Cat Hate Part 1

 I hear someone yelling at me.

"Hello? Are you awake?"

My eyes pop open and I see that I'm perfectly fine. I touch around my body to make sure I'm all intact. I look in front of me and see an angel. He doesn't look like your average angel. He's wearing a tee shirt and has a hat on. His golden hair is shining, but it looks like the light is ready to die out. He's also wearing sandals with no socks.

"Where the hell am I?"

"Welcome to Limbo! I have amazing news for you!"

"Am I not going to hell?"

"Yup! Even better you get to go back to living and get a wish because you are the 1 trillionth death!"

"Do you know how many deaths there have been?"

He's still smiling and doesn't say a word for a moment or two.

"Well, congrats on your lucky day! I mean not all dead people can go back to the land of the living and get a wish!

My brain melts for a second thinking about having to go back.

"...Shit that's worse"

He gives me a disappointed look

"I'm over here giving you literally an offer of a lifetime and you're mad?"

So, I give him a disappointed answer

"Live my life then tell me how you like it."

He points out the most important part

"I'm surprised you don't want your wish."

"Wah- Wish!?"

"Yea if you were actually paying attention to what I was saying I said you get a wish."

My brain starts to race thinking of all the things I could fix or mess up, but then it hits me.

"I want my friend back."

"I can't bring the dead back, sorry it's a law that heaven and hell agreed on."

I pause for a second and I realize again.

"I see... well can you give me a new cat?"

He seems surprised at my answer.

"A new cat huh..."

"Will that be hard?"

He starts to think very hard and puts a hand up

"No, no, no. That's just a very interesting wish. Yea that's perfect! Ok, here's the thing, you already know who it is."

"I have...?"

"Yup I can't say where, but you have."

"Damn, well thanks I'll try to look for it."

"Ok welp see you later!'

A chill runs down my spine.

"Shit, that's right I'll be seeing you later, scary"

He has a relaxed look on his face

"No need to dwell on it too much you'll have other things to worry about!"

I start to worry

"Huh? What's that supposed to mean?"

I go black. I hear one last thing before I go back.

"Oh! So that's who that was! I'm gonna take a break for a bit to watch this one!"

I can feel my heart racing again and I jump up from resting. I realize that I'm inside the local hospital with no injuries. I look around to see my friend. His brown hair looks like a mess as usual.

"Oh, look who finally decided to get his ass back to the land of the living?"

"Hey Forres, What the hell happened while I was out?"

"The doctor said you didn't break any bones and just needed some rest some fucking how. You're a lucky shit you know that right?'

"Hell, yea I am. Wait, are you ok?"

"Yea it was just in time, I'm sorry I should've been paying attention."

"Lucky you have me around, right?"

"Wow for someone who got hit by a car only 3 days ago you sure do know how to stroke your own ego."

I take a pause for a second and realize what he just said.

"3 days?"

"Yea man you've been out for a second."

I remember about my wish and the too relaxed angel.

"Shit then I need to hurry."

"Calm your tits man, we need you to be checked out by the doctor before you can leave."

"Oh right."

After a few more days in the hospital, I finally got to leave. I came back to having a pile of work at school, but I didn't really care. The day I got out, I started looking for my cat. The first day showed no signs of luck. I went to sleep that day feeling more excitement than I've ever felt in a while. The next day when I got to school something weird happened.

"Hey Pierre, you hear about that black hair beauty that's joining our class?"

"Oh great, more people to avoid."

"Come on man I don't think it would hurt you to at least try! You're missing out she's on another level of hot."

"Man do I need to call the cops because you're sounding desperate for anything right now."

"Suit yourself then."

I get to the class and sit down as normal and then it happened.

"I would start teaching you all today, but the world has other things in store. Today we have a new student, please treat her with care. Come on in Elis."

When she walked in the entire class was silent. It was amazing, I've never seen someone walk so nice. Her eyes were as green as a frog glistening in the light. Her skin was so pretty without a single messy part in sight. Her hair was black and shining in the light the windows were open and were blowing in her hair making it look even more beautiful. Then someone closed the window and her hair fell over her face. I laughed extremely hard. Everyone gave me a dirty look and I realized how awkward it was.

"Pierre, are you done laughing at our new student?"

"Oh, come on you have to admit that was out of nowhere and pretty funny."

"I will not, just for that you're going to show the entire school to her and clean up the room instead of the Janitor today."

"Shit."

Everyone else laughed except for her. She lifted the hair off her face and put it behind her again.

