Chapter 31:
A Journey of True Love Under a Cherry Tree
It has been a few days since Silva and her friends left Clear Water City with a few new friends, but she was glad they came with her. They decided to defer from the journey for a while by heading to Emerald Rod City to compete in the tournament.
In the meantime, Julius and Scout continue their mission following Julian to discover what is the real story behind all of this fiance business.
It seems all of this travelling leads them to many cities hoping to find clues of him, but it seems they all lead to a dead end.
After days of investigating, they were going to give up, but it seems they finally found a clue leading to the city he might be located in.
“Julius, Should we be doing this? I mean we have been doing this for a month now and we have not come up with any leads,” Scout said complaining.
“Don’t start quitting on me now, Scout, we are almost done cracking this case, so don’t give up. The last lead we got, lead us here and I believe he will make an appearance here very soon,” Julius said, sure of himself hoping he will find Julian here.
“Right, boss, whatever you say,” Scout said.
“That is the spirit Scout, now let’s get to work,” Julius said heading out to gather more information.
Julius and Scout went around the city, gathering the information they needed to prove Lord Julian cannot be trusted.
After several hours of information hunting, they regrouped at the plaza for a drink.
“Well, from what we gathered, Lord Julian definitely lives here and they worship him as some kind of god. I just hope Silva knows what she is getting himself into with this guy,” Julius said, sipping his drink.
“Boss. I get it you are doing this for Silva to get back in her good graces, but why waste your time on this. She doesn't even like you,” Scout points out.
“Well, it does not matter. I just have a strange vibe coming out of him and I am not going to let him off so easily,” Julian explains.
“It is annoying just sitting around doing nothing,” Scout said, starting to complain while sipping her drink.
“You have to be patient and you will get what you want. Speak of the devil…,” Julius said as he spotted Julian walking by with a group of friends.
“Boss…what is it?” Scout asked, looking confused.
“Come on Scout, it’s time to get to work,” Julius said, running to catch up to Julian.
“Right boss,” Scout said as she dropped money to pay and chased her boss.
They followed Julian all across the city, where he was being kind to all the people he passed by. Julius thought it was just a disguise to hide the true Julian. Julius continued to follow Julius until they arrived at a local park where Julian’s crowd decided to sit under a tree. Julius and Scout decided to spy in a nearby tree as Scout sent probes to listen in.
“Welcome back Lord Julian. I believe your travels were a success,” Alice said kindly.
“Yes, it was very innovative. It might have been long and tiring, but I managed to find what I was looking for,” Lord Julian pointed out.
“So…I take it you found what you have been looking for?” Frank asked.
“Yes…and it turns out this magic I am looking for is in my fiancé, but it will be difficult to steal it from her,” Lord Julian explained.
“Why don’t you kill her and steal it, you do have the ability of stealing other people’s magic,” Alice pointed out.
“Yes, this is a delicate matter, so I have to take my time with this,” Lord Julian explained.
“I hope soon because I am ready to take over the world and I am willing to do anything to get there,” Alice said ready to fight.
“Don’t worry my darling, it will be soon,” Lord Julian said snuggling Alice.
“Well, I guess we should be calling you God Julian,” Frank pointed out.
“Yes, I like the sound of that, but what I don’t like is dogs listening in to a private conversation,” Julian said, launching a fire ball to the tree of where Julian and Scout were spying.
“Well, look what we have here, the lamb sent her lap dog to spy,” Frank said kindly.
“I knew you could not be trusted, you are the worst kind of man,” Julius spitted out as he was pinned down.
“I am not sure what you are implying, but I am sure you fall in the same category as I do, but now the only question is, what we should do with you, any suggestions,” Lord Julian said kindly.
“I know, he can be my new pet,” Alice suggested.
“Well, we can lock him in the dungeon and let the beast eat him alive,” Frank suggested.
“How about we do both and see how long he lasts, take him away,” Lord Julian suggests.
“Scout, get out of here, find Silva and tell her what we found out. Don’t worry, I will be fine,” Julius shouted to Scout.
“Right boss,” Scout said as she broke free from her captor as she began to run and cry, leaving her friend behind.
“After her, don’t let her escape, she will ruin everything,” Julian shouted angrily.
“Not so fast,” Julius said, fighting off Julian’s guards.
“Oh, you are so going to die now,” Julian said, knocking him out.
“Good luck…,” Julius said before fainting.
“Julius…,” Scout said as she stopped running and cried for her boss.
Elsewhere….
“Ah…Ah…,” Silva said with great pain.
“Silva, what’s wrong?” Terrance said, catching Silva.
“I am not sure…I think Julius is in trouble, I never felt this much pain before,” Silva explained.
“How is that possible?” Lisa asked.
“Well, she might not be a full goddess yet, but a goddess can feel her people’s pain if they are on the brink of death. We better take a break,” Terrance suggested.
“Yes, we should, I think the girls are getting hungry and my feet are tired,” Lisa said resting by some rocks.
“Alright, let’s take a break,” Seth said, preparing everything for lunch.
“Very well. I am worried about Julius, so we should go and rescue him. I think I know how,” Silva said, trying to catch her breath.
“How? Lisa asked.
“As High Lord, Julian, will be there at the tournament. This will give us a chance to defeat him once and for all. How dare he lie to me,” Silva explained.
“Right, we only have ten days left to get there, so we better hurry,” Rufus explained.
“Good, our next mission is entering the tournament and saving Julius, ready everyone,” Raquel pointed out.
“Right!” everyone shouted.
