The End Of The Continental War Part 2

Vienna, Austria

An explosion shook the room, broke the windows that were in the corridor, I could even feel the expansion wave and my fox ears felt like they were bleeding because the noise was so loud that it broke my eardrums of the fox ears. But I was alive, and I could still hear a beeping sound in my normal ears, so I could still hear a little when the effects of the blow wore off.

"Hell that was pretty close to ending badly" I said out loud.

I got to my feet as quickly as possible, but when I saw again where the dark girl was there was nothing, she had left somewhere. I tried to quickly check the place but there was no sign of her. So I assumed that she had really retired. Seeing that I had finally cleared the place of threats a bit, I got another shot of adrenaline. Now I only had one left, as one of them broke with the explosion of the grenade.

Then I was able to finally get close to one of the computers and started using it. And by sheer luck, it was unlocked, ready to be used, surely when they gave the order to evict whoever was using it, left it behind without noticing. Later when I could regain my hearing I listened to how the radio seemed to have been playing for a while.

"What is this?"
"Valkyria is entering the data of her own project!"
"What is she doing?" Said the young woman War lady.

"Is she acting on her own !?" The mysterious woman who was her superior responded in panic.
"How is it possible that she is capable of that!"
"She isn't acting just on instinct !?"
"And how did she know where that data was!?"
"We have to stop it now!"

I discovered you while you were talking to each other
In fact, I have not had to do anything to get the information. you gave it to me.
But I think they must be horrified to see that their "Weapon" has been revealed to them, I would be too.

While the radio conversations continued, I began to search through the files on the computer. But most of the things that were there were monitoring data and numbers to know what.

"Here War lady"
"Phoenix team where the hell are they? I'm almost reaching the place, I need you there now!"

"Phoenix 1"
"Right now we are entering the building, it will only be a matter of time to find her"

"Here Arcadia 1"
"We are still a few blocks from the place, we are under enemy fire right now I will need a little time to reach them"

"War lady"
"The helicopter is landing now, Phoenix send someone to pick me up now"

"And what happened to the sedatives!?" asked the woman in charge of everyone else.

"We also don't know why it doesn't work" Replied the young girl.
"We have already applied the full dose but it still does not work"
"She should have been unconscious for a long time but it had not taken effect"

"There was also a vulnerability to that!?"
"It's completely out of our control and it's attacking one of our bases"
"This is no accident"
"I want to know what is happening!" answered the other girl.

Well at last I found the file on security measures!

It seems that in order to be on a long-term mission behind the enemy lines they did not apply more extreme measures, but it says that I do have a locator next to the collar.
I don't have any kind of additional restriction !!
Also says that he should be able to live like any normal person !!

Now if it says that I have a GPS on my collar, how is it that the Alliance has problems finding me?

"Teams on the ground listen up" Said the leader to everyone on the radio.
"If they don't succeed with the plan, I'll have to advance the missile bombardment of the place. So you should vacate the place if you see that this is not going to work out well"

But that last transmission did not come out of my radio, there was someone near the door of the room. They are already here!

Without time to escape the confrontation I took my rifle and fired at the entrance. My gun was unloaded so I started reloading it immediately. The moment which the soldier take advantage of to enter the room and attack me. Seeing that I would not have time to ready the weapon before he pointed it at me, I better jumped on him and pushed him with a kick.

"Damn it's fast, I couldn't shoot" he exclaimed.

It was Cedric. He had a serious face that he almost never reveals, he was dirty all over, and dark circles on his face for which he undoubtedly had several days of fighting. Seeing that I hesitate for a moment to see him, he took the opportunity to speak to me directly.

"What do you think you're doing!!"
"We were supposed to be allies!"

"What am I doing?"
"Trying to get out of here alive like everyone" I replied.

When I was distracted by responding to him, he tried to hit me with a punch, but I stopped him with my injured arm and hit him in the face with the other

"I accept it"
"That was a good hit" he told me.
"But why are you doing this we're finally close to ending this"
"To be able to have normal lives"
"And you come to fight just because you wanted to?"
"Don't you have enough battles already?"

"Do you think something awaits me after this?" I told him.
"If I don't get out of here now will be the end for me"
"If I stay with you they will kill me too"
"I'm not going to allow it just because someone tells me to die in silence"
"And look me in the eye when you talk to me!"

I heard something behind me!
It's a trap!!

I threw myself sideways to avoid whatever it was they tried to throw at me.

"This is bad" said Cedric.

"That was very good" I spoke to him.
"Distract me to shoot myself from the other side"
"But"

I fired my rifle without looking back. Only to hear the scream of one of Cedric's men taking the impact.

"Only an evil being would do something like that!"
"I'm not going to let you hurt anyone else!" Cedric responded in anger.

"It hurts me that you are only able to see in black and white"
"The world is not just good against bad"
"Many times you have to do things that you do not want, just for something that should be simple such as to stay alive"
"Maybe you will understand when you are older and it is you that they are hunting like an animal"

Again he came back to hear another sound, just near the entrance the previous soldier had used. I was preparing to attack again. But seeing that maybe I could use this and the captain's innocence to he trying to become the hero again, I decided not to kill whoever it was and would use him as a hostage.

