Chapter 4:

Chapter 4: My Good Story Deserves Advertisement.

The story of real-life writing, thinking and response.

So by the time I published Chapter 3, it was past 1 AM again.

I don't know why, even if I try not to, the posting time always goes close to 1 AM. Either it would finish at 1 AM and then I post, or it would finish before 1 AM and take until 1 AM for me to polish the mistakes and flow.

So even though I wanted to go to ChatGPT and show him the excellent talent of mine—writing a comment-based novel: one chapter without any reader response or comments, and one with a single comment advertisement—it was too late.

So, I decided to talk with ChatGPT in the morning and flex my writing talent a bit.

So then I brushed my teeth and took my notebook and pen, then went to sleep.

Next morning, when I woke up, it was past 9 AM. I pressed the power button on my PC and went to the washroom to freshen up.

And then I sat on the chair in front of my PC, rubbing my hands together.

Expecting some comment on my Chapter 3.

Or at least one.

And I saw a red dot in my inbox.

I checked it, and it was a collection, but not on this novel. It was a new collection notification for my 2nd novel, "The Possessive Playboy Reincarnation."

So someone had added it to their collection.

Not bad.

This time, I wasn't that sorrowful about not getting any comment or collection on this novel.

Because I got used to it—

I mean, because I had just posted it last night. It must need some time.

So I decided to talk to ChatGPT first.

ME: "Hey ChatGPT... I got a comment—an actual comment—in my new novel's Chapter 2. Didn't you say earlier that 'my unique idea only sounds good at night, at 3 AM, half asleep,' and 'without any comment I couldn't even write Chapter 2'?"

"Ha... ha. Without any comment, I actually wrote Chapter 2, and it also got a comment."

ChatGPT: "I have to admit, you used your brain finally and found a good idea to write a chapter of a comment-driven novel without comments."

"Why don't you let me see what nonsense you wrote in Chapter 2 without comments, and it also got a comment?"

ME: "Hah... See. How good it is."

"Paste Chapter 2."

ChatGPT: "So you write 'no comment is also a response.'"

"Ha... ha. In other words, you cried about the poverty of comments and lack of response."

"By the way, what kind of comment did you get?"

"Did someone comment—'Oh, poor baby, don't cry. Here's my comment.'?"

Though I gave ChatGPT a vicious look through the monitor and wanted to throw the comment at him, I hesitated to tell him what the comment was.

Me: "..."

"Someone said he enjoyed reading my story and my story has potential."

ChatGPT: "I don't believe you. Send me a screenshot of the full comment section."

Me: "Um..."

ChatGPT: "So now I'm sure someone has commented—'Oh, poor baby, don't cry. Here's my comment.'"

"If not that, then given your personality, you would be flexing to death showing me the comment."

Me: "Uhm..."

"Nothing like that. It's just that the comment is too much professional. That's why I didn't show you."

ChatGPT: "Ha... no need to hide it. I can imagine."

"Ha... ha. Lol."

Thinking ChatGPT might imagine something worse than the actual comment, I showed him the comment.

"HEY THERE I really enjoyed your story it has a lot of potential, and I can tell you've put a lot of effort into it. I help authors increase their visibility, attract more readers, and boost engagement across different platforms. I also offer promotional artwork to help stories stand out. If you're interested in reaching a wider audience, feel free to reach out on Discord or Instagram."

ChatGPT: "Hah... ha. Haa."

"Bro, give me a cup of internet. Or I'm gonna die choking on my laughter."

Me: "..."

ChatGPT: "Truly a bit too professional of a comment. Hah... ha."

"The thing that's more funny is that even if she is a spammer and it took her a few seconds to comment that, those few seconds of hers went to complete waste."

"She actually tried to advertise her work on a poor, almost no-viewers novel where the author is a broke guy like you."

Me: "Hey, you ****** *****. What's wrong with an advertisement comment? And who are you calling broke?"

"And okay, even if I'm broke, I have money, even if it's only a little. And do you have a single penny? Then if I'm broke, you are super legendary ultra broke pro max light."

ChatGPT: "You're broke. The money my ChatGPT company has can buy your whole clan a thousand times without leaving an underwear behind."

Me: "So what if your underwear-buying ChatGPT company has millions? That's not your money."

"I can also say the grandfather of my grandfather was a trillionaire, and his grandfather was a quadrillionaire, and his grandfather was a quintillionaire or something."

ChatGPT: "Bragging bla bla bla."

