Chapter 31:

I LOST MY BROTHER 🄹😭

HIKARU TO ONNA

Blinded by hurt and anger, Yuki ran without looking back. His chest heaved violently as he finally stumbled into the Sacred Seal Ground. Overwhelmed by exhaustion, his knees gave out, and he collapsed onto the dirt, panting heavily. But as he forced his eyes up, his breath caught in his throat. Standing all around the edges and even inside the Seal Ground were the dark figures of the Space of Demon. Yuki froze, his mind reeling in absolute shock. Before he could even process their presence, a ruthless female commander named Chi spotted him. With a malicious grin, she unleashed her deadly Blood Chain power, sending a glowing, spiked chain hurtling straight toward Yuki.Meanwhile, Yukito had been chasing after his younger brother, terrified of what Yuki might do in his reckless state. Bursting into the clearing just a second later, Yukito stopped dead in his position. He was stunned to see the entire demonic army gathered there, but his shock instantly turned into pure horror when he saw the lethal chain flying directly at Yuki.Yuki was completely paralyzed, unable to react. But in a split second, Yukito threw himself forward. With a desperate shove, he knocked Yuki out of the way.Clang! The heavy, toxin-laced Blood Chain violently wrapped around Yukito instead.Yuki crashed hard against the rocky ground. Dizzy, he scrambled to his feet, only for his heart to drop. Yukito was completely trapped, bound tightly by the glowing links. With a cruel, mocking laugh, Chi whipped her arm, effortlessly swinging Yukito's helpless body through the air like a ragdoll.Pure, blinding rage consumed Yuki. Wiping the dirt from his face, he didn't care about the army or his own safety anymore. He charged blindly at Chi. But Chi didn't even blink. With her free hand, she summoned another long, heavy chain and violently lashed it across Yuki's chest, throwing him backward across the dirt."Yukito...!" Yuki choked out, his voice trembling. The poison from the chain was already taking effect, black veins rapidly spreading across Yukito’s skin. Desperate to save his brother, Yuki began frantically clawing through his clothes, searching for his sacred healing ribbon. The moment his fingers wrapped around the fabric, he lunged forward to press it against his brother's wounds. But Chi caught his movement. With a swift flick of her wrist, she sent a wave of energy that blasted both Yuki and the ribbon away.Time was running out. The lethal poison seeped deeper into Yukito’s system, forcing dark blood to spill from his lips. Even as his vision blurred, Yukito gritted his teeth, desperately trying to plant his feet and stand tall, refusing to let the demons see him fall.Yuki dragged his bruised body back across the ground, reaching his brother once more. With trembling hands, he frantically pressed the ribbon against Yukito's chest, praying for the healing light to activate. But nothing happened. The ancient poison was too corrupt; the ribbon remained completely dim.Chi’s echoing, shrill laughter cut through the silence. "Hahaha! You think a pathetic little piece of string can wash away my deadly poison? What a foolish boy! Hahaha!"Looking at his brother’s bleeding, dying face, and hearing the demon woman’s mocking laughter, something inside Yuki snapped. The fragile, hurt boy vanished. An earth-shattering scream tore from the depths of his lungs, shaking the very ground beneath them."Who do you think you are?! Who gave you the right to touch my brother?!!" Yuki roared, his eyes flashing with a terrifying, dangerous light. "I will tear every single one of you to pieces!"

Just as Yuki was about to throw himself at Chi in a blind fury, Yamikaze stepped forward. With a cold flick of his wrist, he unleashed his dark shadow power. Shadowy tendrils shot out from the ground, wrapping tightly around Yuki's limbs and locking him in place. Yuki strained against the darkness, his muscles aching as he fought with every ounce of his strength to break free.

With a desperate, final surge of energy, Yuki ripped himself away from the shadows and bolted forward. But he didn't get far. From a distance, Ibara smirked and hurled a barrage of sharp, thorn-like projectiles through the air. Yuki tried to dodge, but several thorns sliced deep into his legs.

