The Burrows

The plains extended all around us into the horizon as we walked through them, searching for any sort of cave I could call home.
"Boss..."
I look at Makito.
"Hm?"
"I don't think there's going to be anything with a cave inside in this area. It's not like there's any hills or rocks..."
I look all around.
"You never know, young Makito. We just gotta keep-"
"Found it."

Makito and I immediately turn towards Eris as she points to somewhere behind us.
"I think we passed by it too..."
I quickly run towards it.
"Let's not waste any time then!"

It doesn't take us long to backtrack until we reach it as
we stood in front of a fairly large hole in the ground.
"Woah, we really did pass by it."
Makito turns towards Eris and continues.
"Good eyes!"
'...I was too distracted with being impressed by the huge plains.'
I blush slightly and immediately jump into the hole.
"Wait, boss!"

I land safely and look around. It seemed to be a tunnel that extended in two directions, with some sort of glowing vines on the entire ceiling as far as I could see. I looked up and shouted for them to drop, which they quickly do, with Eris dropping on her butt.
"Hm?"
While Makito helped Eris up with a smile, I walked down a bit into one of the sides, trying to listen closely.
Makito and Eris quickly catch up to me, with him asking.
"What do you think? Is it a nice cave?"
I answer without looking.
"Maybe, we barely explored it after all, but... I think I hear something all around us."
Both of them look around and say.
"Really? I can't hear anything... What about you Eris?"
"Hm... Maybe? I can't tell."
I start walking back over to the hole above.
"I can. We should definitely get o-"
"STOP!"

Before we know it, rabbit people equipped with spears appear, quickly surrounding us. They were cute and small, and seemed to be majority girls. They all had short white hair and blue eyes, with bunny ears on the top of their head and fluffy white tails. All of them wore white clothes, most being bikinis, while some were just shorts.
"Tsk. I knew it was bad news when I started hearing things."
The rabbit people kept getting closer, making us back into each other, before finally one of them spoke.
"You are enemies!"
In an attempt to get us free I quickly clarify.
"We are not! I am a great powerful dragon, and these two are my..."
'Crap, I didn't think of this!'
I blush slightly and move on.
"Anyway, we simply came to check this cave as I am looking for a home. So get out of our way!"
One of the rabbit's eyebrows rises as she says.
"What did you say those two were again?"
I cough and try my best to continue.
"Wh-What do you mean? You dare not listen to a mighty dragon? Just let us ago before I grow annoyed and scorch every single one of you..."
'...I think there was some slight worry in my voice... They didn't hear that right?'

We are a stand still for a while until finally one of them says.
"Maybe we should..."
Suddenly, as some of them start dropping their guards, the rabbit girl from before shouts at them.
"What are you lot doing?! We are loyal only to the queen, and she said all intruders are to be brought to her! I'll put my life on the line if it means I stay loyal."
The rabbits look at each other and then cheer before quickly raising their spears at us again.
"Go that way intruders. To the queen!"
"R-Right..."
'Damn rabbits and their loyalty...'

We all turn around and slowly keep walking in the direction they instructed as they escorted us.
Makito leans closer and whispers to me.
"Boss! Why aren't you scorching every single one of them?"
'NO WAY! Is he crazy?! I don't even know how other dragons do it so easily... It's so scary! Doesn't it burn their throats or something?!'
I quickly whisper back.
"F-Fool! We're inside a tunnel, so it will heat the air up a lot. I can't risk you two getting burnt too..."
"Boss... You're right!"

'Good, he bought it.'

"Wait, but why did you say that in the first place?"
I feel my face heat up slightly and I quickly whisper back.
"Shut up already, they'll think we're planning something!"

It takes a while, but after going through this mess of tunnels, taking turn after turn, we finally reach a big tall room, and walk inside.
The rabbits that were escorting us quickly dash towards someone in the back of the room, sitting on a throne.
"My queen! We've brought intruders!"
On the throne sat a much taller rabbit girl, with big muscles and long white hair, though her clothes looked like the same bikini as everyone's with the exception that she had thigh high socks instead of being barefoot.
"You've done well my subjects."

She snaps her fingers and quickly all the rabbits around start licking her, making me quickly shout.
"WHAT?! W-W- Why are they licking you?!"
She looks at us with a grin.
"I am the queen, of course I'm getting licked."
"...I don't see the correlation..."
"Are you as a mighty dragon, and as such, the leader of your group, not getting licked?"
My entire face blushes and I quickly shout.
"OF COURSE NOT! ARE YOU CRAZY?!"
Suddenly Eris pokes me and says.
"We have to be careful, there's a very real chance they might eat us..."
I look at her with doubt.
"...Huh?"
"Rabbit people can be ruthless if attacked, at the very least don't make the queen angry..."
'She has info on them? I guess elves are supposed to be smart, that's good...'
"Thanks Eris."

"Hey!"
Suddenly the queen shouts, bringing our attention back to her.
"First you insult me by calling me crazy, and now you're whispering in my presence? Bold. Very bold."
'Don't make the queen angry... Okay!'
"I... Was just trying to get updated information. Yeah...
A mighty dragon such as I doesn't have the time to keep up with everything."
"Updated information? About what?"
"Well... Oh! Everyone around is so small, but you're... So tall and muscly..."
The rabbit queen nods with a smile as she starts looking at herself.
"Ah yes... This body once did look the same as them, when I was only a peasant. But through battle after battle I forged this great strong body! Strong enough to take up the mantle as queen!"
"I see, well we'll just go now and you'll never see us aga-"
She stops me and continues.
"As queen I must not allow any enemy outsiders free. I had started growing lazy, but your might as a dragon has reminded me of that. This may bring great consequence to us, but I must follow our laws.
TO THE DUNGEON WITH YOU!"
She moment she says that, all the rabbits stop licking her and turn towards us, slowly marching our way.
'Did I... Just do that by being here...?'

...

"You'll be staying there for the rest of your days."
The rabbit locks the gate and runs off, likely back to the queen.
"Boss! What are we gonna do?!"
"Quiet please."
I turn back and look at Eris before asking.
"You're smart, have you memorized the route they brought us through?"
She nods.
"I've left... Marks. Something I learned after being in this group."
"Grea- Huh? Wait have you been leaving marks everywhere we go?!"
She quickly looks down.
"Whatever, come on everyone."
They both approach me as I easily bend the iron bars letting us through.
"Boss, how did y-"
"I'm a dragon, did you forget? Bars like these may as well be made of paper. Now, both of you, quiet! I don't want to get recaptured."
'These rabbits are starting to feel creepy...'
They nod and we set off, following behind Eris.

Luckily we see no one at all as we sneakily retake the same paths and turns that we had previously, all the way back to the entrance.
"That was easy... They're probably back at the queen..."
'The queen... Like before...'
I blush again, remembering what they must be doing and quickly throw Eris and Makito out of the hole in the ceiling, before I too quickly and easily jump out.
"Woah boss... Why did you throw us..."
I look at Makito as he, along with a slightly dazed Eris, slowly get back up as she says.
"Yeah... Miss Dragon, you didn't need to rush... They were probably licking the que-"
"LET'S GO!"
Before she can finish, I quickly start marching forward, trying my best to forget so that the blushing in my face can finally calm down.

"W-Wait for us! Boss!"
