Chapter 28

Leaving that adventurer team behind we continue on and we encounter another monkey further on.
Just as I am about to kill it the rogue yells for me to stop.
What? is it an endangered and protected species or something?
'that monkey is an anograt, it's a C rank threat at best but that's only one of them.
They come in tribes with lots of numbers and overwhelm you, the worst part is that they have the skill vengeance that some say they are born with, it makes them strike in blind rage at those that kill one of them.
They will not stop until they enemy is dead and they swarm with everyone that is nearby which is usually the whole tribe.'
Sounds like trouble but something like that would be killed off quickly right?
The elf continues, 'the anograt are originally from the demon controlled lands on the western continent Daz so they are not as big as a problem here.
They have been culled enough and they don't have any super strong individuals here either unlike on their homelands.'
'it will still be a problem though if they are left to increase their numbers so we need to report this one too, we should reach a bigger town soon so we can report it there along with the centipedes' says the healer.
She sounded pretty good there, so she can be reliable.

2 weeks have passed now and we have made good progress, we are half way to the dungeon and have arrived in a bigger town.
It's near a lesser dungeon so its population has been steadily increasing though being in the middle of the country away from the coast means it won't be as successful as them.
Especially when it's surrounded by mountains and forests, even so it is doing well.
'a giant horde of centipede and 2 anograt sightings?' says the mayor of the town.
The mayor was put in place by the monarchy and enjoys his success because he is their cousin but even so he has done a good job for this town and it shows in his body that's a bit fatter than normal.
The adventurer guild is not as established in this town yet so the mayor handles the issues the guild usually handles as well.
'it does seem like an issue but we have not heard of anything outside of your report, we can't commit the force needed to deal with these threats'
The girls understand and offer a solution, scouts.
'send some scouts and you should be able to verify the centipedes no problem, the monkeys are another issue' answers the rogue.
I am currently outside because everyone was frightened by me and it almost resulted in a fight with the guards here.
'yes, that is the easiest way, now then, about that spider'
'we have permission from the adventurer's guild so it's fine, he hasn't attacked anyone either despite being threatened by the guards, that should be proof enough that he won't be harmful right?' intervenes the rogue before he speaks.
'I understand but this spider is on another level than a bear or some other commonly dangerous creature,  the fear it instills onto others from its mere sight should tell you that'
'I understand that but we won't be here for long so you can just let us pass through instead of making it a big deal and having our time here extended'
'I suppose so'
She is really laying it on so we can go, it's annoying but is it worth all this fuss?

I'm sure the king has already heard about this spider however he has not made any move to eliminate it.
I shouldn't take it upon myself to do it especially since the adventurer guild seems to back this group.
Would anyone in power not be done with a threat such as this? it is not even enslaved with magic or is it?
I'll just let it go for now, it shouldn't be a problem, in the first place can my forces even beat this monster?
After a minute of thought the mayor lets the group go.

'hey we really need a name for our group' says the healer as we are heading out of town after stocking up on food.
'I thinks so too, the 4 spider women'
'that's lame and we might get more members right?'
'I think we're fine as is but if we come across someone good then I dont mind letting her in'
'the name will come naturally as the people start naming us themselves' says the elf.
'that's right, some big adventurer teams have nicknames too'
'yeah so let's just keep going and it'll all fall in place'