He stumbled, the pain biting sharp. He was completely alone, surrounded by overwhelmingly powerful opponents. No matter how much anger fueled him, he simply couldn't overpower them all by himself.

To the enemy, Yuki’s frantic movements and his sudden dash toward the center looked baffling. Why was he running blindly into the heart of the battlefield?

Tatsuya narrowed his eyes, suddenly realizing the truth. "We will probably find him at the Seal Ground," he spoke up, his voice sharp.

Without losing another second, the whole group—Tatsuya, Masaru, Kazuya, and Yumeko—rushed toward the Sacred Seal Ground. But when they arrived, the scene before them was entirely different from what they had expected. The air was thick with grief.

They saw Yuki on his knees, desperately trying to pull Yukito up from the dirt. The rest of the group ran to his side, their faces pale.

Yuki was shaking, cradling his brother’s fading body. "Yukito... please wake up, brother," he sobbed, his voice cracking with a pain that felt too heavy for his chest. "You were the most beautiful part of my life. If you leave me, Yukito... who will I ever call my big brother again? Hey, Yukito! Look at me!"

It was the scream of a soul completely shattered. For years, Yuki had lived in what he thought was a real family, only to face the crushing truth that it was all an illusion. The only real anchors he ever had in this world were his father and his big brother. And now, the one person who had protected him through all the lies was slipping away right before his eyes. His cries didn't just carry fear—they carried the absolute terror of being left entirely alone in a world built on deception.

Yukito couldn’t even speak a word; blood was pouring from his mouth. Yuki just couldn't accept that Yukito was leaving him like this. Overwhelmed with grief, Yuki collapsed right beside Yukito’s body, completely frozen.

But then, Yuki forced himself to stand up. By that time, the rest of the group had already rushed to the scene. The situation was completely chaotic and grim. Yuki looked over at Yumeko and said, "Yumeko, please go... go to Yukito." Without hesitation, Yumeko hurried over to Yukito's side.

Left with burning rage, Yuki threw himself into the fight, taking them on completely alone.

Yamikaze smirked, watching the reinforcements arrive. "Well, look at this. Your friends are finally here. This is going to make the fight so much more fun!"

"Oh, absolutely. No doubt about it," Kazuya replied sharply.

In a flash, Kazuya unleashed his chemical powers. A violent reaction blasted forward, completely burning and blistering Yamikaze’s entire arm.

Meanwhile, Kurokami made her move. She used her long, powerful hair to tightly bind Tatsuya, slamming him hard against the ground. But Tatsuya wasn't done. He summoned his dragon fire, letting out a massive burst of flames that scorched Kurokami's hair to ashes.

However, as the burnt hair fell, it suddenly transformed into a swarm of writhing snakes. Everyone froze in shock.

Kurokami ,[ BLACK HAIR]  mocked them with a laugh, "What's the matter? Why did you stop?"

Masaru stepped in instantly. With quick, clean swings, he sliced the heads off the snakes. "Listen to me! This is just an illusion," Masaru shouted to the group. "These aren't real snakes. It's just a trick playing with your minds. Don't fall for it!"

As Masaru cut them down, he noticed that the severed pieces turning back into ordinary strands of hair on the ground. It confirmed his suspicion—this really was nothing but a false image.

Just then, Tasumi made his grand entrance, a smug smile on his face. "Wow, look at you," Tasumi sneered. "You figured out it was an illusion so easily!"