"Who is the one behind me this time?"
"Do you really think the same trick will work twice?"

"War lady watch out!"

I ran to the entrance and took her hand and put her between me and Cedric. And just as he had warned, it was a girl. She was quite pretty, young, had Asian features, black hair, and dressed like any civilian who shouldn't be in the middle of a military base in a war zone.

"Help!!!" she exclaimed.

"That voice!"
"But you really are War lady!"
"It's nice to meet you in person!"
"You have no idea how much you have helped me to do all this"
"How much time is left before they hit this place with bombs?" I said trying to sound like a villain to see how Cedric would react.

"Let her go!"
"She has nothing to do with this !"

I fire my weapon in warning mode at Cedric.

"That she has nothing to do is this?"
"Do you think I don't know how the world works?"
"Just look around"
"A civilian would not be in a place with so many soldiers in the middle of a war."
"How much time is left?"

I aimed at her head.

"About 10 minutes to go"
"Please let me live, I haven't done anything wrong" She responded terrified and crying.

Okay, I think I went through a lot in my act of doing the bad guy. Seeing that I already had everything I needed from here, I began to approach a window in the corridor through which Cedric had entered, and with a jump, I stood on the edge of it

"Okay then it's time to get out of here"
"Bye! take care"

Then I left there with another jump and started running back to the metro station to the north.

During my way, I was able to see the missiles that were heading towards the base where I was and see the explosion they made. In addition to the fact that the sleep I had was getting heavier so I used my last adrenaline injection and prepared myself for the final effort.

I had managed to return to the building from the beginning of my journey and walked the subway now with a smile on my face knowing that I was already close. But just when I got to the room before the portal I saw that there was something out of place, someone had adjusted the place a little, had made a barricade, and a fairly large weapon came out of it. I barely jump to avoid it, but the shot from that thing hit me in the leg. Luckily I hadn't lost it and I could walk yet, but right now was not the best time to lose mobility.

"How did I realize my attack?" Akane said after seeing that she narrowly missed her target.

I knew it!!
Nothing ever works out for me for long. How many people have tried to stop me today?

Akane was trembling as she looked at me and reloaded her weapon, Unlike Cedric, she was quite neat and clean, plus you could tell that she had even gained a little weight. How the hell is that possible when the food is calculated to the millimeter so that the soldiers are fit!
Also, I was wearing a different special outfit than the one I was wearing the first time, and having it now is pretty bad for me. But what is she doing in this place?
Was she waiting for me to come here? How do you know this place if it was supposed to be secret?

"Why has the whole world been against me today?" I started complaining out loud
"Get out of the way I'm in a hurry!"
"I'm not going to let a rookie bother me anymore"

"Rookie??"
"I have a year fighting for the alliance!"
"Who do you think I am?" She said angrily.

One year!?
Since I died, it's been so long !?
I have only been absent at most 4 hours adding what happened today!
So much time wasted !!

"Get out of the way!"

I said as I started shooting him with the gun.

She managed to dodge it, Although it is not that I have to beat her. Just by getting to the portal I win
All I need is to get her out of the way

Seeing how she has reacted before to how I speak to her, it seems that she does not like being told about her lack of expectation in battle. So I thought of angering her so that she would approach me so that I could immobilize her and thus go to the other room where the portal awaits me.

"Are you really been at the front for a whole year?"
"You constantly forget to remove the safety from the gun, you have a badly fitted shoe, you don't check for traps, you don't move under covers and you stay a long time near the windows"
"How have you been alive so long?"
"Usually the soldiers who make these mistakes are the ones who don't live long"
"Unless you only stand guard at one base all the time"
"That and eating enough to gain weight"
"That's why you had to change your suit!" I said every insult that occurred to me that could affect her.

"Shut up!!"
"You know nothing!" she answered me as she rushed against me

Just when she used some thrusters that the suit had to gain speed, I summoned my Avalon sword that appeared right in front of me stuck in the ground. The next thing that was seen was a girl hugging the flat sword comically with her head. It was so strong that I knocked her out right away. I for my part started to laugh after seeing what just happened.

Seeing that I had a clear path again, I advanced, only to suddenly run into a scientist in front of the portal. It was Brandon, the same one who had stumbled upon me at the beginning of all this and who apparently had been investigating me

"Did you also discover this place !?"He told me
"First the portal does not close despite being disconnected from the power source and now you appear knowing where it was directly"
"Who you really are?"

But since the dream I had was getting heavier and heavier, I decided to just ignore it and point my gun at it. I dragged myself to the front of the portal and seeing that maybe they could follow me I decided to make one last move, destroy the portal right after I used it

I took the grenades that I had left and unlocked them. Brandon was scared when he saw that and ran away.

Right after I jumped into the unknown while at the same time falling asleep and also destroying the machine that gave me the freedom.
