Chapter 22:

An Invitation from the Demon Lord

The director of the magic school is the new student, Susie Liam

"Yes, the Demon Lord...?"

Demon King.

Wasn't that...the title of the king of black magic?

I frowned.

"You're quick on the uptake, Susie. That's right, this is a school that trains black magic practitioners. The era of white magic is over. You're from a different era than your parents."

I was so surprised that my eyes widened in shock.

Is this a school of black magic...?

"That's..."

"The chairman's job is to first find all the white magic books in the Great Library. Then cast a spell on them and burn them."

What are you talking about, Principal?

"That's impossible."

"I told you I would do the job of chairman."

"That's not the chairman's job! What a big liar! Absolutely not!"

To her as she made a fuss, Survival showed her a video of her parents' joyful reaction and the contract.

"Only the chairman can take books out of the library. He has the ability to find them. And another criterion for selection is his obedience to his family."

Susie slumped to her knees in despair.

"If you sign this contract imbued with magic, absolute coercion will take effect. Do you want to die?"

"First your brother, and now your sister... Your family must be devastated."

I left the principal's office without saying a word. I don't remember much about that night.

I was ordered to "find and burn books on white magic," and although I trembled with fear, I couldn't disobey.

My colorful, vibrant everyday life suddenly turned into a monochrome world.