Inside the seal ground, several others were desperately trying to break the seal. To do that, they needed to shatter the sacred crystal. They had already smashed one, but they had no idea it was just a fake copy. Hitoshi had hidden the real crystal away safely. No matter how hard Onna tried, nothing was working.Kuroba looked at her, confused, and asked, "Onna, if the crystal was already destroyed, why can't you break the seal?"Onna's face twisted with rage. "Hitoshi played us! He tricked everyone!" she snapped.Realizing she couldn't break the seal properly anymore, Onna decided to change her plan out of pure spite. "Fine," she growled, "I'll just shut down the entire system." She was going to force the seal into a broken, frozen state—leaving it completely powerless and useless, even if it wasn't fully opened. While Tasumi stood there explaining all of this, his eyes locked onto his targets. Yuki braced himself to attack, but Tatsuya suddenly.   yelled out, "Yuki! Don't look into his eyes!"Yuki quickly caught a glimpse of those glowing blue eyes—the exact same eyes he had encountered once before. He instantly whipped his head away, looking down at the ground.Tasumi chuckled, amused by their reaction. "Oh, come on. If you keep looking away, how are we supposed to fight?"Tasumi's power was terrifying. His manipulation ability required direct, uninterrupted eye contact. The moment someone stared back into his blue eyes, they fell completely under his spell. From that point on, they would blindly obey his every command or gesture. If Tasumi pointed a finger and silently commanded someone to plunge a knife into their own throat, they would do it without a single second of hesitation

Without looking up, Yuki launched a blind, powerful kick straight at Tasumi’s face, sending him flying backward through the air.Suddenly, Yasha [NIGHTS DEVIL]  lunged forward, aiming a vicious strike at Yumeko. She dodged it effortlessly, her eyes flashing with anger. "What do you people actually want?!" she demanded.Seeing that he couldn't hit her, Yasha redirected his attack straight toward Yukito’s lifeless body. Yumeko threw herself in front of the blow, absorbing the impact to protect him. Wiping a drop of blood from her lip, she stood tall. "As long as I am standing, I won't let you put a single scratch on Yukito!"With a wave of her hands, Yumeko conjured a glowing safety barrier around Yukito to keep him safe—even though his breath had tragically left him long ago.Yasha smirked and summoned a towering, hideous devil to tie Yumeko down in battle. While the creature kept her busy, Yasha yelled across the battlefield, "Akuryou! Take Yukito's body and get out of here!"The devil pressed its attack hard against Yumeko, but she refused to back down. With a burst of spiritual energy, she instantly manifested ten identical, decoy barrier shells all over the area.Akuryou froze, completely confused by the illusion."No matter what happens today, you are not taking Yukito away from me!" Yumeko declared fiercely.Akuryou recovered his composure and laughed. "Wow, such confidence! You think you can stop me?""Yes, I do," Yumeko replied coldly."Fine. Watch me take him right from under your nose!" Akuryou roared. He unleashed a massive, sweeping attack, violently shattering all ten shells at once and blasting the body hidden inside the real one.Yumeko gasped as the debris cleared, but then a sharp smile crossed her face. "You failed, Akuryou."Before he could even process her words, Yumeko materialized right behind him. She pressed two fingers firmly against the back of Akuryou’s neck. A sudden surge of sealing energy shot through him, and Akuryou dropped heavily to his knees, paralyzed. The body he had just destroyed was another fake—the real Yukito was already safe in Kazuya's protective custody.Meanwhile, another enemy lunged at Yuki, but he swiftly dodged the attack. Right beside him, Tatsuya summoned his massive fire dragons, sending them roaring into the enemy lines to hold them back.Seizing the moment, Yuki channeled all his grief and fury into his ice magic. He unleashed a colossal blizzard wave, freezing CHIs lethal blood chains solid instantly. The frost quickly crept up the chains and engulfed CHI's entire body, freezing his blood flow and leaving him in critical, helpless condition.Driven by pure rage, Yuki didn't stop there. He kept raining down one devastating after attack another, completely determined to finish CHI off for good.

