Chapter 4:
When the author fell into her novel
“You lousy character! Suffer some more. You very much asked for it.”, she smiles evilly.
Shisha had decided to leave the castle after she’d become aware of her grandchild’s suffering. She had been looking for a small and cheap single house in the nearby town. She was well-paid due to her position and had been saving for a long time already. She had already bought the house, furniture and had everything ready to move out. The only problem she encountered was not being able to find a replacement to fill her position. She needed someone with experience, capable and trustworthy.
Mirae didn’t want the plot to change but then she couldn’t die for the plot to remain as it originally was. At the moment, she was someone external to the plot and her grandmother was following her original fate of leaving the castle after her grandchild’s death. Even if this time, she’d be leaving with Mirae, the writer who’d taken over her grandchild’s body.
Mirae had written a character originally. She was named Ruby and was as capable as Shisha in terms of cooking and experience. Like this, Ruby replaces Shisha’s position after 15 days of making her learn everything and adjust to her new position.
Arnon had been evading Mirae after that night. She’d seen him only a few times during eating time as it was mandatory for everyone to eat together. Arnon’s father Wernon returned home a week before Shisha and Mirae’s departure. He was a man of few words, a powerful man, a fire elemental mage. He worked for a forging company. He held the position of being one of the three best managers there. He used his powers to make weapons that could liberate fire and was one of the most lethal weapons. He would spend months just to make a new weapon and few were people that welded weapons made by him. They were rare and powerful.
Mirae felt the cold treatment that Arnon received from his father. He was her male main character, in a way someone she wished only happiness for. This world she made revolved around him and her female main character. She cherished the two of them as they were one of her very first characters she made while writing.
Mirae had no choice but to accept that she was stuck inside this unreal world. She had to focus on strengthening herself thus she wrote. She made herself powerful, the most powerful in this world. She changed her name to her original one, as Mirae. After all, Ira was no longer alive.
She made herself a powerful woman, a mage capable of controlling all elements, being able to forge, make medicines and even understand animals. She made herself immune to poison and added quicker healing abilities. She made herself tall and beautiful and at the same time made her body well-built and strong.
Mirae had warm golden‑brown skin, long wavy black hair that reached past her waist, deep black almond‑shaped eyes with a faint violet hue when her magic stirred, and soft, delicate facial features framed by long eyelashes. Her figure was slender and elegant, and she stood at 165 cm. Her physical appearance was enhanced through her writing.
The perks of being a writer was no joke. She could make anything out of nothing. She could make herself whoever and however she wanted. Her imagination as a writer was beyond ordinary as well. She’d consider many things at the same time before making a decision.
“What if there came a day she lost her writer’s ability”, was the thought that made her make ample preparations
Before leaving the castle she wanted to talk to Arnon. She went directly to one of his hiding spots and waited there. She had decided to not interfere with the novel’s plot anymore and live quietly enjoying her life but she still felt the need to say some words to him before leaving for good.
“Finally!, here you are.”
Arnon, surprised to find Mirae there, turned around to leave. Mirae stopped him, grabbing his hand.
“I will be leaving tomorrow. Before that, I must tell you something. Just hear me out for a second.”
Arnon with his back facing her, just stays there silently as he nods.
Mirae lets go of his hand.
“I do not blame you for that night. Ease your heart.”, Mirae just says this and walks away
Even if I would have jumped to the scene after witnessing that. It doesn’t mean I can judge him from an outsider’s view. He’d gone through so much after all, all attributed to myself as his creator.
