Chapter 12:
Secrets of Loenhess
//The Baroness (Liza) having found out that Garo had set fire to their warehouse confronts him.
Baroness: If I find any more of your “Product” in my warehouse I will have it incinerated, and you can tell William (the King) that I said that.
Garo: Of course, My Lady, if that is your wish then we will honor that request. I’m sure because of your relationship with William he will be more than happy to comply.
The Baroness’ Flashback – Both the Baroness and William attended the same Royal Academy.
//William is sitting under a tree daydreaming with a drawing pad on his lap. Liza walks up and sits next to him.
Liza: I thought I would find you here. So let me see what you drew this time. Hum, very nice.
//Liza then starts to look through the other pictures and comes upon a picture of herself looking out the window during class. It has the caption of “My truest friend”.
Liza: Aw, how sweet. For a future King, you’re not have bad yourself.
//Everyone had befriended William at the Academy because of his status as the future King, but Liza was the only one that could care less about his future status. Liza was actually a mentor and guide to William and would make fun of the stuck ups that would try and befriend him. She was also a part time bodyguard, since William’s fighting skills were not his strong suite. However, Liza had been training with William in that area since she was a very accomplished in the martial arts, one of the best at the school.
//Just then 3 big goon looking fellows start to walk over to Liza and William.
Liza: Looks like Garo is up to no good again. Should I take care of this or can you handle them.
//Garo would often pay people to fight with the future King. His early attempts at discouraging the Future King. Later in life would come the actual assassination attempts.
William: I think I got this. Besides you’re in such a pretty dress today.
Liza: Okay, I’ll be here looking through your drawing pad if you need me.
//Liza sees Garo of in the distance and nonchalantly gives him the finger.
Liza: What a complete A-Hole.
Back to the present –
//As the Baroness and her most trusted friend and security advisor (Hestia) walk back to the car.
Baroness: I don’t trust him one bit, he will try to retaliate. Please keep a close watch on the kids and the Baron.
// She looks back at Garo as he smiles and waves to her.
Baroness: He is truly the Devil’s servant, there is no redemption for his soul.
Hestia: Did you also sense another presence there.
Baroness: Yes, It was the stench of those two evil lackey’s of his. The brother and sister duo.
Hestia: I’ve heard of their reputation, they’re a nasty lot.
//As usual, the brother and sister were hiding in the shadows.
Garo: I think killing her would be to kind, I would like her to experience true loss and suffering. Bring me her youngest son, we can always use some more Simetra.
Sister: As you wish my Lord.
//Shortly thereafter the brother and sister are sitting on the rooftop of the Baroness’ mansion.
//Hestia senses a familiar presence and opens one of the bedroom windows. She doesn’t see anything, so she steps outside on the ledge to get a better look. Suddenly, she hears the Baroness yelling and rushes back inside to investigate.
Baroness: Well, well, I guess Garo wasted no time at all.
//Fight scene: The Baroness then engages the brother in hand-to-hand combat. The Baroness knocks the brother down and moves in closer to finish him off when the brother reaches into his pocket and throws a powder into her face. While the Baroness is temporarily blinded, he kicks her in the stomach and send her reeling backwards into the wall. The brother moves in for a lethal blow, but just then Hestia kicks the brother in the side knocking him away from the Baroness. The brother becoming more frustrated takes out a knife and throws it at Hestia striking her in the thigh. The Baroness rushes over to aid Hestia, while the brother laughs and jumps outside the widow and vanishes into the night sky.
Baroness: Where did he go…. No, it was just a diversion…
//The Baroness races to the youngest son’s room and flings open the door. The son is gone, and the Baroness grabs his blanket.
Baroness: Damn him!
//Hestia limps into the room with the other children.
Hestia (bows to the Baroness): Please forgive me my Lady, this is all my fault. I will find Oso and bring him back.
Baroness: it’s not your fault Hestia. Garo went too far this time, he will pay dearly for this!
//The Baroness goes to hug the other children.
Baroness: Are you okay Hestia, you wound looks pretty serious. We need to take you to the hospital to have that taken care off.
Hestia: I’ve had worse before my Lady, a couple of stitches will do the trick, I will be okay.
//The Baroness realizes Hestia will not be able to confront Garo and his lackeys in her current condition. She then remembers Aiya and Hana and hearing how they have opened their own detective agency.
Baroness: Hestia, I need you to find the sisters that helped us outside the restaurant that one night. I believe they have their own detective agency now.
Hestia: Yes, you are correct my Lady. I’ve been keeping an eye on them since that one night, since they were so intriguing. I believe they would be perfect for this situation, especially given Aiya’s military background.
Baroness: But please keep a tight lid on this, we cannot give Garo any reason to believe we have hired outside help.
Hestia: As you wish my Lady, I will not fail you this time.
