Too late

They arrived to the capital just to find it destroyed. They were surrounded by monsters of darkness, everywhere they looked there was only destruction. Kazu went into a rage killing all the monsters around him then he rushed towards the castle, but she grabbed his hand.

“Are you going to rush in? Even after you see all this?”

“Let go!”

And he continued rushing towards the castle. As he entered the throne room he found a man sitting on the throne with the princess holding his feet.

“I see. I was announced that someone was investigating my home while I left.”

Kazu didn’t spoke a word and he started running towards him. He got up from the throne and started running as well. As they met at the middle Kazu teleported behind him but he reacted fast enough to dodge his strike, as he bent to evade he left something on the ground and then jumped over Kazu to be behind him this time. He didn’t have time to turn around because the thing he left was a blackhole. He got stuck in place and four creatures of the dark jumped on him bitting him by his hands and feet, holding him even more in. They were hiding in the shadows of the room.

“This is quite sad. Even after you saw what I got through you still want to save this kingdom. You saw it, right? After all I had my journal there. It was the only thing that could keep me sane. So let me ask you, why do you want to save this place?”

“This might disappoint you. I’m not a complicated person. I found what I needed here. It may be flawed, it may be rotten but here I found happiness, so no matter how I need to struggle, I will fight for this place.”

As he said that he blew off the mouths of the monsters with a bright light. The blackhole already disappeared, but his arms were really injured partially from his ability.

“I see. So that’s your affinity. This is going to be interesting.”

And they charged at each other once again.
