Diana's long legs swayed as Damon carried her over his shoulder.
She did not resist.
Perhaps she was honoring their agreement and afraid that resistance would make Damon slaughter the Amazons. Or perhaps she still had not recovered from the shock of seeing the God Killer sword destroyed.
Watching the Amazons' stunned and despairing expressions, Damon gave a soft laugh and spoke to Artemis.
"Unlock them. So long as they do not resist, their lives can go back to normal. I am only interested in her."
As he spoke, he slapped Diana lightly on the rear, hummed a little tune, and walked toward her room for some morning exercise.
Without the Lasso of Truth's influence, would Diana struggle?
Since she could not be made willing like Helena or Felicity, resistance might be interesting in its own way. After all, forcing Wonder Woman was the kind of achievement a monster like him could enjoy.
Artemis, still dazed, ordered Hippolyta and the others released from their chains. The freed Amazons seemed almost lost.
Hippolyta watched Diana being carried away, her expression shifting again and again.
"My queen, if he truly crossed time from the future, then he will not remain here for long. Diana still has time. She will have time to seek revenge."
Artemis understood what Hippolyta was feeling, but sacrifice was unavoidable in war. Just as Artemis had sacrificed herself by offering loyalty to Damon, Diana's sacrifice was to protect Themyscira.
It was worth it.
Bang.
Diana was thrown onto the bed. Damon bent over her and kissed her.
"Mm."
Pain stung the corner of his mouth, and he pulled back with a low sound.
He wiped his mouth with a finger and found a smear of red blood. Looking at Diana's furious, resolute expression, he smiled.
"Now that has flavor."
"If you can resist and do not, then you would not be Wonder Woman."
"Yesterday's scene lost the tone completely. Today... this finally feels right."
With a wicked smile, Damon leaned down again. Diana raised both arms and snapped her bracers together. Divine power blasted him off her and sent him crashing into the wall.
He rolled his shoulder and stood, eyes sharp as he stared at her like a predator ready to hunt.
He did not need a mirror to know exactly what he looked like in that moment.
A true demon king.
The kind of villain the hero would eventually grind into the floor at the final moment.
Diana's hand moved and happened to find the Lasso of Truth Damon had left there earlier. Joy flashed across her face as she grabbed it, spread the loop, and fixed her eyes on him.
Round two was about to begin.
Boom.
A sudden explosion roared outside.
Both of them turned toward the window in surprise and saw flames surging upward as if something had detonated. Screams and panicked voices rose from outside.
Diana froze, then rushed toward the window.
Crash.
She shattered it and dropped from the upper floor.
When Diana landed, she froze again.
Not far away, the square was full of fire and smoke. Several Amazon bodies lay on the ground. The surviving Amazons were actually killing one another.
Had her mother and the others tried to rebel against Artemis?
No.
That was wrong.
Diana quickly saw Artemis fighting against her own people as well.
They were slaughtering each other.
"Stop! All of you, stop! What are you doing? Why are you killing each other?"
Diana rushed forward, using her hands and the Lasso of Truth to separate the Amazons who had fallen into the madness.
"Mother!"
Whish.
A sword swept past Diana.
Seeing Hippolyta ready to attack again, Diana hurriedly stopped her and shouted.
Hippolyta's expression shifted. After a moment of confusion, recognition returned to her eyes.
"What is happening? Is it..."
"Not him," Diana said in a low voice, shaking her head. "There is another intruder."
Clap. Clap. Clap.
The sound of applause came from within the flames.
The fire parted to both sides, and a woman walked out, clapping as she swayed through the smoke.
She wore only a black dress cut through with strips and openings. Her hair was cropped short, almost buzzed. Her eye makeup and lips were black, giving her a gothic, dangerous look.
"Who are you?" Diana asked warily.
"I am your sister," the woman said with a smile.
"Sister?"
Diana looked around at the carnage caused by the Amazons killing one another. Her gaze turned cold.
"I have no sister like you."
"She really is your sister."
Damon's voice sounded. He walked slowly to Diana's side and smiled.
"I admire that lecher Zeus. Not only could he father children, he could apparently father them with anyone. Ares is not your only sibling. This goth-punk woman is Eris."
"The goddess of discord?" Diana asked in surprise.
"That is the one. The goddess who used a golden apple to start the Trojan War."
Damon nodded.
"Your mother should have seen her before. Many years ago, humanity, the Olympian gods, the Atlanteans, and others joined forces to fight Steppenwolf when he invaded Earth."
Diana instinctively looked at Hippolyta beside her.
Hippolyta's expression was grave.
"She should be dead. The gods... the gods should all have been killed by Ares."
Eris laughed with disdain.
"If the gods were truly dead, you would have been dead long ago. My jealous mother Hera would never spare a woman who had an affair with my father Zeus."
Hippolyta's face darkened.
"Why have you come to Themyscira?" Diana demanded.
"Themyscira? I thought this place had become Slave Island. That is why I came to help you, my sister."
Eris smiled and shifted her gaze to Damon.
"As for you, how did you obtain divine power? Are you another son of my father?"
Damon smiled.
"I am your dad."
Eris froze, then laughed.
"I am afraid my mother would disagree."
"That is fine. I do not mind convincing her in bed."
Eris paused again, then looked up at the sky.
"Mother, did you hear that? Someone wants to talk you into bed."
Nothing changed in the sky. Either Hera had not heard, or she had chosen not to respond.
"Release your spell," Diana said, raising her voice as she prepared to attack. "Otherwise, I will force you to release it."
"Try."
Eris arched a brow and smiled.
The moment the word fell, Diana charged.
Bang.
No one saw clearly what happened.
Diana, who had just rushed forward, was sent flying back. She smashed through a wall and landed in the rubble.
"Weakling."
