Same Face, Different Memories

Rell looked at her, confused. 

"Ah, you're bleeding pretty bad." He said, kneeling down to help her. 

Rell reached into his trouser pocket. Luckily his dressing kit was still there. He pulled out a roll of bandages, some disinfectant, and a needle with thread. 

"Let's patch you up." He nodded. 

"Okay..." Elena shook her head. Rell suspected she was dizzy from the blood loss, as well as the fading adrenaline from the fight earlier. 

He got to work, cleaning her cuts with disinfectant and sewing the wound on her arm closed before bandaging it. He also dressed the wound on her side, wrapping the rest of his bandage roll around her waist to cover it up after cleaning it a bit. 

"Thank you..." She muttered. 

"Who are you!" The light orb jumped in front of him suddenly. "You're no Sister. You're... that human from earlier?? You're alive?!?" 

"Uh, yes I'm alive." He replied. "And yes I'm a human. Why wouldn't I be?" 

"But that's..." The voice of Rin stopped herself. "We'll explain that later. Can you help her get to the main station?" The orb gestured at Elena. 

"Of course." he replied. 

"Good. We've got allies there that help escort the two of you outside the city." The orb said. 

"Why? Was the city lost to Shadows? How long was I out?" Rell asked. 

"Later. Please help out our Sister. I promise we'll fill you in." The orb said. 

"I was going to help her whether or not you asked me." Rell said. "She's a very precious ally to me." 

"Pretty weird for someone you just met." The orb commented. 

"We've known each other for a long time." 

"Huh?" Elena was still in shock, but that didn't sound right to her. 

"Okay..." The orb took note. "Lock you up later, got it." 

Rell ignored that comment, helping Elena to her feet. 

"Here, lean on me." He offered his shoulder. 

Elena's face went crimson. She didn't know why, but the thought of leaning on this human's shoulder embarrassed her. 

"Come on." He prompted her. 

"Yeah..." She took his offer, leaning on him. 

"What happened while I was out?" He asked as they started walking. 

"Well, how long were you out?" She asked. 

"I don't know, you tell me. This tunnel is definitely worse for wear, even for a couple days." Rell said. 

The shrill cry of Shadows echoed through the tunnel, causing Rell to come to a stop. 

"They're still looking for me. I really pissed off those leviathan class." Elena commented. 

"I thought you killed it. There's more?" Rell asked. 

Elena stopped, looking at Rell with a genuine sense of confusion. However, there was certain sense of familiarity to him. She'd never met a human before, but she felt as if this one, she had seen once before. 

"Alicia?" He looked at her. "Why are you looking at me like that?" 

"Who's Alicia?" Elena asked. "My name's Elena."
