Undo gave a low chuckle. “I shall lend you my power.”

He moved his hands smoothly, like a conductor guiding an orchestra.

The air trembled, and the light itself began to warp.

The eagle’s body swelled with an ominous creak, and its wings spread wide enough to cover an entire mountain.

It looked exactly like the legendary Roc of old.

“Go... and abduct Mayutan for me.”

As if obeying Undo’s command, the eagle—now transformed beyond all recognition—thrashed the winds into a frenzy, spread its colossal wings, and soared into the sky with enough force to tear through the forest itself.

“Heh heh heh... Lord Undo, you really are a wicked one... That rowdy little celebration actually happened before the eagle abducted Tanimaki, didn’t it...?”

Bun'ei said with a nasty grin, his voice hoarse and grating.

“Those who are deceived have only themselves to blame... The strong rule over the weak and make use of them. Is that not the very law of this world?”

Undo murmured the words matter-of-factly, his face completely expressionless.

At that moment, Tanimaki and the others were walking across a vast grassy plain.

The wind brushed their cheeks and gently stirred the waves of grass.
