Chapter 13:

Raging Battle/Battle In Capital

Elements Of The Five Spirits Volume 2

The crimson aura around Amanozako flared, radiating raw, unbridled fury. Her long black hair floated upward like striking vipers, and a reality-shattering roar tore from her chest.

Before Fujidai could set his feet, she closed the distance. No wind. No spatial distortion. Her physical movement bypassed sight entirely. She dug her fingers deep into his collar, using his momentum to launch him across the cobblestone arena.

"Come on!" she screamed, her divine voice cracking the sky above. "You came here to kill me, didn't you? Then do it! Take my life!"

She caught him mid-flight, driving a heavy right hook into his ribs. The kinetic shockwave shattered the clouds, sending Fujidai skidding hundreds of meters across the stone floor. He spat a mouthful of dark blood, coughing as he pushed himself up.

Fujidai flicked his wrist, summoning a dense orb of dark chi. "Shadow—"
Amanozako slapped his hand away before the spell could form. "Weak!" she shrieked, driving a knee directly into his gut.

She seized him by the neck, soaring straight into the upper atmosphere. Dragging him face-first against the barrier of the sky, she delivered a brutal strike that sent him plummeting back through the golden roof of her palace. Stone and tile rained down as Fujidai slammed into the throne room floor, leaving a deep crater.

"You're supposed to be strong, right?" Amanozako landed with a heavy thud, her red eyes burning as she stalked toward him. "Fight me! Fight like a warrior, boy!"

Fujidai wiped blood from his lip, his breath ragged. I have to endure this, he thought, his jaw clenching tightly. If Kai can push past his limits, so can I.

Amanozako grabbed him by the front of his shirt, lifting him high. "You want to kill Kai Kazan? Then fight me!" She swung her fist down toward his face with blinding speed.

THUD.

Amanozako’s eyes widened in sudden shock. Her fist stopped centimeters from his nose. Fujidai’s shadow-infused hand had locked around her wrist, his grip unyielding. She tugged back, but his hold didn't budge.

"How... how is this possible?" she stammered, her pride crumbling into confusion.
Fujidai slowly stood up, a dark smirk spreading across his bloodied face. He tapped his forehead with his free hand.

"You were so blinded by your own rage that you didn't notice the orb," Fujidai said quietly. "The construct I threw earlier wasn't an attack. It's been siphon-draining your power and energy this entire time."

He released her wrist as the dense orb flew back into his palm, glowing with raw, stolen divine chi. "Such a pity... I always wondered how strong I'd be if I fully merged with my spirit form."
"NO!" Amanozako screamed, lunging forward with her claws outstretched.

Massive shadow tentacles erupted from the floor, binding her arms and torso. Fujidai brought the glowing orb to his mouth and swallowed it whole.

A towering shadow figure materialized behind Fujidai. The beast possessed six glowing eyes—three aligned on each side of its face—and four massive, razor-sharp shadow claws. It let out a horrid, screeching roar that vibrated through the deep bedrock of the dimension.

I haven't sensed an ancient entity like this since the primeval era... Amanozako thought, her heart seizing with genuine terror.

The shadow creature plunged into Fujidai’s back, encasing him in a dense, dark cocoon. A scream tore from Fujidai's throat—a wave of power so immense it rattled the fabric of the Sixth Dimension.

Far away in the mortal realm, the ground and sky trembled violently.

Alyssa gripped a stone pillar to steady herself, looking up at the turbulent sky. "What the hell is happening?!"

Kai stood beside her, watching the spatial ripples with a wide grin. "It's Fujidai... He's breaking his limits. Hell yeah!"

Back in the northern fortress, the dark cocoon shattered.

Inky black markings spread across Fujidai's skin, culminating in a sharp, crescent moon mark upon his left cheek. His attire morphed dramatically: a high-collared black cloak with a long cape wrapped around his shoulders, lined with vibrant purple patterns and bordered by intricate geometric trim. A long purple ninja scarf wrapped around his neck, pinned at the collar by a glowing violet orb that matched an ocular symbol on his chest.

Fitted black trousers met heavy boots armored with purple angular paneling, while dark metallic accent chains wrapped loosely around his waist and wrists.

Fujidai looked down at his hands, smirking subtly. "I see why Kai embraces his yōkai nature... This feels incredible."

"I'll destroy you!" Amanozako howled, tearing free from the shadow tendrils and lunging at him.
Fujidai didn't even turn his head. "Stop."

The divine command locked Amanozako in place mid-stride. Spinning on his heel, Fujidai delivered a fluid, mid-air kick to her jaw, sending her skidding back as she coughed up dark chi. Appearing behind her in a flash, he grabbed her collar and hurled her skyward.

Fujidai leapt into the clouds, raising his palm to the heavens. "GET OUT OF MY SKY!"
A localized shockwave shattered the sky above, blasting Amanozako downward into the stone pavement below.

Fujidai descended silently, hovering above the crater. Shadows pooled outward from his boots, covering the entire courtyard as soft, eerie whispers filled the air.

"This domain is no longer yours," Fujidai said coldly.

The expanding darkness swallowed the remaining palace sentinels, converting their spirits directly into his shadow army. He turned his back on her, walking toward the grand gates. "I'll let you live. Leave me be."

"NEVER!" Amanozako shrieked, her pride shattered. She lunged forward, her claws aimed at his back.

Without looking, Fujidai manifested a shadow scythe, executing a single backhand sweep. The blade cleaved her cleanly in half.

"Turn to dust," Fujidai murmured.

