Fragment 5-2

Forged by the countless battles, the two boys had honed their skills to their utmost. They possessed strength that surpassed any normal humans and they could likely defeat most hero candidates in combat.

And yet, their powers weren't enough. The Demon Lord's power greatly exceeded everything they had seen or expected. They swung their swords, cast powerful spells, and combined their efforts as well as they could.

But the Demon Lord didn't budge.

And then, the truth was revealed to them. They paid the price for their obliviousness. A powerful curse had reached one of the boys. After losing his will to fight, he could neither dodge it nor deflect it.

And so, the Demon Lord defeated the first challenger.

Alan Welker was dead.
