Chapter 5:
The story of real-life writing, thinking and response.
So after posting chapter 4 I wasn't much happy. And who would if his novel get nothing but advertisement comment.
With a heavy heart I brush my teeth and went to bed with my notebook and pan.
Laying on bed I couldn't stop warring about this novels future.
But it's was a relief that my 2nd novel seem to thrive.
It have 16k views and 23 collection in 19 chapters. I have even applied for that novel to be a contracted author.
And the result might be on the way.
The thought of being a contracted author. And earning money is more then pleasant.
And It would be a lie if I say I don't dream to swim on the money earned by novel writing but... painfully I know that isn't realistic enough.
But even a few money would be made me satisfy that my secrecies of my golden slacking hours.
If I get contracted...maybe
Maybe finally would be able to comfort myself that the free time hours I spend hard thinking and writing instant of laying and scrolling on social media would be worth it.
With that exciting thought I fell asleep hugging my notebook.
On the next morning when I wake up next morning, I pressed the on button and went to brush.
And when I checked the webnovel creator portal not even I fly moved through my monitor.
Looks like no one have took the warning I gave in chapter 4 seriously or maybe no one have even seen.
Whatever, I have already got use to get disappointed and being ignored on that novel.
So, I just ignore the views ignore in return as well.
Then I work on my 2nd novel for roughly two hour and then according to my rule i lazyly sluck off for a hour.
Then I shower and eat then went to my part time work.
Though I get brake of one hour on afternoon, I didn't check the webnovel portal. I was just rest a bit then went back to part time work.
And at night eight I drag my exhausted body and sit on my pc after throwing my shirt on the corner of the room.
I opened the webnovel portal.
And my eyes lid up when I saw a red on the notification bar.
I hurriedly clicked and i saw only a glance of the notification.
Contract Rejected.
I just scrolled as if I act I didn't saw I will became lie.
For a full minute I just looked at the mouse of mine.
My mine is racing in an inner battle.
'Should I read that?' 'Or not.'
'But... I know what it contain.'
'Could it that I saw wrong?'
Then I took a deep inhale, my heart somehow started to beat fasted.
Though I know it isn't too much serious or life and death situation, I couldn't help my hand from shacking.
I scrolled up again and read the notification with a calm face and plumping heart.
" Contract Application Rejected ·
Regrettably, your <Possessive Playboy Reincarnated as a Pathetic Husband in Yandere novel> has been rejected for contract for the following reason: <The plot is not engaging enough and difficult to follow, After verification, it has been determined that your work does not meet the signing requirements of WebNovel>. "
Haa...
Ok so all and everything I was writing wasn't engaging enough and difficult to follow.
It would be a big lie if I say I didn't feel painstaking sadness and I it wasn't hart to breath steadily at that time.
Yeah it's my fault to write without properly knowing how to write.
I close the tap and lean back on my chair.
Ha... it isn't like it's a big deal that if I had contracted then I would be a ballooner and now I hadn't mean I lost that billion.
But whatever I say to myself it feel like my heart wasn't taking it or getting settled.
So I off my pc and went out for a fresh air.
Yeah its one of my habit. Whenever I fell unhappy or unsettled I went to a walk.
Who knows where?
So it was night almost 10 pm. There was many people on the road.
I walk though them observing everyone.
Mostly everyone walked as if they have a purpose, something important to do, something meaningful.
Some look rich and satisfied with their materialistic happiness.
Some looked happy and surrounded by many friends.
And me?
Though I'm not sure how did I look, I can imagine how maybe people have seen me.
A normal looking guy looking at everyone like a curious kid, full of himself and his own thought.
And at that time, I somehow felt like an anime hero who had lost of failed on his big mission and spending an quite night marveling his sadness.
Ok I'm being too much dramatic. It isn't like I invented rocket science and failed; it was just writing.
And if it isn't good then it's obvious to get rejected.
I looked at the sky and felt how big the world feel. And a big building cot my eyes.
Hmm.. “Some people owns 40-story buildings like that, and some can't even afford to rent one of their rooms even if sell themselves.
Every human being is equal, so what makes this difference.
Is....
I hurriedly stopped my inner big bro philosopher.
Bro, it's time to marvel my sadness of being rejected on contract application after purring my huge amount of golden slacking hour.
So don't disturb my sadness now.
At that time suddenly a new story idea came to my mind.
Oh, that's a great idea!
Where did the sadness go?
Sadness feels good but hope fells more batter.
So, what else can we do but dangle a carrot in front of ourselves?
And this is one of the reasons I like this habit of walking and thinking. It gives something, either it makes you feel like an anime hero on his losing arc or gives you a solution.
So, I decided to write a new story but this time I'm not going to make the same mistake like before.
This time I would write like a professional. Instant of writing chapters everyday this time I would make the full rough story of the novel first.
Then write at least 50-100 chapters first. See myself if it is engaging enough or easy to follow.
Then I would post them. No matter if it took a few months.
And yeah, on those day I would also continue this novel of mine. Who knows, maybe I can get enough readers to make myself delusional enough to feel like my writing is going somewhere.
But bro... I'm just totally f..ked up with webnovel. What else is it besides being one of the best platform for web novel.
