Chapter 22:

Same same but different!!😉🧐

HIKARU TO ONNA

Later that night, the house was quiet. Kenji was in the kitchen, happily baking a fresh batch of cookies for Tokoro. However, Tokoro was sitting at the table, completely lost in deep, heavy thoughts.
Kenji noticed his gloominess and asked, "What's wrong? Aren't you happy that I'm making cookies for you?"
Tokoro looked up with a distant, sad expression. "No, it's not that... It's just... nothing."
"Well, make sure you come back soon next time," Kenji smiled gently.
Suddenly, Tokoro's face turned dead serious. He leaned in and whispered, "Kenji, the rumors are true. The people from the Space of Demon have actually tracked us down. Hitoshi sent me here specifically to warn you and protect you."
Before the words could even sink in, Kenji felt a sudden chill down his spine. The air around them felt strange and dangerous.
"HITOSHI!" a voice screamed through the darkness.
BOOM! An explosion shattered the peace. Without wasting a single second, Kenji grabbed Tokoro and dove to the side as debris flew everywhere. It was them—the deadly assassins from the Space of Demon.
"Hey, don't scream so loud," one of the grunts whispered to another, laughing wickedly. "Hitoshi isn't even here anyway."
The grunt then stepped back and opened the door respectfully for their leader, Yamikage.
Yamikage stepped into the ruined room, his eyes cold.
Tokoro stood up, shaking with rage. "What is the meaning of this?!" Tokoro yelled. "How dare you attack us?!"
Yamikage let out a cruel, chilling laugh. "Attack? Oh, please. I haven't even started attacking yet."
With a sudden wave of his hand, Yamikage unleashed his terrifying Dark Shadow Power. Pitch-black energy shot across the room like lightning, hitting Kenji squarely in the chest. Kenji gasped as the dark, corrupting energy began to spread, turning his entire body completely black.

"I will end Kenji once and for all," Yami Kage muttered, a dark grin spreading across his face.

Hearing this, Tokoro couldn't help but let out a soft, mocking smile. Yami Kage noticed the smile and frowned, but before he could react, he felt a sudden shift in the air behind him. He spun around just in time. Kenji was already there, launching a surprise attack. With a quick, desperate move, Yami Kage barely managed to dodge the blow.

Kenji stabilized himself and looked at the intruder. "What do you want here?" he asked coldly.

"I came to meet Hitoshi," Yami Kage replied, dusting himself off. "This has nothing to do with you guys. Stay out of this."

But Yami Kage (DARK SHADOW) was not alone. Standing right beside him was Ibara(THORN)  who suddenly unleashed his 'Thorn' power. With a sharp flick of his fingers, hundreds of very fine, completely invisible needles shot out from his nails, flying at lightning speed straight toward Tokoro.

Tokoro did not panic. In a flash, he created a Mirror Barrier right in front of him. This was his special protection—a barrier that reflected any attack back at the person who sent it. The invisible thorns hit the barrier and bounced straight back to Ibara. However, when the needles hit Ibara, nothing happened to him. Since the attack belonged to him, it caused him no harm.

Meanwhile, the fight between Kenji and Yami Kage was still going on. Yami Kage had a terrifying ability—his Dark Shadow power. If he used it on a human body, it would turn the person completely pitch-black and burn them into ashes within seconds. Seeing Kenji in danger, Tokoro quickly moved his Mirror Barrier and placed it directly in front of Yami Kage. This messed with Yami Kage's ability, causing his own shadow energy to turn back on his own body and create problems for him.

Sensing a chance, Ibara used this distraction to attack Tokoro from a completely different angle. Because the attack came from the side, Tokoro did not notice it at all.

But Kenji saw it.

Without a second thought, Kenji ran and jumped in front of Tokoro to save him. A sharp sound echoed as the invisible, painful thorns pierced deep into Kenji's back.

Kenji stumbled forward, clearly in terrible pain, but he tried his best to control himself. Tokoro rushed to him, his eyes filled with tears.

"Kenji! What did you do?!" Tokoro cried out, his voice shaking. "Do you know how much this hurts? The pain of those thorns wouldn't hurt me half as much as seeing you like this right now!"

