Chapter 3: Letter

Recap:

Gale was unconscious from the one sided fight with the dungeon boss.

And now he faces the hurdles of waking up in a hospital, and seeing a girl in the morning. The girl that informed her about the dungeon, Yuna.

As I just woke up, I clearly saw a girl organizing flowers, beautifully smiling to the flowers as if it was a child talking to their mother. Yuna the girl who is an acquaintance of mine at school and only at school, is suddenly the first person I see the first thing I wake up.

Time passed and she still hasn’t noticed that I was looking at her. It was such a nice experience to see a new side of someone. While basking in the new tender side of Yuna, she turned looked to the side and got to see me, “”Ehh~”” I remembered what happened to the people who try to hit on Yuna, she was a student that has the looks and the brains so there would also be an endless amount of guys who try to confess, people also stalk her and she didn’t want that so she beat them up, and the only thing that she said was that “Well they looked at me, and I didn’t like that so I beat them up” in an indifferent tone. And the only thing I knew in that moment was that… “I FUC*ED UP”

The doctor comes in to the room and sees me being beaten up by Yuna. But I guess she didn’t notice the doctor because she kept on with the beating.

“Cough, cough. I see that the patient woke up, can you excuse me miss, I need to run test on the patient now.”

“Oh, please do” said Yuna, whose personality went a full 180 but she went and looked at me again and said “I’ll let this pass for now!!!”

Thank you doctor for coming here on time, I don’t know what would happen to me if you were a second late.

After flashing a flashlight to my eye, the doctor said to me.

“Do you remember what happened to you?”

“Well, all I remember was that I ran inside the dungeon and got attacked by the boss.”

“Your pretty lucky kid, to have survived an S-rank dungeon boss.”

“I’d like to ask a question how did survive?”

“It was a miracle, that you were able to survive being pierced that big. The hole you had was too big that a lot of S-rankers just to close it. Since you were still alive and the people who were injured outside were being treated by the lower ranks, and those who went in the dungeon found you. It took seven S-rank healers to heal you.”

“Did the people who went in the dungeon defeat the boss. All I could remember was up to the part where I got impaled to the wall and nothing pass that.”

“Wait wait wait!!!” I don’t know why the doctor was so shocked so I just asked.

“What’s the problem did I say something wrong.”

“SO, YOU’RE TRYING SAYING TO ME THAT YOU AREN’T THE ONE WHO DEFEATED THE BOSS?”

“Yep, isn’t that obvious? How am supposed to kill something like an S-rank boss, take flip flops and do a boomerang attack?”

“Well, the thing is before the party could even fight, the boss was already dead. They thought it was you who did it. Well now, who knows. There’s one thing certain though…”

“Go on Doc, don’t leave me hanging like that.”

“Well, do you know that there were lots of militaries deployed there?”

“To guard the dungeon? What other reason would they be there?”

“It’s good you know because it was not announced publicly that the dungeon was S-rank. And to keep the fact that the dungeon was like that, they put camera’s there, and you were the only one who entered that day.”

‘Well, if I was the only one who entered that day, it might be true, but it’s impossible for me to defeat that boss’ I shivered as I remember thing that happened that day.

“What about the days before that?”

“Do you not know how the dungeons work?” the doctor seemed to be getting pissed with me, because I ask lots of questions.

“Let me tell you this kid, dungeons are somewhat similar to a door, the monsters are like this cog. If you remove the boss the others won’t either.” somehow I understood what the doctor was saying.

“So, that would be impossible because the monster stopped at that day is what you’re saying. Because that day was the day that the boss was killed”

“Well, I’m done with your test, you just need rest now, and you can be discharged by four or five days.”

“Thanks, I hope there won’t be a next time that we see each other again doc.”

“Yeah, oh and another thing, in about there was a letter that came in for you while you were out. We couldn’t give it to you so we just gave it to your mother.”
"Okay thanks for that." I thanked the doctor as she was closing the door to the room."A few days later like what the doctor had said I was ready to be discharged from the hospital.My mom picked me up and we went straight home.while opening the door I remember the things the doctor said from the hospital ' there was a letter that came in for you while you were out.' "Mom, I heard that there was a letter that came for me when I was out. Did you know what is was for?""I left it on top of your desk."I was wondering why would there even be a letter for me. when I looked in my room I saw the letter where my mom told me."Here it is, lets see what this is about."To whom it may concern We are informing you that you will be having your exams on xx/xx/xx and that you would be required to take this test due to a dungeon break in your district. We will await your compliance to this...."I read the top part of the letter and what's this about an exam when the whole school's already a pile of rocks."'who sent it? The school should be out for about a month since everyone got affected by the dungeon break.'
When I looked at the bottom of the letter. It said " HUNTER'S ASSOCIATION"
