Chapter 12:

Chuuni Pt2

Fallen Omnipotent Writer Perspective

As someone who'd always been a bully magnet throughout his life, Ben understood one thing.

If you couldn't garner respect, then let it be fear.

The same could be said for 'Male Leads'…

Since they had to be interesting, some amateur authors would go all in on one particular path.

Either they were grasping for the Female Lead's attention using whatever means necessary…

…or they were genuinely respectable adults.

Regardless, edgy romance writers tended to lean towards either one or the other type of toxicity.

The first type was 'poisonous'. One that made readers hope that the lovers could just fix things up or break things off. Either one or the other without much compromise, despite its subtlety in story.

Sidmund Tailor had that sort of story. Even though they had 'sex', there was no attachment to have.

Their relationship was much deeper than the body.

He was also respectable thanks to his principles.

However, the second type of toxic relationship muddied stuff up with those 'insatiable appetites'.

It was a toxicity akin to sulphuric acid on the skin.

A primal relationship that had nothing to do with the relationship itself and more about 'sexiness'.

When the readers just want them to 'make love'…

Xian Wu Xia, now known as 'Kane Wong', was that sort of character. A person written to be real 'hot'!

His mix of American and Chinese heritage took the best of both worlds to complement his physique.

A tattooed left arm and bandaged right arm…

…throwing around black wind and dark flames.

Muscly, but not too bulky. Aggressively featured, but not too horrifying. His eyes squinted sexily.

A dashing appearance that wasn't the least bit hampered by the makeshift eyepatch of bandages.

The arms of his shirt opened to show his skin…

That glowing sheen was just like sculpted marble.

The thing most important to note for Ben in particular was the existence of his two ring tattoos.

On each of his ring fingers was a tattoo that signified the curse of the golden rings of past lives.

After all, the fact that he was slaughtering nearby giant bugs and flying in the air wasn't the problem.

The Delusionist quickly turned to Julie and roared:

"You have to hide!"

"W-why?" She was suddenly caught off guard.

"Explanations later. Hey, you…!"

"Me?" Augustus Grayson pointed at himself.

"You and the rest stand on one side. The rest of you keep on the other. I'm going to negotiate with that guy myself." Confusion filled the room after hearing him. None sure what was happening.

"Aren't you going to ask my opinion?" Carelessly getting orders wasn't their earlier agreement.

"…Please." He looked at them like he really needed their help. However, perhaps this wasn't too bad.

After all, there was no one courageous enough to want to talk with the scary person slaughtering giant insects in the sky. They were terrified of if this person was even a human being to begin with.

That theory wasn't one they could gamble with.

Since someone was willing to throw themselves to the front, why not let him become their shield?

'I wonder what she has to do with this…' Augustus thought, which was the same thing for Julie.

'What the heck did you write about me?!' She'd already vaguely figured out his reasoning, but knowing it just made her want to inwardly curse him more. Hopefully, things wouldn't go wrong…

At least, that's what she sincerely hoped.

After the figure in the sky finished slaughtering the the flies like the vermin humans treated them as, a silhouette dropped down like a flying shadow. The figure instantly made a hole landed between them.

His eyes seemed to be searching for someone…

Ben already knew what this person was searching for. He just couldn't allow this bastard to see her.

An air of intimation silenced everyone there.

All of them were hoping for the other to speak up.

Or for their representative to speak up first.

Ben was the first to step forward to greet him:

"Are you looking for someone?" He made sure not to act too passively, but also not too aggressively.

The person in front of him was a ticking time bomb!

"…I'm looking for a man named Sidmund Tailor." As he asked that, the man didn't notice Ben's eyes.

The Delusionist's pupils dilated momentarily.

He glanced towards empty air… There, the former butler was lazily watching this show patiently.

The ghostly spirit was wondering where this would go. After all, he knew the 'plot' of that Webnovel.

How this 'serious' Chuuni with a dragon sealed arm and unholy eye is supposed to discover his lovers.

The reincarnation of 'Brunhilde' and 'Gudrun'.

"Deal with your own mess. You're the one who made him this unstable." The ghost sighed softly.

He felt pity for the broken man. The unbelievable power Kane Wong held was grown through pain.

"Are you going to answer?!" Seeing Ben just standing there, the one eyed man started growling.

['Dragon Fear' has been unleashed!]

Immediately, many fell to their knees after feeling fear deep within their hearts. It was a fear of death!

Akin to seeing the grim reaper's face up close.

Ben was thankful he positioned himself to the opposite direction of the tram. Away from Julie.

But she wouldn't be able to stay hidden for long.

The moment Kane lost interest in talking to him, he was sure this Chuuni would turn around to see her.

That's why… he had to resist this 'Dragon Fear'!

But how?!

The intimidation skill he used wasn't normal. That much could be figured out just from the name.

Unlike the earthly skills that still followed the laws of reason possessed by those here, Kane was using a heavenly ability that broke common sense soundly. On top of that, the wielder was insane…!

Why did he have to write this Chuuni seriously!?

It might have been better if Kane was only pretending to be in anguish over his right arm and left eye, but Ben HAD TO made it all real… He just couldn't help making everything complicated…!

'I have to do something!' His mind worked up a tornado trying to think of a way to keep this going.

However, he couldn't move his mouth at all.

The threat of death was so strong that he paled and wanted to run away. His primal instincts active.

Particularly, the fight-or-flight response…

The threat of death made him wonder why he should get involved. What point was there to fight?

He should now his head and blend into the background to be safe. That was the best choice.

So long as he stayed in Kane's clique, things would slowly turn for the better as more time had passed.

'Wait… Then what would have been the point of killing so many?' Suddenly, guilt started to set in.

He knew that many planes had fell from the sky and didn't make it even after they were revived.

The initial mystical earthquake had broke life support systems that some needed to survive.

'Protect her and rise high! If not, it would be to die here!!!' Was the last fearful thought he had, before-

*Ping!*

A message window popped up.

[You have successfully used 'BEAST MODE' to create a powerful resolve to protect someone.]

[You have resisted 'Dragon Fear'.]

"Oh?" Sidmund was surprised the coward from earlier would step up. Even if he would die.

A small seed of respect was planted in his heart.

Unlike before, Ben's face didn't change to show any animalistic hysteria… or the things he felt.

'Poker Face' and 'Liar Liar' were in effect.

He lifted his head and hid the cunning smile in his eyes. The Delusionist wasn't about to be left out:

"Yes, I DO know where Sidmund Tailor is!"
