Tanimaki Becomes a Pop Idol (Part 8)

“D-Do you really think you can get away with this?!”

Debiru shouted before he could stop himself.

“Calm down, Debiru. Back off for now.”

Mayutan held Debiru back. He seemed to have something in mind.

After the grueling lesson finally ended, it was at last time for dinner.

As the starving cats gathered in the cafeteria, Mayutan and Debiru finished their meals early and began searching for Yasushi Nyakimoto’s room.

“Ah! Found it! This is it!”

Mayutan exclaimed when he spotted a nameplate on the door that read Yasushi Nyakimoto.

He quickly looked around to make sure no one was nearby.

“All right. Let’s plant a bug on this door. It’ll pick up sounds from inside the room, too.”

With that, Mayutan pulled a small device resembling a metal plate from his three-dimensional pocket and carefully attached it just below the doorknob.

The two returned to their bedroom and quietly listened to the audio being transmitted by the bug.

In the silent room, faint voices crackled through the static.

“…those are the ones… trying to defeat Lord Undo… You’re sure… it’s them…?”

“…Yes… there’s no mistake…”

They could hear Yasushi Nyakimoto speaking with the instructor who had been teaching Tanimaki how to dance.