Amanozako's form withered away, dissolving into a pile of dark ash on the cobblestone floor. Fujidai paused, looking down at the remains.

"Wake up," he ordered. "You belong to my army now."

The ashes swirled, reforming Amanozako's body, now bound together by glowing black stitches across her skin. She looked at her hands in complete disbelief, then glared at Fujidai.

"No... No! This can't be happening! I am a goddess!" She swung a desperate punch at his face, but an absolute spatial forcefield deflected her fist. "That's not fair!"

Fujidai stared at her like a child throwing a tantrum. Crossing his arms, he let out a long sigh.
"Look, lady... we have a common enemy. I want Kai dead, and you're going to help me do it. But when the time comes, I'm the one who kills him. Deal?"

Amanozako stopped yelling, her chest heaving as she crossed her arms and huffed. "...Fine. I will comply for now."

Fujidai walked back to the entrance hall, finding Yuki fast asleep near her fox-dog. He gently scooped her up into his arms. "Great... a long walk home."

As his dark transformation faded back to normal, Onmoraki emerged from the tattoo on his arm. "I can help open a spatial shortcut. Watch what I draw."

Onmoraki lifted a wing, tracing ancient glowing sigils in the air. Fujidai copied the motion, pressing his palm against the symbol to tear open a void portal directly to the Dagon village.

Stepping through the portal into the town square, the villagers murmured in surprise.
Fujidai raised his voice so the whole square could hear. "Amanozako is no longer a threat. It's time to celebrate."

Cheering erupted throughout the village. Fujidai's shadow constructs roamed freely through the streets, celebrating alongside the Dagons, while Fujidai carried Yuki into a guest house and laid her gently on a bed.

Onmoraki fluttered onto a window sill. "Hey, Fujidai... something happened back at the capital where you fought Kai."

Fujidai glanced over. "Huh?"\

"Two days after the royal family left for the summit..."

Two days prior, at the Royal Capital...

Karai and Roy stood guard atop the central inner wall. The silence was abruptly broken as a royal guard burst through the double doors, gasping for breath.

Roy crossed his arms, frowning. "What are you doing storming the hall like that? This better be important."

"My lords!" the guard panicked. "Four individuals have crossed the outer gate, demanding an immediate audience with the king!"

Roy exchanged a look with Karai, then sighed. "Let them in. This better be worth our time."
A few moments later, four imposing figures strode into the grand courtyard, clad in heavy, foreign battle armor.

Their leader stepped forward—a tall man with a pale face and a raspy voice. "Hello, kids. Name's Ghoul. These are my associates: Tamika, Genji, and Knull. We need to speak with the king."
Roy narrowed his eyes. "Sorry, but the king left two days ago for a summit. He won't be back anytime soon, so you need to move along."

Ghoul rasped, "The queen is—"

"He said get going," Karai interrupted, resting her hand on her hilt. "Today is not the day to bother us."

Ghoul's eyes slid over to Karai. "I was speaking to the boy in charge. Not you, girl."
Karai clenched her teeth, her aura flaring. "Hey, bub... watch your damn mouth."

"She's right," Roy added, stepping up beside her. "You don't talk down to upper ranks."
"Regardless, we're having our meeting now," Ghoul said coldly. "Don't make us hurt you."
The four warlords broke into dark laughter. Genji, a towering brute, stepped forward. "Hurt you, boy? We are warlords!"

Karai unsheathed Excalibur in a flash of divine light. "I don't care who the hell you are. Leave now, or we will force you out!"

Without a word, Tamika drew a massive longbow, notched an arrow, and released it directly at Karai's chest!

Karai brought up Excalibur to block, but the kinetic force behind the heavy arrow sent her skidding backward, blasting her through the outer courtyard wall and into the city below. She crashed against a rooftop, quickly tumbling to her feet and drawing her blade to meet Tamika, who leaped down in pursuit.

Back in the courtyard, Roy shrugged, a confident smirk spreading across his face. "Three against one? Wow, how unfair..."

Knull stepped forward, equipping two heavy, spiked gauntlets. "Don't worry," he rasped deep in his chest. "You'll be dead before you know it."

"Oh boy, sounds fun," Roy remarked dryly.

Before Ghoul could even fully unsheathe his blade, a spatial wind-slash severed the upper half of the main palace structure in two!

Roy activated his intangibility just as the debris fell, phasing through the falling stone. Utilizing his light-speed agility, he darted through the collapsing building, scooping up royal staff and guards and depositing them safely outside the perimeter.

As Roy landed on the cobblestones, Knull materialized directly above him, spiking his fist down onto Roy's head and slamming him into the dirt.

Knull grabbed Roy by the ankle, dragging him across the ground before hurling him against the inner wall.

Gritting his teeth, Roy phased through the stone surface, snapped his fingers, and manifested thousands of glowing light-swords in the air above Knull.
"JUDGMENT EXPLOSION!"

A blinding wave of light engulfed Knull, but his heavy gauntlets began absorbing the elemental energy, dampening the blast.

Roy's combat instincts flared. Looking up, he saw Genji leaping down from the upper wall, raising a massive greatsword over his head.

"EARTH DIVIDER!" Genji roared, slamming the blade into the ground.

A massive earthquake shattered the courtyard, tearing deep fissures through the bedrock. Roy exploded upward into the air, using his light magic to bind the collapsing stone structures back together as he landed on a high pillar, panting heavily.

Roy wiped a smudge of dust from his cheek, looking down at the three warlords below.
"Well... this is going to be a long fight."