"Hello there everyone, I am Elis!"

The laughter died down and everyone said hello.

"Oh, and I look forward to later on today, Pierre, your laugh sounds pretty cool."

That caught me off guard.

"Who the hell calls laughing cool?"

The teacher raises his ruler and his voice and points to the outside

"If you want to have drama class, please do it in drama class down the hall."

"How about you shut the hell up teach? And you know what? I can make slamming your face into a wall dramatic too."

The teacher slaps the wall.

"Elis go sit somewhere that is open, Pierre if you continue, I'll make you regret coming back."

"Good, more reasons for me not to come back."

"Alright then, let's get start class before someone gets into deep trouble."

School goes on and I'm left in a shitty mood. No one wants me around which makes me more at peace. I try to rest under a tree near my house and then out of the higher branches the girl from earlier comes out and is hanging from it. Her hair is in my face, and I can't see much.

"Guess who?"

"Not anyone that I give a shit about~"

"Correct! I forgot to say thanks for showing me around"

"You really are an annoying one you know that?"

"Well, you see I'm actually an undercover detective trying to figure out your secret."

"Try me, you won't find shit because I don't have one. Now back the hell off."

"Uh oh he's coming for me. I need to leave now I'll make sure that you come clean!"

"Yea, Yea."

She goes back into the tree. I mumble to myself thank God. She made me feel uncomfortable, she smelled so much like a cat. She can't be a cat that's stupid- A man with barely any breath comes up. A man in a suit that looks like it's made for only the highest of businessmen prepare. His head was full of hair, but it was all grey. His armpits were drenched in sweat. He looked like my father on a good day.

"WHERE THE HELL IS SHE YOU RAT?"

He smells like he hasn't taken a shower in days.

"Oh god you reek! Go clean up that shit smell of yours before I vomit!"

He grabs me and I can smell his horrid breath. I hear Elis giggling. He looks up at the tree and asks

"What the hell is that sound? You hear that right?

As I'm just dangling from his hand, I yell at him.

"IT'S MY TREE! It's old and all so you know it can be a little creaky and such!"

I try to act normal, and it seems he buys such a stupid story.

"Little edge moron I'm not here for your games show me where you hid Elis, or I will do something that I really don't want to do."

Is this what that angel from earlier was talking about? Other stuff I must worry about?

"Get the hell off of me you crazy man, I don't know what the hell you're talking about now leave me alone."

He pulls out a knife and a contract.

"See these? I'm her agent and I saw you with her."

I start to worry for what type of people this girl hangs around.

"I'm not blind, and if you're an agent I can take a photo of what you're doing right now and send it to the police Mr. Shitz"

It's almost like you could feel the heat radiate off him, or maybe that was just his sweat.

"MR. SHITZ- Listen here runt, I may be afraid of the police but I'm not afraid of your ass. Don't talk to my star ever again."

He tries to get close to me, but I pull up my phone and take a photo of him. He seems to get the message and backs off.

"Look what you did, Now I'm gonna have him on my ass every time we talk."

"Huh? You knew I was still here?"

Elis flips out of the tree and sits by where I am, I scoot over from her

"It's pretty obvious when I could hear your damn snickering so loud! Even he could hear it!"

Elis looks surprised.

"Why didn't you rat me out? Just a second ago you were so cold to me, such an emotional switch!"

I start to realize how stupid I was acting. Trying to protect someone again after trying to push them away.

"Ha-ha... Yea..."

"Well, thank you I'm honored thanks to you I can roam around for a while longer!"

I laugh nervously and shake my head to clear my mind

"So, what the hell was that whole thing about that contract in his hand?"

"Well, he's my music agent."

"Oh, so you're one of those amazing singers that is shielded by the world, how original."

She tries to sing, and she sounds horribly off key

"JEEZ WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?"

"I can't sing for my life."

"The how in the world did you get a music agent?"

"Simple, there’s more than one way to make music and mine is dubstep."

My eyes widen and remember the music from earlier right before I was hit.

"Wait, were you the one that made me get hit by that car?"

"Huh?"

I shut my mouth and realize what the time is

"Shit, You and your rat of a manager wasted my time I need to go now."

She looks at me with a smirk on her face

"See you!"

And like that she was gone, and I was left alone with my thoughts. I'm glad she's gone. I get up and go home. When I get back home, I lay in my bed and question.

"What the hell did that angel meant by me already met my new cat and where the hell is my new cat?" With that I close my eyes and go to sleep for the night.
