The Snake in the Grass (2/3)

Cal went to bed hoping to avoid Phen before she goes into Mr Detective on him, Cal went to bed and in doing so made him struggle to clear his mind, he began to hear some kind of song that was different to any song that he had ever heard, it sounded aggressive and it felt like it had meaning to Cal as if he was somewhat connected to what this song was saying.

Cal woke up to find himself in a limbo-like state, he was encountered by a darkening presence, "CAL MAXZAZUNE!!!" Cal turned around to face to fave a deadly presence called the ECHO, "I finally vet to meet the man of mystery, the man of curiosity, I bow in intrigued by your presence, after all, you are the last of your kind." Cal was shaken by what he just said and asked ECHO about what he know, "what I know is the Shadow Brotherhood have been wiped clean by your order and I as well two others remain but still with power... I offer you this power in hope that you share my interest in power."

Cal didn't care about power but what he did care about was what the ECHO knew, "even after everything you have been through, you choose to understand what happened that night, well the answer is in your mentor. He has both truths and lies in what you seek but be warned, what you wish to know will change what you see in the world and your meaning in life." Cal wakes up to find the girl watching him sleeping, he could see in her eyes that she hasn't forgotten about what happened or what Cal did for her, she was quite curious about who he was and how he ended up to where he is now.

Cal didn't tell her too much, simply the important parts of his life, Cal got up to see that Phen and Ku were still sleeping, "shouldn't you sleep as well?" The girl shook her head no, "since I'm an Arcanmar, I only require two hours of sleep for me to have full strength." Cal found that fascinating but then stopped in his tracks to realise that she was an Arcanmar (Royalty who are from the galaxy of Messiah 82, on the planet of Geremia) and the worst part for Cal was she was the princess of the Geremia, "why are you here? I mean your home planet has to be far from here right?" She explained that she was always interested in exploring the galaxy but unfortunately found her and her "former crew" in the Andromeda planet, "don't get me wrong the galaxy looks beautiful but it is the planets that I despise."

"I can't blame you, you are lucky that you're not in Beydia, that planet was crooked, to begin with, back then it was peaceful and many of the creatures loved being there but then came to a dastardly prince who had them all killed, after that it became like a market." The princess asked Cal about the life he lived in Beydia, "I was a blacksmith working alongside this traitorous jerk, I was considered the best and even had my own home while the others had to share homes, I guess I was happy there because I was doing something that I liked and there were people that I can have a good laugh with, then the planet was destroyed along with my childhood memories." Cal stood up to check what planet they were arriving in. "Only 30 minutes to get there? Wouldnt be a problem in my opinion."
