One Victory Is Not Enough

Japan celebrated for only a few seconds.

Then the broadcast showed the rest of the battlefield.

Kurogiri's warp mist moved through the clearing. Twice's clones rushed Class 1-A from several directions. Himiko Toga darted between shadows with her knife, while Mr. Compress waited for any chance to touch a student.

Yuto had defeated Dabi, but he was barely standing.

The reporter's voice turned tense again.

"Kanzaki has won against Dabi, but the fight is not over! The remaining League members are still attacking Class 1-A!"

Viewers who had been cheering fell quiet.

"He looks exhausted."

"Can he still fight?"

"Where are the Pro Heroes?"

In the vehicle, All Might's expression tightened.

"Young Yuto has reached his limit."

Aizawa checked the road ahead.

"Ten minutes."

Midnight clenched her fist.

"Too long."

All Might knew she was right.

Ten minutes was an eternity on a battlefield.

Yuto had fought Muscular. He had brought down a Nomu. He had defeated Moonfish, Spinner, Magne, and Dabi. No matter how strong he was, a body had limits.

Back in the clearing, Yuto tried to take a step.

His leg nearly gave out.

Momo saw it and immediately moved between him and the fight.

"Yuto, stay back!"

"I can still..."

"No," Todoroki said, ice spreading from his foot. "You have done enough."

Bakugo blasted past them.

"Don't get in our way, half-dead swordsman!"

Yuto stared at him for half a second.

Then he gave a faint smile.

"Then prove you can handle it."

Bakugo's explosions flared brighter.

"Watch me!"

Across the clearing, Kurogiri noticed Yuto's condition.

"He can no longer move freely."

Twice laughed and contradicted himself at once.

"Then we win! We are in huge trouble!"

Toga's eyes shone. "Yuto-kun looks tired. He still looks amazing."

Mr. Compress snapped his fingers.

"Then let us end this before the professionals arrive."

The League pressed forward.

Class 1-A braced themselves.

One victory was not enough.
