Chapter 19:

Chapter 19)

Avalon

"YAGHHH! HOW COULD YOU! IT HURTS! YOU'VE TORE MY PRECIOUS ARM! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU DAMN YOU DAMN YOU!"

"Would you shut up and die already? It's already annoying enough that I had to come out here and stop whatever this is. But having some annoying weakling yelling at me is ticking me off even further."

A boy could be seen with a large sword in his right hand. The sword held two ring hilts, it's handle looked as thought it should be held with two hands. The blade was long, and carried small holes in between the blade. It held a fierce blue aura that enveloped the blade, shaped like a flame, it never burnt out.

The boy had black hair, almost a dark grey, which was medium in size and covered his ears. His hair did not cover his forehead, and was wavy as it blew against the wind. His eyes were the shade of blue fire, and held an almost bored look. His face was sharp, as his eyes stared intently at his target.

"NIGHTMARE! ATTACK THIS BOY! LEAVE HIM SCATTERED IN PIECES!" The hooded figure yelled, as he turned around with such sudden movements towards Ogata.

"At least...! At least I'll be able to turn you into something beautiful! You aren't perfect! You need to despise! To bear an enraging hate! I will give you that ability! Then, only then will you become perfect! Ahaha! AHAHAHA!"

Ogata watched with heavy breathing as he saw the hooded figure reach down with the black crystal in his hand. The sharp point of the crystal aimed directly at his heart, which would surely pierce through.

"Tatsu."

As the hooded figure reached Ogata's heart, the sudden voice of the boy echoed through the coliseum. The hooded figure glanced towards the boy, as he could see the large blade of the sword point directly at him. It was a moment, but it was too quick even for the hooded figure to react to. His head cut cleaning in half, falling to the floor as blood gushed from his exposed neck. His body fell with the head, leaving only blood to spill and form a circle across the dead man and Ogata.

"What a waste of time."

"Ogata!"

Iris, who had been watching the events unfold, rushed towards Ogata, who had been bleeding profusely since the mysterious man had cut him on the stomach. Both of the deep gashes that tore open both his stomach and chest turned his clothes into a dark red, as he lay there staying into the sky with sub-conscious eyes.

"Come on, Ogata... You can't leave us just yet..."

"Is this that guy who was supposed to be our so called 'Hero'? How did he lose to such a weakling?" The boy scoffed, staring at Ogata's face.

"That doesn't matter right now! He's bleeding way too much, if we wait any longer he'll end up dying!"

"If he dies, he dies. The weak shouldn't be helped, and if he lost, then that's his fault for being so weak."

"If you have nothing useful to say right now, then just stand back, Morant."

With an aggravated look, Morant stood back, his sword disappearing from his hand as he held his arms crossed.

"Looks like I'm needed, aren't I?" Barsanti's voice suddenly emerged, Iris turned around as she could see Barsanti walking towards her. "Luckily for him, I always carry healing medicine, just in case."

Grabbing a small glass bottle from a small bag from the inside of his robes, he carefully opened the bottle and poured the liquid into Ogata's mouth. By the time all of the liquid had been emptied, the bleeding had stopped from Ogata's body, leaving only the wounds.

"It seems that he's lost too much blood, he's practically unconscious right now. We need to head back and let him recover."

Barsanti leaned Ogata's body over his back, allowing him to carry him back to his store. He turned to Morant, a smile forming from his lips.

"It's been a while, hasn't it?"

Morant said nothing, his sharp eyes staring at Barsanti as he turned forward, walking out of the arena.

"Are all the civilians safe? Were there any other nightmares?" Iris called out.

"Not at all. I guided them back to their homes, and there shouldn't be any more trouble caused in this city now that that man is dead."

"Thank goodness..." Iris sighed, worried for the innocent people, the city of Modena had not prepared for any sort of harassment from the nightmares. It was rare for them to appear at all, as the city was so distant from other cities.

"We need to talk, Iris." Morant had called out, as Iris turned his direction with a displeased expression.

"Why didn't you take him directly back to headquarters? That was the exact order they gave you."

"There was sightings of a nightmare in the city. There was no way I wasn't going to eliminate that threat. You know this city can't handle nightmares, they were never trained for it."

"It doesn't matter. And what is this with you associating with him? You know he isn't apart of the group anymore. He has no business with us, and neither you."

"What has he done for you to dislike him so much? If it wasn't for him, Ogata wouldn't have survived just now."

Morant looked at her with a blank, sharp expression.

"If that was all, then you aren't needed here. Tell them that I'll arrive in a few days, we need Ogata to recover from his wounds if he wants to make it."

"I had orders to stay and make sure you arrive."

"So be it." Iris turned around, walking over to Barsanti to help him in aiding Ogata back to the store. Morant stood at the coliseum a few seconds longer, looking at the dead body of the mysterious man, before finally walking out of the coliseum with Barsanti and Iris.