Another powerful enemy named Tetsubara[IRON ROSE], a master of the Space of Demons, suddenly flicked a single rose toward Masaru. This was no ordinary flower. From its blooming petals, any kind of demonic beast could emerge—even a monstrous python from the Amazon jungle. The first rose Tetsubara threw birthed a hideous demon with terrifying, razor-sharp teeth. Masaru’s eyes widened with pure shock and fear. Before he could even react, the creature lunged forward and bit deep into his hand.In a split second, Kazuya rushed over and obliterated the beast. It immediately disintegrated, falling to the ground like worthless ash.Tetsubara smirked, completely unfazed. "Oh, you like that? Here, have some more!" she mocked, throwing one rose after another into the air like a deadly storm.Kazuya dodged a petal and yelled over to Masaru, "Hey! What is this, is she opening a flower shop? Why are there so many damn roses?!""Kazuya, do not touch them!" Masaru warned loudly, nursing his bleeding hand. "If you touch them, you're done for! The moment they make contact, they turn into demons right before your.  eyes!"Using their incredible teamwork, Kazuya and Masaru began to completely outplay the flower-wielding demon. Kazuya grinned through the chaos. "Alright Masaru, let's go put this flower shop out of business for good!"With a synchronized nod, the two of them charged, launching a devastating pincer attack from the front and back simultaneously. While all this intense chaos was breaking out on the battlefield, inside the chamber, Onna was fully focused and busy trying to pause the sacred seals. Yurie stood nearby, watching over her.Sensing the shift in energy, Yuki broke away from his fight and rushed toward the entrance of the seal grounds. But before he could step inside, Kuroba intercepted him, completely blocking his path. She drew her weapon, a cold smile on her face. "Where do you think you're going?" Kuroba challenged. "If you want to get inside, you'll have to go through me first!"

With a swift hand sign, Onna successfully paused the sacred seals. Outside, Yuki was burning with rage. He glared at Kuroba and snapped, "Get out of my way! Tell that aunt of yours to face me—the one who killed my brother!" Just then, Onna finished her work and stepped outside. Seeing her made Yuki completely lose his mind. He let out a piercing scream that echoed across the grounds, causing everyone to freeze right in their tracks.Blinded by fury, Yuki charged straight at Onna. She was completely taken aback by his sudden movement. How is he still using his powers? she wondered in shock. I paused all the seals! Thoughts raced through her mind. If this boy was truly her son, what about his older sisters? Onna had no idea about Makato's second marriage, which had brought Haru, Keito, and Mika into the family. But then she remembered—if he was her son, he would still have his powers. She had secretly hidden and sealed away the name of one of her twin sons long ago. Onna stood there, trapped in her own deep confusion.Meanwhile, Tatsuya, Masaru, Kazuya, and Yumeko realized they were completely helpless. With the seals paused, their powers had vanished. Seizing the moment, Yuki glared at Onna and demanded, "What do you want? Why are you here?" Caught off guard, Onna couldn't dodge in time and was knocked heavily to the ground by his strike. She slowly stood up, brushing off the dirt. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice trembling. "How do you still have power? I froze every single seal, yet you...""I am Yuki!" he yelled back."Which Yuki?" Onna pressed."I am Hikaru's Yuki!"Hearing her old name come out of his mouth hit Onna like a lightning bolt. This is him. This is my son, she realized with a sinking heart. Makato had never found out that Hikaru had changed herself into Onna. As for Yuki, he grew up believing that his mother, Hikaru, had simply abandoned them and walked away.Yuki screamed at her again, "Who are you?! Speak!"Onna looked at him and said, "I am Onna, the Demon of Women."Yuki scoffed in disgust. "What? The Demon of Women?!"Onna looked into his eyes and saw nothing but pure hatred. If I tell him I am Hikaru, his mother, he he will hate me even more, she thought bitterly. Yuki lunged at her again, and another intense clash broke out between the two. Since Masaru, Kazuya, and the others were still drained of their powers, they could only watch anxiously. Knowing the situation had changed, Onna gestured to her allies to back down. Within moments, she vanished from the battlefield, and her team followed.Left alone with her thoughts, Onna’s mind was in utter chaos. She knew nothing about Makato's second marriage, and now the crushing weight of reality had hit her. Yuki was her own flesh and blood. She had no idea how she would ever look into his eyes and tell him the truth—that she was Hikaru, the mother who had transformed herself into a demon.
