Chapter 12:

THE TRUTH KAGAMI SENSEI REAVELED 🤫🤐

HIKARU TO ONNA

Tatsuya was just heading to his seat when Momoko marched up to him."Where’s my umbrella?" she demanded.Tatsuya completely ignored her, acting as if she wasn't even there.Annoyed by his silence, Momoko raised her voice. "Hey! I’m talking to you!"Tatsuya glanced around the room before finally looking up at her. "Are you talking to me?"Momoko knit her brows, her irritation growing. "Who else?""How on earth should I know where your umbrella is?" Tatsuya shot back."It’s at your shop!" Momoko snapped."Oh, really? Is that my shop now?" Tatsuya countered, shaking his head. "Go look for it wherever you left it." With that, he sat down, completely brushing her off.Kazuya, Masaru, and Yuki had been watching the heated exchange the entire time. Sensing the tension, Yuki walked over to Tatsuya’s desk. "Hey, Tatsuya. What’s going on?""Don't ask me about this nonsense, Yuki," Tatsuya replied flatly.Yuki went quiet for a moment, then turned to Momoko. "Wait, Momoko, what umbrella are you even talking about?"Just as Momoko opened her mouth to reply, Kagami Sensei walked into the classroom. Everyone immediately scrambled back to their seats."Alright, everyone," Kagami Sensei began, looking around the room. "Your lab group projects are finished, right? So, today we are going to start on a new power..."Sensei abruptly trailed off. His eyes locked onto Yuki, who was still trying to whisper to Momoko."Yuki! Stand up!" Sensei barked. "You are always talking!"Yuki stood up, grumbling under her breath, 'And you literally never catch anyone else but me... ugh!'

The Sensei gestured toward the open ground, signaling Yuki to step forward and demonstrate his transformation powers. Yuki took a deep breath, focusing his energy to manifest a pristine, icy snow-shell. But the moment the magic surged, something went completely wrong—the air grew intensely hot, and instead of ice, a blazing fire-shell erupted around him. Panic set in, but Yuki gritted his teeth, desperately fighting the chaotic heat, straining every nerve until he finally managed to rein it in and suppress the flames. As he stood there panting, memories of his mother’s warnings flashed through his mind. He braced himself, fully expecting a harsh reprimand. Yet, the Sensei remained completely silent. Despite the chaos the rogue fire-shell had caused, he didn't utter a single scolding word. Instead, the Sensei simply looked away and called upon the next student. Yuki stood frozen in disbelief, thinking to himself, Wow, Sensei didn't say a thing to me today! What’s going on?Once the class wrapped up and the other students began packing their things to leave, the Sensei’s voice cut through the chatter, calling out, "Yuki, wait behind."Yuki stopped in his tracks and turned around. "Yes, Sensei?" he replied, adding with a nervous shrug, "Oh, let me guess... you forgot to scold me earlier, didn't you?"The Sensei’s expression grew serious, his tone heavy. "No, it's nothing like that."Curiosity piqued, Yuki leaned in. "Then... what is it?""That day," the Sensei said, looking directly at him, "how did you manage to summon that cup made of sharp, stone-like feathers?"Yuki paused, thinking back. "I don't really know. When I was channeling my power, a terrible feeling washed over me. I felt this intense pressure inside my brain. Honestly, no one has ever偕 bothered to ask me about these things before."The Sensei nodded slowly. "And your twin brother? How does he wield his magic?""His control is much better than mine," Yuki answered softly. "He just channels it normally." He then opened up about everything that had happened to him that day, admitting, "I was completely shocked by it myself."The Sensei fell into a deep silence, his mind racing. He debated with himself whether it was truly the right time to reveal the truth to him. Sensing his hesitation, Yuki prompted gently, "Sensei?"He looked up, meeting Yuki's gaze. "Yuki, how much do you actually know about yourself?"The sudden, cryptic question caught Yuki completely off guard. He looked at his teacher with wide, curious eyes. "Are you trying to tell me something, Sensei?"As they spoke, Yuki looked out at the scenery around them. They were sitting high up on the mountain, a spot that offered a clear, sweeping view of the ominous Spreads of Demon in the distance.Breaking the silence, the Sensei said, "Yuki, I visited your house a while ago, remember?"Yuki nodded slowly. "Yeah, I remember. My mother complained about me to you, didn't she?""She did complain, yes, but..." The Sensei trailed off."But what?" Yuki pressed. The Sensei chose his next words carefully, sharing only as much as he felt Yuki was ready to handle. He looked out over the horizon and said quietly, "Did you know that the names 'Yukito' and 'Yuki' carry almost the exact same meaning?"He paused, letting the weight of the realization settle in. Because of this hidden connection, the flow of his magic was conflicted—and that was the real reason Yuki couldn't control his powers properly.
