Chapter 13:

Choice Pt1

Fallen Omnipotent Writer Perspective

Now was definitely the moment of truth!

Either he dies here, or he makes a name for himself so he doesn't feel guilty about killing so many.

What would've been the point? Why exchange so many live for this chance just to stay ordinary?

Thus, the first thing he needed to do was to stop thinking of himself as someone not worth attention.

Charisma didn't belong to those who'd stutter from a weak mindset, nor those who couldn't wing it.

Even if that courage was a lie, he needed it now.

Thus… was his Job as a 'Grand Delusionist'!

Unknowing of the countless blue screens, Kane Wong was shocked to see Ben got himself up.

He became interested in this 'strange person'.

"So you know where Sidmund Tailor is?" His foot stepped towards the man, but didn't turn off Dragon Fear. The damn Chuuni wanted to see how long this foreign face could last under his might.

"I do." Ben didn't disappoint the psycho.

He touched the 'Imaginary Attribute' section of his own Status Window and threw it towards Kane.

Only in the Chuuni's eyes, was written the words:

[Imaginary Attribute: Sidmund Tailor]

"The name is right there."

"…" He was silent only momentarily, then continued:

"Do you know who this person is?" His eyes had changed for a moment, and his left eye glowed.

Ben knew exactly what Kane was doing.

He was using his 'Divine Eye of Truth' to see through any deceptions that might in his words.

If he hid anything or told a half-lie, then not even his 'Liar Liar' or 'Poker Face' would keep it hidden.

All lies were laid bare under Kane's eye…

Ben knew he had to quickly choose between a limited amount of choices about how he'd respond.

If he was too late, then things could get dicey.

His options were only:

1. "He's the protagonist of my Webnovel." (Truth)

This option was the worst out of anything he could say. Even if Kane believed him, there was a high chance he'd be killed on the spot for having made both their backstories tragic. It was death by truth.

2. "I don't know anything." (Lie)

He had no Myth Grade skills. He'd be found out immediately and undoubtedly tortured to death.

3. "It's my Imaginary Attribute." (Half Truth)

Although technically not a lie, Kane would see through his trickery and become suspicious of him.

This would eventually lead to death…

4. "He was a protagonist in my novel." (Half Lie)

This one was the best option because there was nothing for him to hide. However, it had its risks.

If this psycho before him decided to continue to ask about the 'novel', he'd be screwed either way.

Time to think had about his options had ran out.

Ben threw caution into the wind and spoke based off instinct. He burnt brain juices to say this:

"I know about him… as much as I do about you." It wasn't a lie, but it could easily be misunderstood.

"That so…?" And Kane took that bait!

He grasped his chin and came to the conclusion that Ben meant he knew nothing of this 'Sidmund'.

Before the one-eyed Chuuni controlled the pace, it was time for the Delusionist to keep things flowing:

"I'm not sure what happened in your cart, but the people of our tram have decided on a democracy."

"…What?" Kane's eyes narrowed… before looking at the people around him. He seemed a bit surprised.

"We've decided on a voting structure where three people's votes can make a decision. Would you-"

"No." He didn't even let the Delusionist finish.

"Well… You must look down on us because you're powerful, but we're also trying our best here."

"Do you think I care?"

These words from the psycho made a good chunk of the people there lose their initial hopes for him.

Kane wasn't leadership material.

Ben believed that he'd be able to persuade the Chuuni to help them. He just needed some time.

However, he failed to consider everything around him before trying to step up onto the stage.

There was someone who'd waited for this.

"Excuse me. Can I have your attention?" It was at that point someone else had took this opportunity.

The Delusionist found his eyes dilating in shock.

'Damn you!' His Poker Face skill crumbled when Augustus quickly threw Julie to the forefront.

A scene from his novel happened immediately:

{After having regressed for the first time with all his abilities intact, Kane searched for his nemesis.}

{He ended up finding his life partner instead.}

The words he'd written came to mind. All though he couldn't remember the specifics, the main point was that there was supposed to be a very toxic scene straight after. One that he couldn't stop.

"Bai Lingyun?" He asked towards the girl who had slight Chinese heritage. His eyes were glued.

'This damn Chuuni bastard!' Ben's possessiveness kicked in when he saw Kane step towards her.

"Umm…" Even with her 'Peerless Mentality', Julie felt horrified when she felt this man was a danger.

The secretary knew there was no way to run away…

"…My name is Julie Siren." She replied.

"She's one of the three 'presidents' who has taken charge of these people." Augustus had chimed in.

His words were deliberate…

Unlike what Ben was expecting, Kane stopped when he heard that she had an authority position.

His opinion of her changed, and so did the plot.

However, that didn't mean he'd walk away.

"President?" He scoffed, then pointed towards the sky in a grand pose: "THAT society has crumbled."

Then dropped his arm to point at Julie:

"Which is why only the strong should be shepherds of the sheeple. Come; become my beloved bride."

His words and actions was way too focused on the Perfect Secretary, but they knew what he meant.

After seeing how he slaughtered his way through the countless horrifying insects, they knew one thing: So long as they grabbed onto this opportunity, they'd all be safe from getting eaten.

"C-can we join your group?" One of the passengers in the cart asked, which was followed by others.

However, Kane ignored all of their pitiful looks.

The only thing in his eyes was her beautiful face.

"I…" Even with her mentality, the girl couldn't reply.

"Do it. That way, you'll be the queen of a new world." The serial killer bastard egged her on.

He was waiting to become a king's advisor.

Julie measured the pros and cons of accepting the Chuuni as her husband, as one thing was sure.

Her 'Social Adept' skill sensed his malevolence.

The skill could tell that even if she refused, Kane would probably kidnap her and force her on a bed.

It wasn't hard to see the obsessive lust in his eyes.

"You can't!" Not wanting to be forgotten, Ben interrupted his moment and spoke intensely.

"Why not?!" The psychotic Chuuni roared while glaring at Ben with the intention to kill someone.

It was Julie who came up with an answer:

"Because… He and I are… We are…" She purposely didn't finish her sentence, just in case the flame user in front of her had 'Lie Detection'. Her intent was to say that the two of them were allies.

That they put importance into each other.

But not the romantic kind.

Even without the knowledge of the Webnovel, she was precise in her judgement of his character.

Kane instantly paled after jumping to conclusions.

His heart seemed to break…

"Darling, my love… Don't be fooled by him. He IS and will become a womaniser in the future.

But me? I would value you above anyone else in the world. Please don't be fooled!" The moment he rudely reached out and grabbed her hands, she slapped them away. She didn't like his attitude.

Wasn't this the first time they met?

The way he jumped to marriage freaked her out.

And that wasn't the only thing…

His perverse gaze was already undressing her!

"Hey, are you the type to go after another man's woman? Even if we're not friends, you should keep your morals." Others would know this, but Ben tailored these words to hit the Chuuni's weakness.

He made sure to say this while Kane's eyes were focused on her. That way, he'd truly fall for them.

The psychotic Chuuni's face changed some shades before calming down. Able to calm himself.

The influence of his left eye and right arm were suppressed for the sake of the woman he loved.

Reluctantly, he let go of Julie's hands…
