Chapter 27:
The director of the magic school is the new student, Susie Liam
Clutching the luxurious silk sheets in the canopy bed of the palace's finest suite, I curse my own powerlessness.
In the midst of her suffocating days, the library was her only solace. As a small act of defiance, she slowly searched for one book each day. In truth, she knew the answer instantly.
(So, knowing where the lost item was was due to your ability, huh?)
Deep within the silent bookshelves, Susie found an old picture book.
"Wow, it's a picture book..."
The book, imbued with a faint, pure vibration of white magic, had charmingly simple illustrations. When I was little, my brother Maxim and I often fought over it. But in the end, he would read it to me.
(Brother... what should I do?)
It was a story about a young girl who embarked on a journey into an unknown world. I found solace in that book. I turned the pages over and over again until they were worn out.
"I see. I just need to get out of here."
I finally made up my mind, without realizing how reckless it was. I spent days gathering scrap materials to make a small boat, and in the middle of the night, I attempted to escape from the island.
Like the girl in that picture book.
(I want to go somewhere. I wouldn't mind sinking into the sea...)
