How can someone be this bad at lying!!

Koi’s whole attention was focused on Airi, his concentration was on a level that he wouldn’t faze even if the world burn,

Seeing his burning focus, Airi smiled a bit as she repeated,

“The second option is…...!!”

“Is.?” Koi asked with curiosity evident in his voice and Airi picked her cup of coffee as she said,

“I want to finish my coffee before saying that,”

‘I guess this should work…’ Airi thought and spoke after taking a sip of coffee,

“Well, if someone wants to know anything sooner, they just need to be firmer in asking,”

‘Isn’t she…. She’ Koi thought,

“You are too mean!! Tell me already… what is the second option?” Koi complained, having an irritated expression on his face and Airi laughed a bit as she answered,

“Be our employee. You already have enough kindness to help a stranger, I guess your personality would be a good fit for our NGO, we’ll arrange for a place you can live in but it would be a shared space with one of our employees. We will pay for your college registration and fees in the name of employee welfare…. Of course, you’ll have to work buckets full. This is the second option. Both options are open choice is yours”

‘It is an obvious choice….’ Koi thought as he took a sip of his coffee.

“So, what will you choose? It is basically one or another because the third option is homeless…” Airi said and she wondered,

‘Should I put a bit a persuasion for the second option… he’ll have more benefits staying than going back…. Not like I want to stop him or anything, well either way on to the persuasion’ Airi looked towards Koi’s face and was about to speak but before she could. Koi spoke,

“Second option, I’ll choose second” Airi didn’t hear it clearly and spoke,

“I know it is a hard choice but, I assure you there are no demerits in the second option as you’ll have a part-time job and recommendation by that time….” then seeing Koi's confused eyes she tilted her head and shouted,

“You already chose second, right!?”

“I did” Koi nodded,

“Then why don’t you say it clearer!?” Airi complained,

“But you began explaining after I said it…” Koi said confused,

“That is because I already rehearse the persuasion in my head!!” Airi said loudly, her cheeks red with embarrassment at what she just said,

“My bad, I should’ve let you persuade me… sorry, ehe” Koi replied rubbing the back of his head,

“Don’t apologize about it” Airi shakes her hands,

After five minutes they finished their coffees and calmed down. The café’s cheerful atmosphere wasn’t reaching them due to awkwardness from before, and finally, Airi stood up,

“Let’s go now. First, we’ll head to the office, then I’ll take you to your new residence”

“Miss Ito, shouldn’t we pay the bill? I mean I’ll pay it” said Koi,

“There is no need, I am a regular here and they already should’ve cut it from my deposit,” Airi answered.

As they moved towards the cafe’s door, a maid cheerfully said,

“Thanks for the visit, masters” and Koi felt an arrow shoot through his chest different from the one Airi shot at the hospital as this was the first time, he was called a master, and seeing his blushing expression,

“After all pink ones are better than pissed once…” he said in a low voice, and Airi who just opened the door said,

“It is part of her job, don’t fall into the depth of imagination”

“I wasn’t falling into anything,” Koi replied sheepishly, and Airi shrugged as she said,

“Sure Sure, but do something about that blush on your face… unless you want to meet your co-workers blushing,”

“I am not blushing though….” Koi pouted,

After an hour, Airi and Koi were standing in front of a two-floored wooden house. It was looking quite awkward as it was placed in between two concrete buildings with no other wooden house on the whole highway,

“Yes, he is already here… no, he didn’t need persuasion,” Airi said to someone on call,

As he looked toward the traditional wooden house in the middle of the industrial area, Koi got chills as he thought,

‘I am not having a good feeling about it…’ the place had an out-of-place feeling, there was an orange tree in the front yard but it looked so out of place that it seemed like a different genres were mixing,

And suddenly, the entrance opened,

“Welcome to Shiawase NGO head office,” said a lady clad in a black kimono with a red hairpin. Her long black hair seemed to be in a bun. Koi wanted to shout,

‘Is this what we call… heavenly beauty!?’ the beauty of the lady was almost unnatural and her pale skin gave her a ghostly appearance.

“Answer her already, you are being rude,” said Airi, and Koi answered the lady in a mechanical tone,

“My name is Koi, thanks for welcoming me… I am 18 years old, and hope to build a good relationship with you”

“My my, aren’t you a cute one? Please follow me,” the lady said with a bright smile. Koi would’ve answered,

‘For the rest of my life!!’  but before he could, Airi moved near him and whispered,

“Don’t get your hopes up, she is married,” and Koi thought,

‘What does she even think about me!?’ as they entered the office, it wasn’t as traditional as it looked from the outside. There was a marbled floor and tiles on the walls,

“The other employees are on leave today, due to it being Sunday and the core members have their work,” saying this Kimono lady moved near Airi and said something in her ears and Airi shouted,

“What again!? This isn’t it 8 times in 7 days of a week… it is beyond possible at this point”

“I told him, but he said he felt like the intertwined fate was pulling him or something…” the lady answered with a scary smile,

And Koi wondered what they were talking about, and sensing his curiosity, the lady and Airi turned to Koi as they spoke,

“It is nothing, we were just talking about some NGO work,” Airi said, and Lady shouted

“Yes, we surely weren’t talking about a stupid and weird Romanticist employee” and Airi put her hands on her mouth, while Koi was in shock,

‘How can someone be this bad at lying!!’