Kenji gave a weak smile, breathing heavily. "You don't get it, Tokoro... Hitoshi gave you to me as a trust. Keeping you safe is a part of my life now."

Hearing those words, something snapped inside Tokoro. His sadness and anger went completely out of control. Whenever Tokoro's emotions became too extreme, his body would change. Right then, his body began to grow rapidly, turning much larger than his normal size.

Furious, the giant Tokoro attacked both Ibara and Yami Kage by himself. He bared his sharp teeth, released a highly toxic chemical from them, and bit both of them hard.

A moment later, we see two empty shells or skins lying on the ground. The two enemies had already escaped, leaving their outer layers behind to fool them.

Slowly, Tokoro calmed down and shrank back to his normal size. He looked at Kenji, still panting. "They want to kill Hitoshi, Kenji. Remember what that boy said about the Space of Demons?"

Kenji looked worried, holding his injured back. "But did they really just run away so suddenly?"

To make sure, Kenji activated his Double Side Eye Power to check the entire area for any hidden traps or illusions.

Kenji saw that Yamikage hadn't left yet. Without wasting a second, Kenji channeled his crystal power and launched a direct attack. Yamikage's voice echoed through the air, but he was nowhere to be seen.

"We will be back, Kenji. Remember that," Yamikage hissed from the shadows.

"If you have the courage, come out and face me! I'll settle all our scores right now!" Kenji yelled back. But it was too late—Yamikage was already gone.

Exhausted from the battle, Tokoro collapsed heavily onto the ground.

Meanwhile, Yuki was lying in her room with the lights off. As she glanced toward the window, something in the pitch-black sky caught her eye. For a split second, she saw a pair of glowing blue eyes staring back at her through the darkness.

Startled, she rushed to the window, but the mysterious figure had already vanished. Just then, Yukito walked into the room.

"What's wrong, Yuki? Why are you standing by the window? Who are you looking for?" Yukito asked.

window? Who are you looking for?" Yukito asked.

"I saw someone, brother... someone with terrifying blue eyes," Yuki said, her voice trembling with fear.

Yukito brushed it off. "You're just seeing things. Look, there's absolutely no one out there."

"But I really saw it!" Yuki insisted.

"Alright, alright, I believe you," Yukito said casually, not taking her seriously. "But it's probably just your imagination."

As Yukito turned to switch off the light and leave, Yuki stopped him. She finally decided to open up about the *Space of Demon*. She told him everything the mysterious aunt had revealed, their recent encounter with Kenji, and what they had discovered about Hitoshi.

Yukito listened intently, his expression turning serious. "I'm coming with you," he said firmly.

Yuki agreed, and they made a deal to skip the academy the next day.

The next morning, *Yuki brought Yukito into the Space of Demon*.

When Yuki was saying those strange things to Yukito, they noticed a mysterious man walking past them. The man's face and entire body were completely covered.

Watching him pass by, Yuki suddenly called out, "Are you Hitoshi?"

The man slowly turned his head around and asked coldly, "Who are you talking about?" Who is Hitoshi?

"Takeru Hitoshi! (BRIGHT level) " Yuki said quickly. "Do you know him?"

The man didn't say  no i don't He just turned back and started walking away.

Yuki tried to step forward to stop him, but Yukito grabbed his hand, pulling him back. "Yuki! Stop. Why are you calling him Hitoshi out of nowhere?"

Yuki blinked his eyes rapidly, looking confused. After a moment, he whispered, "I don't know... For some reason, he just really felt like Hitoshi to me."

Yukito sighed, looking at him with concern. "Lately, you've been saying some really strange things, Yuki."

*Yuki scratched his head* and said, "Actually, I felt like... we saw that guy heading towards Kenji's house while Tokoro was still asleep."

Kenji looked up, surprised. "Hitoshi? Is that you?"

Hitoshi nodded. "Yeah. Yesterday, the Space of Demons showed up. Is Tokoro doing okay, Kenji?"