So I went back to my home precisely on my pc.
And search 'the top websites for novel writes which have most earning potential.'
I mean- 'the top...'
Ok I won't hide it.
By the way, wanting to earn money isn't something bad.
So, first I want to search top platform with highest money earning potential but remembering that if no one show up there's no way to earn money,
So, not wanting to repeat the webnovel journey again, I searched for top websites for novel writers with most reader engagement and beginner friendly.
And chose some of them.
Yeah I chose several websites. Though it feel like spamming but more website means chances to get more reader.
And more readers means more adviser— I mean more engaged reader.
Bro, now days even in nightmares I see someone is advertising in my novel comment section.
After that I packed my bag from the webnovel and went out.
Saying myself if you don't have a girl friend it means every girl is your potential girlfriend--- I mean- if I don't have webnovel as my settled platform then every platform is potentially mine.
So, I slowly post my already written four chapters in chosen platforms and wait for readers to response some comment... of Couse real comments.
Though at first I was confused should I edit my chapter of this novel according to different platforms, then I decided to not.
Not because I'm lazy to do it, it's again that I want reader to know the origin and the real story behind this novel.
So after posting those I didn't just wait. I also made a new notebook.
This time not as a sleeping friend, this time for writing the new novel I invented in my despair state.
At that time no reader showed up or done anything special.
But one the second day in the website named Inkitt I got three followers at once.
I don't know why did they all became my followers at almost the same time.
Their names are.
'Sin'
'Merci!'
'Lee Ellis'
Ok 'Lee Ellis' is someone's name---- someone respected lady's name.
But Other two?
'Sin' means a violation of divine or moral law. Right?
What does 'merci' mean. Let me translate.
It means... 'thanks'!
Wait.. Wait.
Then if we line them their meaning becomes.
'Sin thanks to Lee Ellis'
What the....
Who thanks who?
What does that mean?
Is someone using code word in disguise of following me?
Umm...
“Whatever. I got my followers, so it doesn't matter if someone is exchanging code words to destroy any country or something.
Instead, I would suggest they use the comment section too for their code language.
I mean, use my comment section so I can catch them red-handed.
It isn't like I don't care about people or countries as long as I get followers or comments.
Seriously, bro, I'm not making an excuse.
So, I dropped that matter there, making sure they didn't understand that I had figured out their code language.
Then another day passed without any reader response.
But suddenly, I saw a red dot in the inbox of a website called Scribble Hub.
Someone named 'Evelyn Cove129' had messaged me.
Hmm... the name feels like a female.
What did she message?
“Your story is effortlessly fluent. And I really enjoyed reading this.”
Oh, hell, yeah.
Finally, someone had commented.
A genuine comment.
Not an advertisement.
And she saw the talent of mine.
Yeah... yeah... praise me harder. Let the world see and hear!
Wait...
She didn't comment.
The website, Scribble Hub, has a feature that allows users to send personal messages to each other.
“Fu*k you, idiot—”
I mean...
Have some sense!
If nobody is watching you praise me, then what's the point?
Sha...
But actually, she doesn't have done anything bad. So, I replied to her.
"Thank you so much for reading this, especially for reaching me personally."
So, after that, with that mix of happy and sad felling, happy because someone has parsed me, and sad because no one can know that.
I left that website.
The next day, she replied.
"I support and enjoy your novel. We can talk more about that, but I'm actually not too active on this website so you can reach me in discord."
Discord!
I don't know why everyone just always tells me to reach them in Discord.
Is Discord is so much popular now days? I'm a modern guy too but why don't I have one?
Whatever, I'm not going to reach her on discord.
It isn't like I fear that if I reach her on discord then she would show her real face and say
'I'm an advised now give me money and I'm make your novel more thriving.'
It just.. It. Whatever I don't want to. That's it.
Though she sounds like a good girl, who knows if an advertiser is hidden behind her.
So, I just left the platform for now.
And then the next day someone have comment on wattpad that
"Ok this part got me-' an idea failed is acceptable but someone else copying it succussing with it is unbearable. ' I can imagine the scene. But I can give you some advice to make them more clearly, you can talk to me in Instagram or Discord."
What Discord again.
This time I was prepared mentally. But still...
Nowadays whenever I saw a comment the thought that 'could it be a spamming advertising bot' never came to my mind.
Instant the thought that came to my mind is 'is this possible that he is a genuine human made of flesh and blood.'
Maybe the nightmare where advisers hunt me down is going to be real.
Ok, what was his name?
Let me check.
What!
I couldn't find his comment anymore.
I even gave him a reply but now he has vanished.
Bro, I swear I didn't lie. There was someone commented that, but his name was too big to remember.
Did he delete the comment?
Or what?
Whatever.
Whoever he was, I won't forgive him for making me a Lier on my own novel.
Whatever you guys forgive me--- I mean forgive him Couse it's all his fault for doing this, so our chapter 5 got massed up.
And yeah, I know this part wasn't much fun.
But honestly, bro, I couldn't force anything better from my situation—and your poor engagement.
Whatever.
I'm tired of asking you guys for comments.
So do whatever you want.
