Chapter 10:

My Patralier

Ane And His Seames

Ane and Lana stood across Finn who's back spread out two giant hands of flames both holding fireballs which it then pelted at Ane who dove into the air. The fireballs then approached Ene and Eina and Eina jumped to Ene; tanking the attack. The girl then fell forward; her back steaming and Ene stared in shock. "You idiot!" he yelled. Eina smiled as her face lowered into the floor.

"Tsk." Ane said while eying the two before landing with Lana in hand. Ane's aura burst from him; sending a gust of wind across the bridge he stood on and Lana pouted before shoving his hand and frowning at the boy.

"What's wrong?" Ane asked gruffly. Lana slammed her head into Ane's.

"Stop pretending to be so uptight!" she scolded as Ane stumbled back.

"What do you mean!?" Ane answered irritantly.

"You look so angry right now." Lana stated

"Well obviously I am. I did see a certain someone who betrayed my trust." Ane remarked with a frown. Lana's eyes were shielded as silence filled the area before she stepped closer to Ane to then kiss him. Ane's eyes returned to normal as his expression eased to then switch to surprise. Lana backed away from him; they both blushing.

"Th-this is a battle. We can't be making out!" Ane scolded. Lana poked her fingers together nervously.

"I had no other choice. You wouldn't have calmed down if I didn't." she said. Ane's eyes were shielded.

"How can you so easily forgive her after she endangered your life so bad?" Ane asked. Finn sat down and closed his eyes.

"Because she genuinely wants and deserves forgiveness. She was so sad and she fought alongside me so I can get out." Lana said smiling. Ane clenched his teeth. "WAIT, where's Levy!?" Lana asked while eying Eina who still lay on the ground.

"Do you mean the girl with the levitation powers?" Finn asked. Lana nodded and Finn sighed.  "If she was with you then she more than likely fell to her death into the lava pit below." he stated calmly. Lana's cheerful face distorted completely to one of terror.

"Levy...burnt alive?" she asked softly. Finn stood up and laughed crazily.

"Why not ask Ane how she casually fell. He and I both should have sensed her after all!" he remarked smirking. Lana eyed Ane whose eyes were shielded.

"His mind was so consumed with rage at EINA; he couldn't even see past it and save the poor girl." Finn remarked; laughing as a black mark spread across his face along with an insane expression of glee. The markings then vanished and he held his face. "I won't be able to resist using my power against Ane for much longer." he thought exhaling.

"Yo, punk." Ane called. Finn watched Ane with a deadly look. "It's about time I defeat you!" Ane yelled; pointing at the man.

"Don't get so cocky." Finn remarked as flames shot from his hand at at Ane but Lana spat water from her hand and the two constant flows of elements collided causing smoke to fill the area.

"I can't defeat him with the amount of elemental energy I have left." Lana thought frowning. "Ane." she said while eying the boy.

"Yes?" Ane asked.

"You have to become my Patralier again." Lana replied; blushing. Ane's body beat and his eyes widened. The boy then held his head; screaming.

Ane stood in the moonlight staring at some trees. "Trees? The moon?" he asked himself quizzically. Wind blew across the area but it didn't seemed to affect even his clothes in the slightest.

"Ane; turn around." a younger voice of Lana's pled.

"She sounds younger." Ane thought; turning around with an eyebrow raised to see a young him facing away from a young Lana who sat on a bench in the park. "What is this?" older Ane asked out loud but the children didn't acknowledge him.

"Why?" Young Ane inquired.

"I want to ask you something. You don't have to be so jerky about it!" Lana scolded; pouting.

"So loud." young Ane complained as he turned to Lana who smiled cutely at him making him blush. The present Ane smiled.

"This is embarrassing." he thought as his cheeks flushed up.

"What do you want?" Young Ane asked.

"You have to become my Patralier, Ane." Lana replied blushing. Both Anes blinked blankly.

"Wait what?!" Young Ane shouted in disbelief. "Why me?" he asked; flustered. Lana played with her fingers nervously.

"I honestly don't want to become anyone's Seame but yours." she remarked. "Plus, I love you Ane." she continued smiling cutely. Both Anes went red.

"Ok what the hell's going on? I don't get why I'm blushing!" Present Ane yelled in frustration.

"I-If you insist." Young Ane stuttered.

"They really can't see or hear me." Present Ane thought as he waved his hand before his young self. "This is a memory." he concluded; holding his chin thoughtfully.

"So um Lana." Young Ane said; rubbing the back if his head as he and Lana stood up.

"Yes Ane?" Lana answered.

"How DO I become your Patralier?" Ane questioned. Lana sighed.

"I figured you wouldn't know." she said with a gentle smile. Ane laughed idiotically as he scratched his cheek. "Ok; first of all let out your elemental energy." Lana commanded as a blue aura surrounded her before Ane nodded before letting out a red aura around him. Lana grabbed Ane's hands; interlocking her fingers into his while blushing. "N-now say the following lines. I give this lifeform the privilege of being my Seame." Lana remarked. Ane did as he was told and a red semicircle appeared beneath him. "I give this lifeform the authority to command me as he pleases and become my Patralier." Lana said causing a half dark blue, half ice blue semi circle to appear beneath her and attached to Ane's semicircle. "Kiss me." Lana whispered with a smile; face red. Young Ane blushed before kissing Lana. Their auras intertwined to then fade and the two backed away.

"S-so what now?" Ane asked staring at Lana. Claps were heard and the two stared towards at the current Ane who turned as well but the memory began to lag. Ane squinted as he barely managed to see a blurred figure landing. Everywhere became static and Ane backed away.

"What in the hell?" he whispered.

"Lana; who'd thought you'd become the Seame of somebody so pathetic." a voice somewhat identical to Ane's but somehow totally different remarked before the memory completely shattered into void.

Ane screamed as he fell to his knees in the present and Lana held his shoulder soothingly. "Ane, you okay?" she called.

"Y-yeah." Ane responded; panting.

"I never knew such cheerful memories for me would bring you so much pain." Lana said sadly.

"It's not the memory..." Ane started as he sat up. "It's that guy..." he continued as he remembered his dream from the prologue and the memory. "I can't remember him for some reason and it drives me nuts." he concluded. Lana's eyes were shielded.

"That's not important right now." she stated and Ane nodded to then eye her.

"Let's do that contract again then." he remarked.

"You know I'm getting really bored right now." Finn said as he stared at them with his crazed look. Ane frowned.

"Don't worry Ane." Ene remarked as he stood up and cracked his neck.

"Dude, there's till darkness around you." Ane warned as he watched his best friend.

"It's okay." Ene said; eyes shielded to then appear in front of Finn and punch the man in the face. Finn went flying backwards. "As long as I can keep him busy for long enough!" Ene yelled as he spun into the air and fired a kick which Finn blocked. Ane exhaled and turned to Lana.

"Let's do this then." he said. Eina stared from the back silently and smiled sadly.
