Sicken Scar Part I

The first thing i noticed about him, it was his scar, in a great crescent from his temple to his chin.
Among all the people around me, only he caught my attention. I was
standing still but in the next moment, he vanished without any trace.
When did this happened? Let's come back to the present where it all start.

After the team "Saber of dawn" was formed, we got first request directly from the Guild Master.

Normally, it's our choose to choose quest but this one, it was directly hand to us. So, we can't say no.

"Stop! Kathy! Let go of me"
Kathy was dragging me, trying to chase out of the guild.
"I maybe like a pervert ...but I'm not into little girl-"
"Shut up and come with us!"
That's the problem.
Then suddenly someone grab my collar and throw me across all the tables, chair and people ending outside the guild.
Before I stand up on my feet, the door close by itself.
It's like a scene from someone horror scene where we enter a haunted house and the door close by itself.
Kathy standing next to me, giving me a pat. Cheering me up.
I banged loudly on the door and floor, flailing about as if no one was inside the guild.
"Let me in...." Sob*

I was sleeping in one of the guild room, which was meant for sick person or a guest, on a very nice sunny day.
When Kathy suddenly rushed in, dressed in her adventure outfit, she wears a frilled skirt with a small trim running around right above the end. She also wears thigh high socks. And a cute tiny black jacket which makes her sliver hair stand out.
And declared that we, including me were going on a quest.
Now I'm chased out and didn't even have time to change my clothes.
Though I can change my clothes anytime.
Ex-equip.
Black jeans, white shirt , a simple plain dress.
By the way, who was the person who threw me out?
I realised I didn't have to ask myself cause I already knew the answer.
I endured the haresh treatment and walked unsteadily on the streets along with Kathy by my side.
Then,
"Stop looking so gloomy"
I heard a familiar voice.
I gazed at her.
She was someone who i known each other since we were kids, and one of the strongest Maleficer in the guild.
"Huh? It's my usual face. Got a problem?"
"Sigh* That's why you aren't popular with girls"
She was openly picking a fight with me. But the way what she said about being unpopular was false.
........ Yeah it's false.
Ah, never mind.
There when they were discussing about the quest, Drac came right on time.
I find a opening, a chance to flee before they noticed me.
I prepared myself to dash towards the opposite direction, without looking back.
Suddenly, in that instant, I felt a heavy-
I couldn't utter a sound. Wait! I wasn't dead yet.
My eyes were shutting by itself and I saw a silhouette of a person, big and tall.
Wait- i know this guy.
Mas-Master Boras?..... I knew it. Curse you......
My consciousness was fading.
"Hey! What happened?"
"Serve him right."
"Thank you sir" said by Cyclops.
It's annoying.....

When I woke up, the first thing i felt was my eyes being dazzled.
Light filled my vision, and i narrowed my eyes in discomfort.
Once my eyes adjusted to the brightness, i found myself moving itself. No, it was like i was on a moving thing.
A girl with crimson hair leading the way, beside her a young boy and next to me a cute girl giving me a stiff smile.
"%-*#XXX------?*XXX"
The cute girl said something.
What is she saying?
Maybe I was feeling fuzzy, couldn't hear clearly and didn't understand it.
I tried to sit up and ask them.
My body could not move
I felt sensation in my fingers and wrist but I couldn't move my upper body.
What's happening?!
Sudden, i felt stop moving.
That crimson girl came towards me, and remove something from my chest.
At last, i was able to move freely.
Ho! It's was a tailsman to make my body unable to move.
Now that makes scene.
"We are here. Let's go"
That was the first word that came from her mouth.

Renvos town
It's a town with a lot of hills and slopes. Where I'm standing you can see the entire town from here.
"It's too beautiful!" Kathy exclaimed.
"I once came here when I was kid.
Man, it really changed."
Yeah it really changes.
Lisa looked at me for a second and turn away quickly.
When we enter the town, the houses we saw are made from the usual earth and stone commenly used in this country, but there are a few wooden structures mixed within.
There are very few stalls near the entrance. There's a lively atmosphere.
Nope, ever since we came here we barely seen some people.
And that some people were glaring at us like crazy.
I saw a signboard saying-----

"Ahem! Drac, come here."
"What?"
"Read this and tell me what's saying."
"Why don't you just read it by yourself."
"Just read it already."
"Fine..... It's says To be careful what lays ahead."
"Hmm...If we look at this town condition, it could be related what this signboard says."
"No, i was joking it says 50 % discount"
I smacked at his head.
He then grab his head, and start rubbing where i hit him.
"Hey Cyclops, when are we going to meet with the person who we get the request."
After hearing my question, Lisa glazed at me.
This is the third time, she looked at me like that.
Then she returned to being---
I looked around for a second.
I just noticed ever since we came here. I haven't hear a annoying voice.
"Ahhhh guys..... Where is Kathy?"
Unfortunately, she was lost.
We looked at each other with a shocked and nervous expression on our face.
Then we dispatched immediately without saying any word, looking for her.
Where did that girl go?! Damn it!
Why didn't I noticed it first? I guess it was---
No time for excuse.
"Good grief. I thought I could finish this quest quick and return home as soon as possible."
I slapped myself in the face.
"Focus on what's before my eyes sight now."
I had to find her quickly before it's too late .
Ever since we came here I feel a something unusual about this town.
Lisa also sensed it too. I'm sure.

In the meantime, Kathy was gathering information on her own.
Maybe she didn't not like replying on them.
A week ago, people started to disappear one by one specially at night.
Some believed something unhumanoid attacked, people in the town were randomly disappeared.
That was the information gathered.

Kathy looks at the board. There is a list of missing people and on the other side poster of the missing people with message from their family members.
The numbers of missing people were overwhelming to her tiny eyes.
Then out of nowhere, a man around 30 whose body was frail and pale.
Kathy noticed him, and make some distance between them. Then he walk closer to her, with his body that could collapsed any minute.
Then like a madman, a sliver beast charging came to the scene.
And that sliver beast was
"Kathy, you okay?"
"Um" she happily nodded.
I saw that man, and pity his condition without being hostile toward him.
"Who are you?"
The man reply in a soft voice which match his body.
"Wa-water.."
"Huh? Can you say it more clearly and louder?"
Kathy hid behind me, who was full of nervous guard and silently observed him.
So what will happen next?
