Chapter 1:
Drowning
A young girl smiles, Her wonky teeth beaming at the camera that her dad holds in front of her. He takes the picture and slides it into his pocket, The world's strongest bond that could never be pulled apart. Except it can, So easily, too easily in fact. That special bond can be ripped away so easily, As an angel's wings spread and fly higher and higher until you can't see them anymore. Although there pain and suffering was taken away, It was immediately passed on to me. Like a fire spreading ruthlessly through dry bark trees. Every day you are reminded by the smallest things, Like a specific songor looking at a happy daddy-daughter duo, And then the drowning comes along. You see these things and your breath is ripped away from you in an instant. The tears flood but you bite your tongue to get rid of them. But you know when you get home, a hot river of salty tears will flow unstoppably down your cheeks.
