The Professor's Gift (Part 1)

In the Adventurer's Guild, about 4.30 pm.

Receptionist Rina had done with the making of the two children's Guild Cards, and was now back to work.

Even though the Guild Master said to not worry about the thing, she just couldn't let it go.

The fact that they were breaking rules was one thing, but she was more worried about the kids.

Her parents used to be adventurers.

They met each other in Pagta when looking for work, felt in love after doing some requests together, married, and lived here ever since.

Their ranks were just around the middle of the pack, but they were well-known for their hard-working and how they treated peoples around them. 

Five years ago, they joined hands with others adventurers to explore a newly discovered dungeon in the southern side of the continent. 

But then, tragic things happened. 

Of all 18 adventurers of ranks C, D, and E who went there that days, only 4 peoples, including Rina's mother, abled to get out of the dungeon alive with grave injuries, and parts of their bodies started turn into magic stones.

She used to be able to move in and out of the house, but recently she couldn't wake up at all.

And now, Rina had to watch those kids, who were about the same ages as her two little sisters, went to a dangerous place that one mistake could cause them their lives?

There was no way she could do something like that.

Even if they were the strongest in the universe or whatever.

Then, the guild's door opened.

The two young girls had returned.

Compare to the guild's hall at noon, there was now a significant amount of peoples.

They hesitated and not sure if they should enter the building.

Rina saw the two girls, couldn't keep herself together anymore, left her desk, ran toward them, and hugged them tightly.

'Thanks for coming back.'

The two girl just stood there, confused.

Liz didn't understand it, but someone just hugged her, and she happy about it.

Elyna didn't understand it, why did some stranger look so worried, and just hugged them out of nowhere?

Normally, "mama" would do something like this. But Elyna knew who she was, so she never allowed it.

But the one hugged her right now, she just met today.

Did she seriously worried about their well-being?

Why, though?

It didn't make sense for her at all.

'Eh... Miss Rina... peoples are watching.'

'Oh, sorry... Are you two okay? Not hurt anywhere, right?'

'I think it hurt the most when you hug me.'

'Oops, sorry...Ah, the Guild Master asked you two to come to the warehouse once you've returned.'

'...Oh, yeah, sure, let us going then.'

The three of them went to the warehouse from the outside of the guild's building this time, instead of going through the door inside.

The Guild Master already here.

'Hmm, you guys came back already? That's fast.'

She then put one of her hand forward toward Elyna and showed her palm, as if she asked Elyna to give her something, so Elyna just gave her the piece of paper from before.

'How is your first time in a dungeon?'

'It was okay, I guess?' (Elyna)

'It was super fun.' (Liz)

'Hmm... You didn't go to other rooms beside the first one, right?' (GM)

'...How do you know that?' (Elyna)

'If you want to know, just ask that elf guy. Also, what is this "if they attack you, they die" part, and why did you use a healing spell on the slime?' (GM)

'Because when they jumped at us, they just died, so I thought they ate too much magical power and died because of stomachache, and so we tried a healing spell to see if that true or not.' (Elyna)

'Huh?... Let see... Can you use any kind of physical weapon, like a sword, a hammer or something?' (GM)

'Yes, I can use some of those. Why do you ask that?' (Elyna)

'Okay, then next time I want you to try all of the weapons you can use on the slime of the first room, as well as the others.' (GM)

'There will be a next time?' (Elyna)

'THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME?' (Liz)

'If you can, then everyday, even.' (GM)

'EVERYDAY???' (Elyna)

'EVERYDAY???' (Liz)

Elyna turned her eyes to Liz's direction.

Her eyes were sparkling with excitement.

Really? You liked it that much?

'Ah, looks like someone love the idea.' (GM)

'Do you want to do it that much?' (Rina)

'Yes, outing with Big Sis everyday. Amazing!!!' (Liz)

'Now, now...' (Elyna)

Seeing her bright smile, the two big sisters couldn't bring themselves to stop her.

They had suffered an utter defeated.

The Guild Master wrote something on another piece of paper, then put both of those in the empty envelope from before, and handed it to Elyna, together with the two guild cards.

'These cards is yours, this envelope, please give it to that freaky elf for me, and from now on, if you do anything dungeon-related, monster-related, or request-related, stuff like that, make sure to tell this big sis about it. She would be fully in charged of you guys from now on.' (GM)

'...Okay' (Elyna)

'Then, let me properly introduce myself this time. I'm Rina Elby, and it's my pleasure to work with you two, Lyn, Liz... Also, you can call me Big Sis too, if you want.' (Rina)

Eh, "Lyn"? Who? The only girl with one eye in this room?

Had anyone ever called her that?

A shorten name, just liked Liz.

But she was never treated like a child before.

No one except Liz.

At least that what she felt.

'Ah, Big Sis face turned red, Big Sis Rina.' (Liz)

'Yeah, you're right. It's called being shy. Isn't she looks cute?' (Rina)

'Sorry, but I don't think I am cute.' (Elyna)

'Ehe, my Big Sis is super cute!' (Liz)

'LIZZZZZZ' (Elyna)

The banter went on for a while, but in the end, she called Rina "Big Sis" too.
