The Slime Cave

The two children arrived at the Slime Cave, right outside the city, at 2 pm, about an hour after they leave the Guild. As written in the hand-drawn map, the two kids stepped onto the magic circle in front of the cave, and got teleported inside.

The place they were teleported to was kind of like a room fully made by stone, with just the teleportation thing under their feet, and nothing else. Right before their eyes was a corridor that also made by stones, with a bit of light came from the green glowing stones that were partially buried under. It was somewhat unnatural. 

Even though there was no monster in sight, the two kids still proceeded with cautious. Seeing the adults seemed so fixate on this, Elyna wanted to think this was something serious, too. After a short while, they reached a cave room that was much bigger than the "room" with the teleportation thing. Soon as they entered the room, they spotted some round, transparent creatures strolling around the place. 

'So that is a slime, huh? What should I write here...'

She took the piece of paper from earlier, and a pencil out of her item bag. 

'Huh?'

As she finally had a chance to look at the paper, she saw that it had already been written on by someone. Maybe it was the Guild Master doing.

'Oh, is this some kind of hint? That's cool.'

She started thinking about what to write about the slime. 

About why there was no "transparent" in the description, or why they were so weak that she didn't bother to tell Liz to be careful.

But wait, where was Liz?

'Big Sis, these creatures looks cute!'

The little Liz, already at the edge of the cave room, pointed at one of the slime in a bunch that just a few step away from her.

'It is called a Slime, Liz.'

'Hi Mr. Slime, I'm Liz~'

The small girl sat down, slowly stretched her hand toward the slime. She wanted it to jump onto her hand.

The slime slowly approached the girl's hand. 

'Wait, it actually understand human language?' - Elyna amazed.

But then, it jumped. Straight to Liz's forehead, head (?) first. It made a splash sound when came in contact with her skin, before disappearing and left a small stone underneath.

'Are you okay?'

Elyna came running to where Liz was.

'It felt like a water ball. So cool.'

The girl was laughing. But then, she looked around, and the slime that got close to her seemed nowhere to be seen.

'Where is Mr. Slime?'

'I think he's no longer here with us.'

'Aw...'

'...Now, now. I think he had fun when playing with you. See this stone he left behind?' 

Elyna picked up the small stone that slime left behind.

'It is his way of saying "Thank you", I think.'

'Ehehe, is that so.'

The small girl cheered up a little.

'Why don't you go and play with the slimes over there? I need these guys here to help me with some stuff.'

'YES!'

Having said that, the girl ran off, and left her big sister there with that pack of slimes.

The big sister sat down, looked at the those slimes that were a few steps away from her, and thought about the slime earlier.

About how he just died, right after he touched Liz's head.

And about how those other slimes didn't move toward her sister at all when that happened.

Wait, were it because they don't have eyes?

Didn't look like they have something that resembled the eyes, but then, how could the "attack", or whatever that was, being that accurate?

She tried to think for a while, but nothing came to mind.

'Guuuuu...'

A loud noise could be heard inside the cave room.

A noise that came from where Elyna sat.

From her stomach, to be exact.

Apparently, a few small buns was not enough of a lunch for her.

'Should have bought a few more of those buns... Bun... Food... FOOD?!'

Elyna realized something, then looked again at the piece of paper.

She particularly looked at the "materialized form of magical power" part.

If it was just a bundle of magical power, what would it eat as a creature?

Magical power, it should be!

Then they could "attack" people because they can sense the magical power within them, the range which they could sense it were very short so the other slimes didn't react, and that slime died because of... overeating?

This made more sense than anything she had thought thus far.

She then stood up and went close to one of the slime from the pack before. 

She touched it before it even had a chance to react.

And it also went *poof* like the other one.

It should be right.

Then, the next thing she thought of was how much a slime could eat.

Elyna didn't feel anything when she touched the thing, so it should be somewhat insignificant.

An elementary spell should be good to test thing out, but she could use none of that.

She could only use two spells: one was a spell to store things, called Dimensional Storage, the other was a spell to deflect other spells, called Magic Barrier.

The only two spells that her uncle taught them before he passed away.

After receiving his parting gift, a strange drawing just appeared all over the shoulder part of her body, and all of the spells she learnt by herself could no longer be used by her. Instead it was now her sister that could use them, even if she never learnt any of those spells.

Yet another weird stuff to give your niece as a gift. And then he just "Just go to Noreas and study magic like others".

That dumb uncle!!!

'Hey, Liz!'

'Yesssss~'

The small girl came running from the other side of the room, with hands full of magic stones.

'Big Sis, look at this!'

'Yeah, yeah, our Liz is as amazing as ever. Can you heal that slime over there?'

Elyna put the stones in her Dimensional Storage with one hand, while pointed at a slime in the pack with the other.

'Should I use the one with tree?'

'Just the one with white light is enough.'

'Okay. HEALING LIGHT'

A faint white light appeared from inside that slime.

And it died.

'Tch...'

Dissatisfaction clearly showed in Elyna's face.

She was hoping that they were stronger than this, since they could eat magical power and everything.

But died to a basic healing spell, too?

'Liz, we'll go back after I've finished writing this, okay?'

'Okay.'

Elyna wrote something on the piece of paper from earlier, then the two of them left the dungeon.

It was 3.30 pm.

- Have to get really close to be attacked by one.

- If they attack you, they will die.

- Can even die from healing.
