Chapter 1 (Part 3) "The Uneasy Alliance" [Volume/Mission 1]

Part 3

I’m in a car that was currently driving on the way toward the Soviet embassy, with me in the back of the car as I only stared helplessly at the car window.

With the events that happened today, I just couldn't believe that I met the top agent of the CIBastards, and I already had him at the end of the line. It was a big win for me and for the Motherland.

…But in the end my Commander just let him go.

While I was in my deepest thoughts. The Commander sitting in front looked at me using the car mirror, and handed me an ice pack.

“Here, take it, you don’t look so good.”

It wouldn't be kind for me not to take it, so I had to. And placed the ice pack on the bruise on my cheek…it hurted a little bit… But, hearing his words, I just can’t deny what happened just a few moments ago. I already had him, but why let him go.

…That was my question in mind, but I decided not to ask that and just bit my tongue. I decided to ask a simpler question.

I adjusted myself and crossed my arms as well as saying the simple question…

“Why let him go…”

The Commander hearing my question sighed then picked up the car phone and called someone.

As I saw that action, I knew who he was going to call…

As the call was picked up, he handed it to me and I took the phone and spoke—

“Hello?”

“How’s my agent friend in East Berlin? I hope it was fun.”

A voice with a full and happy spirit answered me. It was Kira, my desk officer who was back in headquarters. It was nice to hear her voice again after I was sent here to East Berlin just yesterday.

“It’s good to hear your voice again.”

“Hmph, I don’t think you do.”

“Wait—what’s that supposed to mean?!”

As I said in seriousness, she laughed in response… 

“Hahaha, you really are always serious, light up for once will ya. Anyway, I heard you met Agent Six of the CIA just now, right?”

She asked that question while avoiding something she said just now that was absurd. But, it’s true. I really need to light up for once…just like three days ago. For now, I must focus on the issue of today first.

“Yeah, I met him.”

“That’s great. I heard boss man already picked you up there.”

…What does she mean by great? It was absolutely horrible…

“What’s so great about that?! I was beaten up by him badly, you know? Why would it be great if I have bruises on my face!”

“Woah, just calm down. I know that the introduction between you and Agent Six was horrible. But you must at least listen to me as I will explain the current situation going on… You see—”

Before she could explain the situation she was cut off by the Commander and explained the situation himself in a serious tone. 

“—You see, intelligence says there is a situation going on in Europe just two days ago that is also connected to the situation that just happened to you and Agent Six a while ago with men in grey and black lounge suits, and also the delivery of that new type of MP 40. The CIA in the West also had a similar intelligence. The growth of something from the ashes of the old war. We and the West call it, ‘The Nazi Remnants’.”

WHAT?! How could this be? There’s no way such a group could exist in the start…especially from Europe. After all, the allies will make sure no group or any remnants from the Nazi’s to survive—even on day one.

With that question in mind, I began to think deeper with me placing my hand over my chin. And also connected today's events to this new information.

…It does make sense after that situation after all. I heard the old man saying something about revenge against the West and the East as well as serving the old from the ashes of the old war, and he also said something about a Doctor working on the weapon IMP 1 that the men delivered to him moments ago. The men were also calling the grey old man Captain.

It’s no coincidence. Since that old man was a veteran for the Germans before. He also said it himself with the presentation or delivery of the IMP 1 with experience. 

“If that’s the case then—”

Before I could finish…

“—Hey, BOSS MAN! Don’t just steal my line! I’ve prepared that line since yesterday, day and night I kept practicing this moment. But you! You greedy old man just wasted it all!

“Hey! You even practiced it during work hours yesterday, and the others complained about it as they were never able to stay focused on work that day. I was told they will work overtime if I do this.”

“Is that so… Hey you! Are you one of them!”

“...Hey wait! I wasn't part of it. I never complained at all! Those guys did it…”

“...Hey are you framing us! You were also part of it, LIAR!...” ×10

“...That’s it! I’ll make sure to call one of my comrade’s comrade who has a big appetite and make her finish all of the food in the cafeteria!...”

“...Please, we’re sorry! Just spare the cafeteria food for our dinner…” ×11

Voices of fellow comrades could be heard in the distance. Hearing that commotion from headquarters, the Commander slowly and disappointingly slid his hand onto his face.

Well, the only thing I could say is that: Kira never changed one bit since I left headquarters. She’s still full spirited as always. 

…With that in mind, I broke off into a smile by just thinking about it…

With the commotion still going on in the call. The Commander, hearing enough, took the phone in my hand and dropped the call. He deeply sighed after dropping the call and said to me—

“With the information I told you. The reason why I let him go, is because the agency of the west and the east—KGB and the CIA—will have a temporary alliance to eliminate the Nazi Remnants. If that’s done the alliance will also be done.”

WHAT?!!! Why would I work with a capy on this mission! I’m already good enough to handle it…

“Sir, why not just send me in to eliminate the threat, I’m more enough to handle it. We don’t need such an alliance with them. The cause won’t accept this…especially for the KGB!”

“Sigh… You see, agent Furious Wolf, if it wasn't a big threat and only a threat to the east, we wouldn't have created this alliance in the first place. But, since this is a whole threat within Europe, we didn't have a choice.”

“Sigh… Fine, Commander. You win once again.”

“I’m glad to hear that, agent Furious Wolf. So, you will be partnered with one of the States agents from the CIA. You two will have a mission against the Nazi Remnants.”

…Oh no, I have a bad idea about this…

After all, Kira said something about me meeting Agent Six. And hearing the Commander's words on being partnered with a CIBastard agent. I began to feel a strange bad feeling about it.

With that in mind, the Commander announced my partner—

“Your partner will be…”

Yep here it goes…

Finally the Commander said it—

“Agent Six.”
