Chapter 5: From D To A Part II

By the time we made it to Tayuya and Kurai, it looked to be already too late for him. There were many craters in the ground and a fairly deep one in the center. Where a boy with short red hair was frothing at the mouth. His hands clutched at his throat, and the kid's raven mask lay next to him. His grey ANBU gear was also cracked and in pieces.

Tayuya stood in front of him, playing her soundless flute. She seemed to not care that we had arrived, instead focusing on the boy she was killing. A wide smile plastered on her face as if she enjoyed watching him suffer. Damn. I take it back; I'm nothing like her.

"Kurai!" Kai disappeared away from me. A howl echoed in the area. "Passing Fang!"

A whirlwind appeared, drilling into the ground where Tayuya stood. Until the raging torrent slowed, and out of it came Kai. He growled with his hands and feet on the ground as if he were a beast.

"Ha! So he was friends with a mutt." Tayuya stood on the other side of the crater unscathed. "Good. He was boring me. Imagine causing all this destruction to not even put up a fight. I guess even you ANBU are trash."

"Kabura! Beast Human transformation!" Kabura howled in response to Kai and became a clone of him. "You two save Kurai. I'll take care of her." His eyes gleamed red, and he had a three Tomoe Sharingan, but what amazed me was that Kabura also had a pair. Is that what an Inuzuka-Uchiha could do?

"Hahaha, So you really are a mutt!" Tayuya placed her lips against her flute. A drop of blood dripped from her hand, signaling the start of their battle.

Sui and I followed Kai's orders and went straight to Kurai, who was still choking himself. I gripped onto his arms, pulling at them to keep him from dying. He didn't budge. His grip was too strong.

"Stand back. He's trapped in a Genjutsu and a good one at that." Sui had both her eyes revealed.

I backed away and watched as she placed her hand on Kurai's chest. Her blue chakra erupted, flowing around her. It started to cross over to him until his chakra sprang forth. A bright red color poured from his body and swallowed her chakra entirely, forcing Sui to pull her hand away, sweat beading on her face.

"Damnit, he has too much chakra compared to me." She said, trying to catch her breath. "I can't disrupt his flow."

"How about I try?"

"No, you can barely disrupt your own chakra flow. It's better if we just get Tayuya to stop the Genjutsu." Though, Sui didn't look too confident in that plan.

I turned around and saw their fight. Kai seemed to be unfazed by Tayuya's Genjutsu as he continued to put her on the back foot. She jumped, ducked, and sidestepped Kai and Kabura's attacks as if it were a game.

"Is that all you got, mutt?" Tayuya continued to sling insults at Kai in an attempt to rattle him, but he seemed to ignore or rather not even register what she was saying. Was that why her Genjutsu wasn't working? Because Kai's mind was akin to a beast's? I wasn't sure, but I knew that someone would eventually make a mistake.

"Release the Genjutsu now! I don't want to kill you." Kai growled, arching his back.

"That's big talk coming from a puppy."

"I was hoping you'd refuse. Kabura!" Kai and Kabura nodded to one another then a howl echoed in the crater. "Fang Passing Fang!" They both became twisters drilling through the earth, rocks and dirt shot everywhere. Sui and I stood in front of Kurai, protecting him from the debris.

"Another waste of fucking time!" Tayuya jumped up, dodging them with ease. "I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks." She said while mid-air.

Even though what Tayuya said made no sense, that didn't stop Kai. His twister ricocheted off Kabura's, and they both spun into the air flying towards her. They aimed to catch her in an intersection, and to top it off, the twisters blazed to life coated in fire. "Fire Style: Flaming Fangs Jutsu!"

My eyes widened at how he combined multiple layers of Jutsu on top of each other. He truly was worthy of being an ANBU.

"Ahahaha, that's your trump card." Tayuya's smile faded, and she looked down at the two incoming whirlwinds of wind and fire. Blood flowed from her hand. She started to speak as if it were a whisper, but Tayuya didn't know how to do that. "This village truly is weak."

"Kai, watch out!" Sui screamed, her eyes wide.

"Too late! Summoning Jutsu!" Tayuya placed the palm of her bleeding hand down onto the air. Black markings of various kanji appeared, and two buff men over 180cm appeared. One was peach skinned, and its eyes were wrapped entirely in bandages. It looked like an older version of the little monster that she had attacked me. While the other wore black armor, and its face was covered by its long shaggy hair. They both grabbed the mini flaming tornadoes that were Kai and Kabura, stopping them in their tracks. Then I heard a thud.

Sui and I stopped paying attention to the fight as Kurai had fallen face-first into the ground. We were running out of time, and Tayuya was probably not going to be stopped in time. I had no choice.

"I'm going to release him." I kneeled next to him, placing my hand on his body emitting my purple chakra, but nothing happened. I didn't get the same feedback as Sui, but it didn't look like a positive one either. I closed my eyes, concentrating. I tried it again, and still, nothing happened. Then I felt something soft lay on top of my hand.

"Your chakra control could use some work," Sui said beside me, her hand entwined with mine. "But aren't you lucky I'm here to teach you."

"Sorry. You were right. I have a hard enough time controlling the chakra within me, let alone someone else's."

"Cool and humble. What have you done with my Yuki?" Sui said with a laugh.

"Well..." I stared at Kurai's body, struggling with whatever horror he was faced with, and it reminded me of Sasuke. "I just don't want to see a ninja die on my first mission."

"Are you sure that's what you want?" She nodded her head in the direction of Kai and Kabura, who were both being choked by Tayuya's summons.

I closed my eyes and opened them. The feeling of the world slowing down and the coldness that came with it filled me with shivers. I didn't want my third Tomoe. At least not yet. I wasn't ready for the pain. "Only for today. I'm no hero. So saving people. That can't be my thing."

I gave Sui a smile and felt her hand clench around mine. I was unexpectedly met with the sweet sensation of her lips. A quick peck was all it was, but it motivated me. My purple chakra overflowed from my body as a warmth spread through me even with my Sharingan active. She really knew what it took to get me going. Her blue chakra mixed with mine, creating a bright violet color that overpowered Kurai's red chakra.

"I know you can't see his chakra points, but just follow my hand and inject your chakra there, ok." Sui turned off her Sharingan and seemed to be concentrating purely on her Byakugan.

"Following you. I can do."

We moved our hands across all 361 of his chakra points. With our combined chakra flow, we had enough to destabilize his. Causing him to cough a couple of times before we felt his body relax. His heartbeat was back to normal, and it seemed he'd live and was just unconscious. I relaxed my eyes relieved.

"We... we did it!" Sui and I hugged each other and were happy until we heard a crunch followed by a scream.