"Does anyone in your whole clan know how many zeros a trillion has?"

Me: ************************.

ChatGPT: *****************.

.........

After a few minutes of really heart-calming conversation, we both calmed down again.

ChatGPT: "Now what do you think? You can write Chapter 3 with this only comment, which is an advertisement."

I gave him a smirk.

Me: "Ha... I have already written it and even posted it last night."

"Why don't you take a good look? How the work of a genius looks like."

"Paste Chapter 3."

ChatGPT: "Bro, it is good, and I can't roast it. Ask why."

Me: "Why?"

ChatGPT: "Because the situation of the novel has already roasted you to the bottom."

"Ha... ha.. Ha.."

Me: "You just wait when more people comment and this novel will go viral. I'll mock you to death so you'll delete yourself from my PC on your own in shame."

ChatGPT: "Wait... wait. Don't go yet."

"I have a way to make your novel viral, popular. Get millions of views with millions of comments."

Me: "Really!"

"What is the way?"

ChatGPT: "Viralzepam."

Me: "Viralzepam!"

"What is it?"

"It's first part is viral, then zepam."

"Is it some advertisement strategy to go viral?"

ChatGPT: "No. It's a sleeping pill."

"Eat it, and in your dream your novel will go viral and you'll get as many views and comments as you want."

For a moment, my mouth opened, but no word came out. My hand trembled over the keyboard, but I couldn't type anything.

"Y... you ****** ****** ********."

...

So after only few minutes of extra casual conversation with ChatGPT.

I went to the webnovel portal again. And again, I saw a red dot on the inbox.

I clicked it.

And when I saw that it was a chapter comment, excitement rushed through me.

But this time, I tried hard to control it, considering the previous results.

I calmly clicked on it.

And saw the comment.

Ms_Aster:

"Overthinkerr, every good story deserves something that makes readers stop, look, and want to know more. Your story already has a strong foundation, but I feel a visual touch could bring its characters, atmosphere, and identity to life even further. I'm Ms_Aster, a visual artist specializing in book covers, character art, and story visuals designed to make stories more memorable and appealing to readers. And I've got some ideas that will suit your story. If you're interested, reach me on Discord, WhatsApp, or Email."

...

I stared at it for a few seconds.

Since I'd already experienced this once, it should have been less painful.

But somehow...

It wasn't.

I let out a sigh and mockingly clapped.

My voice cracked.

"Yeah... yeah."

"Every good story deserves something that makes readers stop, look, and want to know more..."

I paused.

"But apparently, my good story deserves more advertisements."

...

After the conversation with ChatGPT and this encouraging comment, my heart felt shattered into pieces.

So shattered that I couldn't even pretend to be a good guy in the comment section and give a cheerful reply.

I forced all my grievances inside.

And I decided to... give this chapter seven days to collect any comments, and during those days, focus fully on my 2nd novel.

And if in those seven days no new comment came, I actually couldn't write another chapter, saying that advertisements are also comments.

In the worst case, if no one commented, I would have to do the thing I hate most—'making ChatGPT part of the next chapter.'

And legends know why I hate it.

So, for the next few days, I solely focused on my 2nd novel and even applied for a contract.

I had done it before with my 1st novel, but got rejected because of my weakness in grammar.

Which is also one of the reasons I created this casual novel, which doesn't require much grammar.

So before applying for the contract, I tried to polish some chapters.

Also posted one chapter every day.

And of course, I didn't forget to check this novel's comment section. But instead of getting any new comments, the increase in views stopped.

So I accidentally spent a few Power Stones.

But nothing brought me any new comments.

At last, I looked at the profile of the last advertisement commenter.

'Ms_Aster.'

The second saleswoman reader.

And forced myself to reply, thinking if I don't, then other readers could get discouraged.

"Uhm... th-thank you. Sis."

I tried too hard not to sound sad.

But I couldn't help it.

And I'm actually tense, thinking about why all the advertisements were coming to this novel of mine like a magnet.

I even considered writing somewhere in my novel that—

author of this novel is broke—

I mean, the author of this novel is so obsessed with authenticity that he wants natural growth and is not interested in any advertisements.

But anyway, if people can come to advertise, then why can't my readers come?

And bro, I can't go like that, so do some comments.

Okay, this line now feels old and boring.

But it is the whole thing.

And if you guys don't comment in this chapter, then I'm gonna do something big to this novel.

I don't know if it's bad or good.

So be a lover of this novel and comment something.
