Chapter 38:
Kesel
I cut into all five of Numen’s Destruction-type fruits.
Energy began to pour out from the fruits everywhere.
Wini knelt on the floor. She was helpless in tears, with Brigid and Megan consoling her.
"Everyone who matters to me is dying and abandoning me. Why is this happening?" Wini said in tears.
"This is the real world, Wini, complete chaos, filled with pain, suffering, wars, and destruction," I reflected. "I could say and regret that once again, I was brought to this, but not this time..."
She then stopped crying and paid attention to me.
"Don’t cry, Wini. This world is like that long before you. You really are a true light, a thread of hope that has appeared. Don’t stay down, and promise me that you will build this Garden of Eden, a new kingdom, for me and for all who have sacrificed themselves for you. And don’t worry, I’ll tell your father that you’re doing what you can."
"But you—" Wini replied, but I said:
"Wini, don’t blame yourself for helping to create these things. In the end, you were forced. Our peoples, Empires, have done harm to each other. We should stop it and apprehend and improve. We could move forward with this in mind. But to say this is easy. The world is full of evil. Even if we do this, there will always be people obsessed with power, like the Empire, who could do anything to destroy that ideal... So find a place, make it safe, and build something that represents this feeling you showed me through what you believe."
"Kesil..." said Wini.
I approached her by offering my hand to help her up.
"So Wini, tell me, do you still think what you told me before is possible? Is this Garden of Eden possible?"
She smiled and said, "But of course."
She stood up with my help and then hugged me.
"I understand... I promise you again... But... It’s just that people are always sacrificing themselves for me... And this time I was guilty myself, creating these nefarious things..."
"Conflicts like these should be resolved and left to people like me and Blodeuwedd, who have been involved from the beginning, and we are the ones responsible for things like this... I won’t let you carry that burden. This world is so chaotic that even people like you are forced to get involved in such bad things. And even if in the end it destroys itself again because of humans, to know that at least somewhere, for some time, the world has had a place with your ideals, all this sacrifice of mine is worth it."
Megan and Brigid came to hug me too...
"Be careful, and protect Wini for me."
"Yes, of course," Megan replied.
"Goodbye…" said Brigid in tears.
I walked away from them...
Then I said, "Goodbye..."
I pointed the sword in their direction and said:
"Air Ability! Evade technique!! Tornado!!!"
The tornado began to rise from below, so I moved the sword, turning towards them, and then I moved it up, and they flew from the top of the tornado towards the heavens. They passed through the opening of the ceiling that was high above and went towards the heavens until they disappeared from the viewing angle.
"With that, you will be safe," I said.
"What do you want to do?" I said to Mother Ludlam. "If you want to live, I can send you away, but only so long as you never come near Wini again."
She looked at me and said, "To be honest, I was interested in that kingdom you talked about. But I think that after all I’ve put Wini through, I don’t think I deserve to be a part of this."
"If we are sincere, if it is created, there won’t be many people worthy of going there. So I wouldn’t say that if I were you. Wanting something different from what we live now, even if we don’t deserve it, would not make us unworthy as long as we do it for ourselves from the moment of changing our thinking about wanting to live there," I said.
She stood in silence, staring at me, and replied, "I understand... But I think it’s too late for me." She turned her face, and then we heard soldiers approaching.
"They arrived..." I reflected.
I leaned on one of the fruits of Numen that I had cut before and sat against it.
I looked at the fruits that changed color. Then, they stopped shining... the colors of the twelve in which they became definitive were now defined, which means that the kind of power Numen was ripened in all fruits.
The types of Numen were: two light green Purification type, two yellow Creation type, one strong green Vital Force type, two silver Transmutation type, two reddish orange Fire type, two blue Plasma type, an Air type with transparent color and an aura of wind spinning inside the fruit.
I smiled. Looks like I’m in luck anyway.
I made the sword move from a distance and cut the Numen fruit of the Air type to leak the Numen aura of that type as well.
"You hate Mora, right? Want to help me?"
Mother Ludlam walked over and sat in the same position, near another Numen fruit of the kind of Destruction I had cut before.
Then she replied, "Sure... So what do I have to do?"
......
After I explained, I looked at the sky.
Many soldiers approached: the commander, the first mate, the two Magus, and more soldiers who seemed to have control of Numen of type Dualism.
Right... the time has come... Wini... I hope you can really... before the end of everything... create this paradise on earth...
Because now everything I have seen... and everything I will see until the end of my life... it is the purest chaos... At least I want to die knowing that I helped somehow protect the foundation of this kingdom... that you want to create...
The Garden of Eden!
