Chapter 2:

A whole new world and a girl?

The hero's rise? : Reborn as a Demon, I'll show you what a true Demon Lord is.

As i entered the door i found.

A voice speaking on a very old manner greeted me with a curious question.

"are you the cause of the commotions from earlier?" she asked me.

"eh—?" i said dumbfounded.

"hey Demon, i'm asking if you if the cause of commotion earlier was you?"

She asked once more.

"Demon? —oh me."

I snapped back to my senses.

I forgot I'm a demon now.

"commotion you say?"

"that's right, out of sudden. I felt a really big life force out of nowhere and the monsters here disappeared one by one. I presume it was you right?"

She must mean the monsters i absorbed, i guess she's right about it.

"that's right, it was i who caused it"

I answered her question with a really straight face.

Suddenly the eyes of the girl which looked like of a dead fish's lit up.

"i see it was you. So? Who are you and what are you doing here?"

The feeling in her voice has a little bit of enthusiasm now. Although i can't say that i got killed and was reborn here so.... I'll act it out i guess.

"well to be honest, i don't actually remember. Why am i here or who i am"

Seemingly confused, she asked another question.

"i see, not even your name?"

She believed that easily? Damn.

"well i know my name atleast."

I stood firmly and introduced myself.

"My name is Arizhiel, Arizhiel Rhein"

"Rhein? I've never heard of a demon with that family name. It could be new."

Well it's not really my last name so, it's my second name.

"how about you?"

I tried asking a question as well.

"oh how rude of me"

The girl halfway sealed on the wall smiled with confidence.

"My name is Lunacia Vi Ariasvielle! I am the one who's known as the Vampire Queen for hundreds of years!"

She introduced herself enthusiastically.

The queen of vampires?! I thought they perished 480 years ago—?

Also why such an existence as her would be in this place?

As i was deep in my thoughts, she interrupted as she spoke.

"confused? Why such an existence like mine is imprisoned here? Well that's a long story."

The vibe around her suddenly switched from enthusiastic to a feeling of melancholy.

I couldn't stand it so i started talking and asking some stuffs.

"hey so, i can see that you're imprisoned here but for what reason? And for how long already?"

Aria switched her attention to me as she answered the question.

"hmm that's a good question.

Why i'm here is because i was charged by the 7 Demon lords for something i didn't do. That was 480 years ago if i remember it correctly"

As she looked down, the tone of her voice changed as well with the feeling of sadness and regret.

"remembering those days, i couldn't do a thing but question what I've done and why me until i just accepted it."

Well wait, that kinda matches up with what happened to me recently. I see.

Also 7 demon lords? I've never heard of such a thing.

I do know that there's a Demon Lord but 7 of them?

"i tried breaking free a lot of times but it was completely futile.

They completely sealed my connection to Magic and prevents me from using any skill, i gave up.

It's also been a while the last time i saw someone like this, i can't ask for more."

"i see, that must've been really rough"

For someone like her being falsely imprisoned and spending hundreds of years hear completely alone.

I don't know how i'll be able to bear that loneliness.

So i decided.

"so hey, how about i visit you here everyday?"

A question that caught her attention quickly.

"are you serious? Like everyday?"

I saw her eyes light up which made me feel happy about it.

"yeah, although i need to figure out how to get out of this dungeon first."

"that all you need? Then i can teach you about it"

She explained the whole structure of the dungeon and about how i should keep away from the dragon's lair, which i revealed i just fought and defeated moments ago.

"you defeated it? You must be pretty strong then"

We continued our conversation for a while talking about stuffs until it ended.

"so everyday right? That's a promise?"

She asked me and i smiled at her.

"it's a promise, I'm a man of my words"

"don't take your words back okay? Well see you until then"

"yeah, see you"

I left the place and followed the directions to the exit from the info she gave me about the whole place and finally found a giant gate.

"so this must be it?"

Although i can't let my guard down.

I used [Shadow Sneak] instead of opening the door and im finally outside.

What i saw was a new world.

No humans but instead a society of demons.

So I'm in the demon continent after all, the largest continent at the east.

I walked away from the supposedly dungeon's entrance however it wasn't there.

Knowing the possibility, i tried using [spatial detection] which is a skill derived from [limited spatial manipulation] and detected the dungeon below.

"so it's hidden this way i see, there's also a sound nullification barrier inside"

I now walked away from it to start exploring the new city and find a place to stay at but.

Everyone here seems to be staring at me, what's wrong with them?

did they found out that I'm a former human?

Well.... That's bad

Then a person approached me and told me

"Mind turning off your aura? You're not looking for a fight right?"

A guy dressed up like a noble warned me about my overflowing aura.

Aura?

I changed my perspective to inspect myself and i was oozing pure dense magical energy.

Which then i tried supressing as much as i can.

"alright that's good now"

Says the guy who approached me.

"you're a really strong demon, what's your name? What family are you from? What university do you go to?"

I answered those questions the same way i did to Aria back then, i don't remember thing and stuffs.

"i see, anyways i am Arezxhia Ruvhisvia, but just call me Arez. And you?"

The guy named Arez raised his hand halfway trying to shake hands.

"i'm Arizhiel, Arizhiel Rhein."

I responded to his hands and performed a handshake.

"Arizhiel, I've never heard of that before.

Anyway what are you doing out here letting your aura off?"

I explained about how i'm trying to look for a place to stay in and probably a work to attend.

"a place to stay at? Rest assured.

