"The Reverse-Flash wants to stir things up."
A strange smile appeared on Damon's face. He looked at Felicity and laughed softly.
"I know who it is. If he wants to make trouble, I will play along. When are you going back to Starling City?"
"Probably as soon as possible," Felicity said. "You know my 'work' keeps me busy too."
"Then I will not see you off. After you get back, help me with something."
"What?"
Damon leaned close to her ear and spoke softly.
"What? You mean Dr. Harrison Wells? Is that... is that even possible? Oh my God. All right. I understand. I will go back now. If I find anything, I will let you know."
After her initial shock, Felicity's expression turned serious.
"I will wait for your news," Damon said. "And tell the others I will deal with their matter later."
"Mm."
Felicity nodded. She and Damon came down from the Disciple, packed her things, and then she left.
The Reverse-Flash's real name was Eobard Thawne. To make Barry Allen become the Flash, he killed the real Harrison Wells, used future technology to alter his appearance, and impersonated Wells while researching the particle accelerator. Incidentally, Iris West's boyfriend, who was also Joe West's partner, was named Eddie Thawne.
Yes. Eddie was the Reverse-Flash's ancestor.
If Eddie Thawne died, the Reverse-Flash would disappear.
Damon, however, had no intention of doing that. The Reverse-Flash wanted to cause trouble? Then they would see who caused trouble for whom. He wanted to go home so badly? Fine. Damon would make him stay forever in the era he wanted to escape.
The task Damon gave Felicity was to have the Birds of Prey find the real Harrison Wells's body. Damon did not remember where it was, but with the Birds of Prey's abilities, they should be able to track it down.
As for making trouble, the rule was simple.
Whatever the Reverse-Flash least wanted to happen, Damon would make happen.
The purpose behind Reverse-Flash's move should have been to push Damon away from Barry Allen and stop him from causing problems for Barry.
Unfortunately, that meant the opposite would happen.
Sorry, little Barry. This is not personal. You are collateral damage.
Damon remembered plenty of metahumans created by the particle accelerator explosion. Multiplex, who could endlessly create duplicates of himself. The death-row inmate who could turn into poisonous gas. The bomb woman, Plastique, whose touch made people explode. Pied Piper. Captain Cold and Heat Wave from this timeline too.
In the original story, those villains appeared one by one and were eventually handled by Barry Allen.
But what if they all attacked together?
Central City would become a mess.
With Barry Allen's personality, he would never sit back and ignore it, but he was not ready to handle that kind of pressure. Reverse-Flash, meanwhile, could not let Barry get killed, so he would have no choice but to step in.
When that happened, could Mr. Oscar-Worthy Actor keep up the performance?
Would Reverse-Flash's identity be exposed?
And if the Birds of Prey found evidence on their side, then things would become even more interesting.
"Since I am already making trouble, should I make it even bigger?"
Damon thought of the villains from Earth-Two.
Zoom: Hunter Zolomon.
Cisco Ramon's Earth-Two double, Reverb. Caitlin Snow's double, Killer Frost. Ronnie Raymond's double, Deathstorm. If Damon brought all of them over, the fun would be enormous. Even Reverse-Flash and the Flash working together might not be enough.
The hidden final boss?
Damon would take that role.
Reverse-Flash had no idea his little move had given Damon the urge to make a major headline. On the contrary, he was glad he had made his decision in time, especially after learning that Damon had toyed with Barry Allen the night before and nearly made him fall to his death.
Barry had survived, and the experience had even helped him learn how to run on buildings, but what about next time?
Harrison had spent years scheming and was finally close to success. He would not allow even the smallest accident.
He began training Barry Allen proactively, helping him raise his speed. Barry, who wanted to become faster to protect Iris, happened to want the same thing. Their goals aligned immediately. Over the next several days, Barry spent almost every day at S.T.A.R. Labs, training with the help of Reverse-Flash, who was wearing Harrison Wells's face, along with Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow.
With Reverse-Flash as an experienced teacher, Barry Allen's speed improved quickly.
During that time, Damon seemed to vanish from the world. He did not contact Caitlin Snow, nor did he trouble Barry Allen again.
What was Damon doing?
He was looking for people.
Since he had decided to create chaos, he had to move. While continuing to familiarize himself with the Speed Force so he could handle higher speeds, he also found several metahumans.
The first was Multiplex. Originally, he was an organ-cloning specialist. After finally achieving a breakthrough, he intended to save his wife, who needed an organ transplant. Instead, the company president stole his research. With no other option, he experimented on himself to grow the organs, only for the particle accelerator explosion to happen. His wife died before the transplant could be performed, while he gained the ability to create unlimited duplicate bodies. Damon found him just as he was about to kill the company president in revenge and persuaded him.
How?
With his fists, of course.
The second was the Mist. The man had been an assassin for a crime family, only to be made the scapegoat. During his execution, the particle accelerator explosion gave him the ability to turn into hydrogen cyanide gas, laced with a sedative component. The ability sounded difficult to handle. He could turn into gas, and inhaling even a little would kill a person. But Damon simply used Weather Wizard's power to control the wind, trap him, and exhaust his stamina.
After all, shifting between a human body and poisonous gas consumed his strength. Once he could no longer become gas, he was just an ordinary man.
The third was Girder. He could turn his entire body into steel, somewhat like Colossus in the Marvel universe. When Damon found him, he was still defiant. One punch put him down, and he became obedient.
It was worth mentioning that Girder and Barry Allen had been classmates. Back in school, Girder often bullied Barry. If they met again, Barry would surely remember many "happy" memories.
Aside from those three, there were two other people Damon wanted to find.
One of them was currently fifty meters away.
