Chapter 1:

I'm just a lucky boy

Luck can't grant you the perfect girlfriend, or maybe it can?

My name is Akihito Daiki. I'm seventeen years old, as a kid I'm a bit moody, but I'm trying to improve my life. As for school, I'm pretty good as I can say, there are times when I don't even study for a test and still write a good grade. I don't know if that's a gift, but it's definitely a great skill. My mother always says to me that I've some kind of ability in terms of my luck, and I always think that I'm special in this world and not abandoned by God like a large part of the population in Japan. I also have a little brother, his name is Yuno, we don't talk that much at home, he's at a whimsical age and I think he's in love with a girl, unlike me, I haven't found my soul mate yet. My grandmother always said "The right person comes at an unexpected moment". Let's see if she's right about that. This is more or less a part of my current life and I can't wait to acquire more tenor.

My alarm clock has been going off, always with that annoying "beep "beep" sound. As if I knew I should get up from my soft and warm bed.

I got up from my bed and made my way to the bathroom, where I almost slipped and nearly fell into the bathtub, but somehow I was held by the bar where we hang the towels. In all of this I hit my head on the opposite cabinet, which caused the cabinet to open and I found my lucky charm, as if I needed that, I already have my super extraordinary gift hehe.

After I was done, I went downstairs for breakfast. My mother had prepared a nutritious meal.

"You look like a nerd in that suit, actually you always look like a nerd," My brother yelled at me.

Well, the truth is that my school has the worst uniforms, so I agree with my brother and yes, I totally look like a nerd.

"Ok mom, it's time for me to go to school, I'll see you later. Bye!" I said and ran to school.

"Don't come back!" My brother shouted.

"You can't talk to your brother like that."

"Just the facts."

Overwhelmed, I managed to get to the school ceremony for the start of the new school year. Everyone was gathered in the courtyard talking to each other. I looked around to spot my friend, the only friend I'd made in all my years at school.

In fact, everyone was trying to take advantage of me because I was so lucky. That's why I don't like to refer to my luck when I'm with other people, and that's why I only have one friend. He's the only one who accepted me without trying to gain something for me.

"Eh, I think he's still asleep. I just hope he makes it in time!" I exclaimed.

Suddenly, I felt someone grab me by both shoulders.

"Who do you think is going to sleep on a day like this?"

I turned my head and saw Hikari smiling at me. His gray hair fluttered in the wind and his green eyes sparkled with energy.

"Oh, so you actually managed to wake up on time, huh? How come?"

"Didn't I already tell you that today is a special day?"

"Yeah, that's what I heard. But what exactly do you mean by that?"

"Oh, come on. It's the day we're going to change classrooms. Last year our class was the worst, the boys were so lame and the girls weren't pretty at all. But today, all that might change. Who knows, maybe we'll go to the same class as Hoshiko Itsuki."

Hoshiko Itsuki, huh? The goddess of school. Every boy here dreams of having a girl like her, and I'm no exception. She's everything I could want in a girl, she is cute, pretty, and smart. Almost the complete opposite of me. But I wouldn't go so far as to say that I'm not at least cute.

You see, from the moment I was born, I inherited my mother's traits and the truth is that I look a bit like a girl. Everyone around me thinks I'm a cute girl when they first see me. I guess the fact that I've somewhat long hair doesn't help with that, but what can I do? It's my mother's wish, I can't tell her no.

"So you only want to be in a class with pretty girls," I said, teasing him.

"It's not quite like that, but more or less you're right." Hikari avowed with a distorting face.

"I knew it."

As we talked, I sensed an astonishing presence approaching us.

I tilted my head and saw the school goddess, as Hikari had said.

"So this is Hoshiko Itsuki."

My whole face was dazzled by her beauty, I couldn't stop looking at her.

As she walked past me, her long dark pink hair with purple stripes fluttered in the wind, and as if all that wasn't enough, she gave the crowd a pretty smile. That really melted my heart.

"Ok, dude, this girl is just too cute, but look at her hair, there are stumps on it," Hikari exclaimed.

"Oh, how did that happen? This alters her appearance a little bit, but she still looks so beautiful."

Fortunately, someone gave her a handkerchief to clean her hair, she looked a little surprised at that.

It was time to approach the board with the list of classes.

I tried to get a good look, and finally I saw my class. At that moment, I realized that I'd be in the same class as Hoshiko Itsuki, because her name was in the same classification. I was so excited that I even wanted to scream, but I kept that energy for later.

After that, we made our way to the classrooms, and as soon as we entered, we sat down in our seats.

Unfortunately, Hoshiko didn't sit next to me, but Hikari sat right behind me.

I couldn't take my eyes off her, she was like a princess, all the boys in our class were staring at her.

It was time for her to introduce herself, she got up from her seat but unfortunately she slipped on the floor, I thought it was funny enough but I kept my laughs.

She was ready to speak but she sneezed and interrupted the flow of speech, she apologized and then continued.

"M-my name is Hoshiko Itsuki, I'm glad to be in this school and in this classroom and I can't wait to make friends with all of you. I'm open to friendships, so feel free to talk to me," She said, finishing her introduction.

Suddenly all the boys started applauding her, including me of course. I couldn't wait for the bell to ring for a break so I could talk to her.

"Hikari, the time has come, it's time to introduce ourselves to Hoshiko Itsuki," I said with a determined look.

"Are you sure about that? You look pretty scared."

I looked closely at Hikari and it was clear that he was the one who was scared. He began to sweat at the very thought of talking to a girl.

Even though he wanted to be around girls, he didn't have the determination to talk to one because he was extremely scared.

"Are you sure you want to do it? If you can't, I'll stay with you." I said with a smile, teasing him.

"Ha, who do you think you're talking to? I'm perfectly fine, you should worry about yourself."

It was still clear that he was extremely anxious as his whole body was shaking.

"Alright, have it your way." I said , walking towards Itsuki.

Even her perfume had a sweet scent. It really suited her.

After all these years, it was time for me to talk to her. There are no other girls like her, this is my only chance.

I wasn't afraid to talk to her at all because I believed in my luck. At least that's what I thought.