I know the place for you."

Arez showed me around the town and took me to a place to stay at.

"take this as well"

He gave me a small pack of currency im unfamiliar with.

Although i tried refusing, he insisted it as a thanks for being an accompany.

"And if you don't mind, why not join our university?'

University?

" A demon as strong as you will be a top tier student within few weeks I'm sure "

I wasn't sure how should i respond so i told him that I'll think about i, then we said our goodbyes and parted ways.

I entered the place and paid for what apparently is a monthly rent.

I checked my room and it looks pretty nice.

There's a bed and a window beside it.

As well a desk to write things at.

I checked the drawer out of curiosity and found few papers but only one caught my attention.

"Demonica Magia University?"

I picked up what it seemed to be a paper to apply for a University.

So this must be the University he spoke of.

I'm not that efficient at using my magic yet so i thought it'd be nice to try it.

I filled the paper up and the an unknown bird flew right on my window to pick it up.

I guess i don't need to submit it my own.

Knowing that, i thought it should be finally the time to take a rest.

Im completely tired today so.

I jumped on the bed.

It's been a while the last time i felt the bed.

But it's a bad manners to sleep straight so i took a bath first to then dried myself.

Finally the time to sleep.

As i was deep asleep.

I dreamt of something.

I could barely see a thing however i could hear a voice.

"please live happily for my sake"

I couldn't recognize who was it but all i know that her presence was someone familiar.

Then everything shifted to that moment of death i had. Everything in chaos echoing in my head.

Reminding me of the hatred i felt.

And i woke up.

"it's morning already?"

Someone knocked at the door.

Apparently it was a maid working on the place asking what type of breakfast i want to order.

I replied "An egg and rice would be nice"

The maid bowed and left as she got my order.

It only took a short period of time before she came back with it.

I took the whole thing and finally time to dig in.

A proper food after a week Finally.

And yep, i didn't forget about the promise i made with Aria yesterday so right after i finished the food.

The maid took it and i got ready to go out.

I locked my door and brought money with me.

As i walked around outside, i stopped by a shop that sells clothes and bought some then tried it out.

As i brought the clothes of my pick in the changing room.

There was a large mirror and i saw my reflection.

"I see, my looks have changed as well"

Back when i was a human.

I used to have a really dark hair and dark blue eyes.

Now it's the complete opposite.

My hair now is completely silver white and my eyes has turned to golden yellow.

And, my horns are there. Though i hid it again.

Well, it's not bad I'd say.

The clothes i brought with me fit perfectly and bought it.

A long black pants, a white shirt and a long sleeved black robe with a few accessories.

I calmly walked towards the spot of entrance waiting for the right chance to enter.

I counted 1..2 and 3 then I'm back in the dungeon.

I quickly headed towards the room where Aria is.

As i opened the door. There i saw her looking really happy about it, her eyes are sparkling like a diamond.

"you really came back?"

I walked infront of her.

"of course, i'm a man of my words"

There i sat and chatted with her throughout the day.

"oh right, i brought something"

I pulled out a box of cake.

"what is that?"

She asked.

"wait for it" i answered.

I took the contents out and used the utensils with it and tried feeding it to her.

"open your mouth"

"i don't really get it but..."

Aria slowly opened her mouth as i fed her the piece of cake.

Slowly chewing savoring the taste of it.

"what is this food? I've never had this before!"

She looked really joyful with that new flavor.

"it's called cake, it's like a soft bread with sweet cream and stuffs."

She doesn't know about it, it originated from 200 years ago after all.

"give me more"

I kept of feeding her until she ate all of it.

"that was really good, it's been a while the last time i had any food."

That phrase caught my interest.

"yeah, how can you survive without food anyways?"

She put a smug in her face as she answered my question.

"You fool, i am the Vampire Queen.

I am completely immortal.

Unlike Demons, for a vampire.

Consuming food the same way they do replenish our magic instead."

"oh i see" i responded.

Speaking about magic, i tried bringing up about how i applied for a magic school.

"a magic school you say? How much do you know about magic?"

About that question...

"to be frank, i only know a few about the basic elements"

I focused on my swordsmanship and controlling Holy Magic after all which i lost unfortunately, Demons are completely incompatible with Holy related stuffs.

The basic elements which are [Fire] [Wind] [Water] [Earth] [Lightning] considered as the most common elements to be found while these aren't the only elements.

There are some like [Light] and [Dark] and the off elements magic that doesn't rely on any base elements for example. [Lesser Healing] the lowest type of recovery magic that doesn't base on any concepts of elements.

Instead they are derived from different concepts which is life.

The concept of [Life] which then extends to [Recovery] and then manipulated by using magical power to alter that Law making any life force heal.

Although it can't be called law or conceptual manipulation as it just produced something through that concept and never manipulated the law of recovery itself.

"i see, well how about i teach you magic then? I may not look it but I'm an expert mage, think of it as a thanks for your visit here everyday as well"

That'd really help a lot, no reason to refuse.

"Well then i look forward it. Oh and it's almost night time.

I should get going"

I waved my hand, i want to spend more time with her but i have some stuffs to do.

"alright then, tomorrow again!

Don't forget about it"

I walked away reaching for the entrance.

"don't worry, i won't"

I waved again and closed the door then got out of the dungeon.

I went back to the place i'm staying at immediately and saw a paper on the desk where the bird took my form from.

"i see, this must be the response then"

I read the paper.
