“I am not there with you. I speak to your heart... from far, far away. Tell me—do you not wish to avenge your chick?”

Undo crept into her grief, seeking out the weakness in her heart.

“...Avenge him? Even if I did... my little boy wouldn’t come back. It would only leave me feeling empty.”

The eagle slowly shook her head.

Undo let the words resonate softly, then projected an image directly into the eagle’s mind.

It was a lively scene from the Fluff & Sparkle GP, where Tanimaki and the others were being celebrated as honored guests.

The dragon had been defeated, and the townsfolk were drinking, cheering, and making merry.

Tanimaki, completely drunk, lay sprawled on the ground, snoring away.

—All of it appeared vividly within the eagle’s mind.

“They let your child die, and yet look at them... celebrating without a care in the world. Shouldn’t people as wicked as these be punished?”

Slowly, Undo dripped black poison into the eagle’s heart.

“I-I can’t forgive them! My little boy... he couldn’t even get a single bite to eat...!”

A new fire ignited in the eagle’s eyes.

At last, hatred swallowed her reason, and she fell completely into Undo’s trap.
