Chapter 28
While she was so amazed by how great her past-self was, Ban wasn't amazed. Rather he was shocked. He couldn't believe in what he heard. Light notices that.
Ban thought to himself [Wait, she couldn't be that person. I have already told Light to tell me if she is reincarnated. He promised that if she is reincarnated he would first tell it to me. Don't tell me that he lied to me about that promise and didn't tell me that she got reincarnated.]
Light replies to him :"Don't worry. It's not what you are thinking. I didn't lie to you. She is a different person from the person you are thinking of. She couldn't do it. Also You can see that by her reaction and personality. She and the person you are thinking are not the same. They are both unique individual."
Ban feels ashamed of himself because he thought that Light was lying to him and apologizes to him :"I am sorry for doubting you like that."
Light looks at him and replies to him with a big smile on his face :"Don't worry I am not angry or sad because of that. It's normal that you thought like that. So you didn't had to apologize."
Natsumi was confused about what they were talking about. Naturally she got curious.
Natsumi asks him(Light) out of curiosity :"What are you guys are talking about?"
Light was going to reply to her but Ban stops him by moving in front of him and putting his hand in front of him indicating that he(Light) won't have to say anything rather that he will say it.
Ban replies to her after that with a gentle smile on his face :"It's nothing. Light and I was trying to make you confused and curious because he told me to act like this in front of you."
Light replies to him :"What?"
Natsumi thought he lied cause Light didn't tell him to act as anything. If he would have told him to act like that she would have heard it because she was sitting in front of them on a chair. Also Light just said What?
Natsumi replies to him(Ban) :"You are lying. I thought that only Light would do something like lying to make fun of me but it seems like even you do it sometime."
Ban understands why she thought that he was lying and replies to her :"It's not that. Did you forget that me and Light can read human's mind."
Natsumi replies to him :"But Light said What?! Didn't he say that because he is surprised by your lie?"
Ban replies to her :"He wasn't surprised because of that. He was surprised because it was supposed to be a secret. Right, Light?"
Light replies to her :"Well, you know. It's not like any of my word have any meanings."
Natsumi replies to him :"I understand. Light won't stop o guess. That's why you will always be hated by me. Forever."
Light [See. Because of you. But I won't lie. No matter what. Also you have repay me for this.]
Ban [Really? For this]
Light [Remember that]
Light asks her with a bored expression on his face :"Ahem.. Can I continue about what I was saying? Or don't tell me you forget that already?!"
Natsumi actually forgot that already. He was talking about her past life. Her past self.
She replies to him(Light) :"What were you talking about?"
After she said that she immediately remembers that what he was talking about. But it was too late to say that she remembered it. Light already heard what she said. He sighs once. He then punches his own face with his right hand. Ban was surprised. She was surprised. But
Even though it was a little late after he punched himself. Natsumi replies to him(Light) after remembering that :"You can continue. I remembered. You didn't have to punch for that. Though I am happy you did that."
Light replies to her with an unamused voice :"Talk, you guys were talking like you guys were having fun. Either way I don't matter here. What am I!?! Well, if I have to say, other than you two, everyone. I mean everyone thinks of me as someone special. I am the most-"
Natsumi interrupts him by asking Ban with the same smile she had which Light said it was the smile of Satan on her face :"Ban, do you have any kind of bat? A pan would do too."
Ban replies to her questions :"I don't have a bat here, but I have a pan in here."
Out of curiosity of why she would ask him That, He asks her :"Btw what do you need it for?"
Right before she was about to reply to him(Ban), Light realizes what she will use that bat or pan for after hearing that conversation. She will use it to smack him. He also realizes that she will do whatever it takes in order to get that bat or pan. He knows how painful it would be if she takes it cause she already beat him(Light) up once already. He starts sweating in fear and starts to tremble
Light replies to her in a panic and hurry :"I remember!!. She was a normal person on that time like you are now."
"Also wasn't a very normal person until a few months before she died." He said that quietly so she won't be able to hear that.
As he expected. She couldn't hear that. Natsumi thought that he(Light) was joking so she laughed. She only laughed one single moment.
She stops laughing and asks him (Light) :"You are joking, Right?"
Light stops sweating and replies to her normally :"It is not a joke."
Natsumi didn't expect that. She was a bit confused. But she believed in him. Cause even though she hates him and he also knows that, but he didn't lie to her once. But she couldn't understand why her past-self wished for something that was not beneficial to her. She is also a normal person like her past self was. Why she didn't choose some selfish wish like her then? Why did she actually wished for that? Those questions arose in her mind. But another question also arises in her smooth mind.
She asks him :"Wait a minute. She is dead, right?"
Light replies to her immediately :"Of course, she is! How could you even get born if she didn't die?!!"
Natsumi replies to him :"Ban said that I am not a special person whose wishes got completed before they died rather everyone will get there wishes completed before they died."
Light nods his head to indicate that she is not wrong about that
Natsumi stands up from the chair and looks at him with serious eyes. She the asks him :"Then why my past self couldn't get her wish completed???"
Light was surprised by that question cause he thought she already know it. He was a bit disappointed when he realizes she doesn't know that
He replies to her :"Good grief. You thought that I am a ruthless and selfish God just now, didn't you?"
He looks at her and saw that she was staring at him with red angry eyes. He continues :"But let me tell you that, you are wrong. In the beginning of humans history, they could live more than a hundred years but now it's about seventy at best. The reason because of that it's because of human's wishes."
Natsumi got confused after hearing that from him. She asks him(Light) :"What are you trying to say?"
Light replies to her :"I am trying say that, human's lifespan got lower than before because of a human's wish. Let me also tell you that I only fulfilled the wishes of great humans that impressed me. Not everyone could do that. So everyone couldn't do that. After Ban became a substitute God, I started to fulfill every humans wishes before they die so that they could live without regrets. That's the reason your past self couldn't get her wish fulfilled. Cause she died before he could become a substitute God."
Natsumi was shocked and a bit depressed after hearing that. That the humans were the one giving despair, less time to other humans, to newer human.
Natsumi asks him :"I understand what you are trying to say. But why did you want to talk about my past self's wish?"
Light wasn't only shocked, but he was totally disappointed after hearing that from her. He looked above him and slapped himself on the face with his right hand.
He then replies to her :"I thought that you are a sharp girl but now. I am totally disappointed on you."
Natsumi get a bit irritated after hearing that and said this :"What made you to get totally disappointed in me?!?!?"
Light moves his hand from his face and replies to her :"Because you couldn't understand why I said your past self's wish."
She gets even more irritated and she asks him(Light) :"I am sorry! That I couldn't understand what you were trying to mean by telling me that! So I want to know why did you want to talk about my past self's wish??!!"
Light looks at her and replies to her :"I guess I have to tell you directly. Don't beat me up because of this. I have told all of this because I wanted to tell you that, you have to fulfill other humans wishes. Meaning The people that will die after you."
