Chapter 1:
Regalia Hyper Pursuit
(Only eight years pass before the boy is now a teen and basically an adult according to town tradition. Today is the day that Trey must probe himself to be a man by climbing the tower near town called, The Mage's Tower.)
Trey waked up. It's a bright day outside, perfect for monster hunting or climbing a tower to prove you're a grown up.
Trey: *Yawns*"...it's finally the day!" He jumps out of bed rushing to get dressed for the upcoming quest. He puts on his green hat, which his mother made for him. It covers almost all of his hair but the bangs are uncovered. He also puts on his orange poncho that reached down to his red belt on his black pants. He puts on his boots and rushes to fix his brown hair before leaving his room to find his mother in the kitchen. She's making his favorite meal today: fried bred with cinnamon sprinkled on top.
The kitchen is quite small, only an oven with two pots on it and a small ice box with a chip in its side, are the only appliances in the room. Ella, his mother, was frying bread in a pot with some oil in the bottom.
She's a slightly larger woman, around two hundred libra, or so. Long brown hair, a long white skirt with a floral pattern and an apron that's lightly dusted with flour.
Ella: "Ah! There's the birthday boy!", she dries her hands on a wash cloth. "My look how much you've grown...it seems like just yesterday you were but a babe." She wipes her eyes as they begin to water. "Well, in any case you hurry up and finish your breakfast. You'd best not be late for your big day!" She sets Trey's plate on the table.
Trey sits down and begins to devour the delicious treat, barely taking a second to breath between bites. After he finishes he looks up and smiles.
Trey: "Thanks Mama! That was delicious. I'd say even better than last years." He licks his lips clean.
Ella: "Why, thank you!" She chuckles as she grabs the dirty dishes. "Good luck, dear!"
Trey leaves only shouting back with a big grin on his face, as he walks out of the house.
The town is still small, only forty houses and about a hundred and thirteen people are there, not including the safe house where they keep the dangerous things like oil for machines they don't have.
Trey goes into the middle of town to wait for his childhood friend. After only a minute, she arrived.
She had long blond hair that flowed down to her knees, a cute blue dress with red accents and a red bandana firmly wrapped around her hair.
Trey: "Lea!" He gets fake serious, "Why'd you leave me waiting? I could have dies from old age waiting for you!" He sticks out his tongue.
Lea: *Sighs* "Oh, don't be like that...you've taken far longer. Like when my bandana was stuck in a tree and it took you an hour to get off your behind and help me grab it down." She huffs with no real emphasis.
Trey froze up like a statue, clearing his throat before speaking in a sheepish tone, "Um, yeah, sorry about that."
Lea: Laughs uncontrollably hard, "It's fine. That was years ago. Things have changed sense we were eight." She pats him on the shoulder.
Trey shakes his head, a smile returns in the same way it left, "yeah, you're right! That kinda thing was so yesterday. Me, I'm a man now!" He crosses his arms and nods his head much like how his grandfather did.
Lea: *She wipes her eyes and smiles, "Yup! We're all grown up now!" Her face slowly grows slightly darker. "If only your grandfather could see us now..."
Trey's eyes lock on the ground before he looks back up with a small grin, "He may not be here in body but he's still here in spirit!" He doesn't really believe that but says it to make Lea feel better.
Lea: *Smiles unaware* "Yeah! Now then lets go see the elder."
Trey nods and the two begin to walk through the other side of town where all the wise old folk live, like minor elders, the two scholars and the village elder. His name is, Bethel. But he's always called either Bethel the Wise, or village elder Bethel. He is a taller man with purple hair that comes down to his shoulders and he wears heavy blue robes with a strange five petal flower crest on it.
Trey and Lea walk right to the edge of town. Waiting to meet them there was none other than Bethel. He is brooding, like usual.
Bethel: "You two are late." His whole demeanor is a constant mix of disappointment and anger.
Trey: *Scoffs* "Only by a minute."
Lea: *Looks at Trey, like, really.* "I, we're both very sorry village elder Bethel." She bows in shame.
Bethel: *Leers at Trey* "Come now you two. You have a trial to pass."
Bethel begins to lead the two up the mountain. The forest is vast but the mountain is treacherous. The steep inclines made it incredibly unforgiving but Bethel climbs it with ease. Trey and Lea on the other hand can barely climb up the beginning slope.
Trey: "Ugh! This is impossible!" He yells as he slides down after yet another failed attempt.
Bethel is standing at the top waiting patiently. He hasn't even said a single word since they began to fail.
Trey throughs his hands in the air and yells, "There's no way, no how! This is so dumb!" He tries to walk away but before he could get teleported back, "Wait...how?!"
Bethel: "Who said you could leave? You still have a mission to complete."