Just then, Tokoro woke up. Seeing Hitoshi, he grew so excited that he jumped right into Hitoshi's arms! He was so happy that he lost control of his powers and started growing bigger and bigger again.

Hitoshi gently patted him. "Tokoro, that's enough. Calm down now."

Tokoro looked at him softly. "Hitoshi, you know... for a second, I really thought I'd never see you again."

Hitoshi turned back to Kenji. "Kenji, I know you guys fought them. Did you find anything that could give us a clue about their powers?"

Kenji pulled out the needles and showed them. Hitoshi was shocked when he saw them because they were incredibly fine and sharp—he had never seen anything like them before.

Tokoro chimed in anxiously, "Hitoshi, the Space of Demons can attack at any moment. Have you come up with a plan?"

Hitoshi replied calmly, "Tokoro, that's enough. Don't stretch the conversation. I've already seen everything I needed to see. You will stay here with Kenji and protect the village. I hope that won't be a problem, Kenji?"

Kenji nodded in agreement. Without dragging the conversation any longer, Tokoro and Hitoshi parted ways.

Meanwhile, Yuki and Yukito were still standing in the same spot, talking to each other. As Tokoro was walking outside, he noticed them. He stopped in his tracks, surprised to see how identical they looked.

Tokoro walked right up to them and said, "Hey! Aren't you that brat who showed up the other day?"

Yukito looked around, confused. "Yuki, where is that voice coming from?"

Yuki immediately recognized the voice and started laughing. "Brother, this is the big talker I was telling you about!"

Yukito looked down and saw a tiny little squirrel.

Tokoro looked back and forth between them. "Wow, you two look exactly the same!"

Yukito reached down to pick Tokoro up in his hand, but Tokoro quickly dodged and leaped right onto Yuki's shoulder.

Yuki smiled. "What are you doing here, Tokoro?"

"Aha! So I was right," Tokoro said proudly. "You are the one who went there that day and met Kenji!"

Yuki chuckled. "Not just Kenji. I also ran into a total jerk."

Hearing this, Tokoro hopped off Yuki's shoulder, got closer to Yukito, and asked, "So, how are you related to him?"

Yukito smiled proudly. "I'm his big brother!"

"But you look exactly the same!" Tokoro gasped.

"Duh! We're twins," Yukito laughed. "But wait, who are you?"

Tokoro puffed out his chest. "I am Tokoro Hitoshi!"

Then, Tokoro hopped down to the ground. He pointed one paw at Yuki and the other at Yukito, squinting his eyes. "You... and you... same same, but different!"

Yukito's smile suddenly faded. "Wait, what? Hitoshi? That's the exact name Yukio told me about!"

"Wait, are you talking about Hmm Takeru Hitoshi?" Tokoro asked. "That's my father. I'm his son, Tokoro Hitoshi!"

Yuki rolled his. eyes, muttering under his  breath, "Great. Just my luck. Of all the people to bump into first thing in the morning, it had to be this psycho."

"Who are you calling a psycho?" Tokoro snapped.

Yuki looked around innocently, pretending not to notice his glare. "Oh, nobody. But whoever I was talking about definitely knows who they are."

Tokoro ignored the jab, his tone turning serious. "The people from the Space of Demon were here yesterday."

Yuki froze, caught completely off guard. "Wait, seriously? Why? What did they want?"

"They want to kill Hitoshi," Tokoro said flatly.

"But why?" Yuki asked, her voice rising.

"Because of the crystal in the Shimaru Sector," Tokoro explained. "They've tried to steal it before, but Hitoshi always stood in their way and stopped them. Now, they figure they'll just eliminate Hitoshi first to get him out of the picture."

Yuki frowned, trying to piece it together. "What is this crystal anyway? What does it do?"

"It's the safety anchor for all the seal powers," Tokoro said. "If it shatters, the seals will weaken, and they'll be able to break through them with ease."

"So, where is this crystal now?" Yuki asked.

"I don't know," Tokoro admitted. "Only Hitoshi knows where it's hidden."

Yuki let out a breath. "So... the Shimaru Sector's main target right now is the crystal?"

"No," Tokoro corrected grimly. "First Hitoshi. Then the crystal."
