Chapter 33:

Old Friends (3/3)

The Zypher: The Four Season

"But who I saw was someone I never met before." Kam shook his head and told Erika that she did know him, "well not his full name... The person you saw was Cal..." Erika was shocked in realising this, "wait Cal's last name is Memre? I thought it was Jarkye?" Kam shook his head, "well that's why we call him Cal the Nincompoop or in the words from Planet Lenin, Sweus, but I'm coming off-topic, Cal has also had a connection to the lost child but he doesn't know what he is." Erika felt like she misheard Kam when he said, "what he is." Kam handed her a watch, "this watch will help you look for Macro's body." Erika didn't understand why she needed to find Macro's body, "don't you mean Macro himself?" Kam shook his head, "Macro died 17 years ago but his soul was linked with Cal and almost everything was destroyed, except for Macro's body, Azzam made sure that his body was safe and secured... But Macro's body isn't the only hidden thing, there is also a former Arkomanan soldier who retired one year before the invasion who went to the same planet as Macro's body was left." Erika knew to who he was referring, "Azriel? He's still alive? I thought the Purgists would have reached him."

"I don't know if they did or didn't but what I do know is that he is a part of this as well and the chances of finding the Lost Child have decreased the longer he is inactive... So I suggest that you find them but to find them you have to find shards of the Myst (A series of puzzles that when pieces are found for a specific planet, transports those who found its pieces to the galaxy of Unknown in which the most mysterious and unsolvable planets lie.)"

"How do I find the shards." Kam shrugged his shoulders, "the myst are unknown species and leave very little clues... anyway... since you are here, I thought I would teach you something awesome." Erika appreciated his offer but declined, "ah come on Erika!! Please?! I promise you won't have to do much! You have to punch a rock! That's all! Please?!" Erika didn't want to do it but Kam wouldn't stop begging her until she gave in and agreed to do it, "YAY!! Get some rest tomorrow because we have a busy day!" Erika didn't know what she got herself into but now that she agreed, she had no choice. Kam's guards escorted them to their rooms for today, as they all slept, Erika couldn't think about what Kam had in store for her. Morning came by and Erika realised that her bed was in the middle of nowhere, only a set of rocks were stacked, "hey Erika!! .... thought you wouldn't wake up so I thought I'd bring you here and teach you the incredible thing." Erika felt annoyed that Kam did this but she did it anyway to get Kam off her back.

"Okay first, look at that little rock... it's small and easy to push right? Well, I want to see if you can punch and break it!" Erika found this pointless and waste but she did it anyway, with her experience as a fighter her punch was strong, and she destroyed the rock without second thoughts. "Nice! Now I want to see if you want to punch this rock." Kam pointed to a smaller and already broken rock. "It already broke to give you a head start." Erika didn't need a head start, she punched the rock but it didn't break.

"OW!! OW!! OW!! WHAT IS THAT?!!" Kam himself didn't know what it was but what he did know was that no one has broken it, Erika was amazed by how someone was even able to break parts of it but not all of it, "my grandfather told me that only a person with fear can truly break it." Erika didn't know what it meant for her so she continuously punched the rock, it had become night and she was already exhausted and her fists were bruised, "Erika why don't you give up? By looking at it, you have not made any progress." She refused and carried on punching it again until her fists started to hurt, Kam watched as she felt pain and strangely enough, this was the first time since ever she felt this sign of pain.

Kam could see in her eyes that she was tearing up, so he left her to give her some space, Erika looked at her fists then at the necklace that was given to her... it was given to her by her former lover, Kylal Mejau, she started to remember days of the Order, how happy she was and how she was spending time with her loved ones, "why?" Erika said with tears and one of her voices cracking, she looked at the rock and started to remember the day of the invasion. She thought that day was an unfair event, she loved those children and the people she cared for, she then realised something, she stood up and clenched her already broken fists and punched the rock again and this time... It finally broke.
