A chance?

After returning to the table and ordering the wings, Arthur, Peter and I talked about series and games; It is in these moments that I realize why we are friends. While other people in the bar talk about sports or their jobs, we get excited because in an anime song they dance. While Chris arrived we were talking about various meaningless topics. After about 40 minutes, Chris finally arrived.

"I made it guys." Chris said excitedly.

"It was time". Peter responded as annoyed as ever.

"How are you, my man? We haven't seen each other in a long time." Arthur said with a big smile.

Peter and Arthur rarely see Chris unlike me, I see him almost every day in college, but we hardly talk.

"you have no idea how difficult it was to come." Chris said, sighing.

"And now why was it so complicated for you?" I said laughing a bit.

"You know how Jane is, she got toxic again and didn't want me to come." Chris answered. By the way, Jane is Chris's girlfriend. They started dating almost 3 years ago.

"Why didn't he let you come?" Arthur asked, surprised.

"She was bothering me that this year we should be together more and that I should change a little bit of the time I spend with you guys to spend more time with her." Chris sounded sad and upset talking about it, maybe we should drop it. I prefer not to get into relationship problems.

"But that doesn't matter, what happened to Hannah? Marsh, are you still dating? Chris asked

Peter and Arthur turned to look at me quickly and I could see the look of discomfort on Arthur's face. After all, he was with me when Hannah told me she needed to get away for a while.

"We stopped talking 2 months ago." I said sadly.

"But if everything went well, why did you stop talking?" Chris knew just what to ask to make me sad.

"It doesn't matter. If you read the group you would have found out what happened”. Peter said wanting to avoid the subject of my love affairs.

"You guys say pure stupidity in the group, how do they want me to know when something important happens?" Said Chris

"Well, read it and that's it." Peter commented with a laugh.

“Shut up Peter. Well, Marsh, are you going to continue using Buzzle? Maybe the second is the good one. Chris sounded very confident with what he was saying and had a smile on his face as he said it and that's when the mood darkened and I heard that voice again.

The voice said, "Come on tell them you're not going to use a dating app because you'd rather waste all your money talking to a Vtuber."

"I told you to leave me alone" I said a bit sad and annoyed

“You said it and I left you alone for almost 1 hour, you're welcome” said the voice

"Leave me alone!". I screamed desperately again.

"Stop making bad decisions and I'll consider it." said the voice

"Marsh, is everything okay?" Chris asked

It was like waking up from a trance, I stopped listening to that voice and the light returned to the place

"Marsh?" asked Chris worried

“Um, no… I'm tired of looking for a partner. so I don't think I'll use more buzzle”; I told them.

“How are you tired? If you didn't do anything." Said Peter annoyed.

"Well, I met one person and that's already a lot for me." I answered a bit awkwardly.

"I don't think it's a good idea to leave it but you do you" Chris said.

Of course it's not a good idea for him to stop using it. When we both downloaded Buzzle he had 10 interested people a day, I was lucky that 1 of the 2 people who gave me a like answered me.

"Why don't we change the subject?" Arthur said with an awkward smile.

We actually changed the subject. After a few hours of drinking, eating and talking we said goodbye and everyone went home. While I was going back home I looked for Yasury but it had already finished so a little sad for not saying goodbye I continued on my way. 

Having arrived home, I changed and prepared to sleep. I checked my cell phone to play music and my alarm.

“This year I will not be alone”. I told myself impetuously.

"I'm not so sure about that". Said the voice

"I wasn't talking to you."

"Well, you were talking out loud so you could be talking to me."

"I made sure to create my resolution for this year."

“A meaningless resolution. This year is going to be like all the others. The only thing different is that you are going to throw more money in the trash for talking to that Vtuber»”

"I'm not throwing money away. I know I'm going to charm her."

“You should start a comedy routine. That was a really good joke."

“It was not a joke. I know I have a chance."

"In any case, what is your big idea, huh?"

"Well... I'm going to talk to her and make her fall in love with me."

“You can't even make a real person fall in love with you, and you think you can with a Vtuber? You really are pathetic."

“I can make a real person fall in love like with…”

“Like with Hanna? Surely she spoke to you by mistake, that's why she told you she wanted to get away from you, surely she already has a boyfriend.

"Things are not like that, she walked away because she needed time."

"Yes. Time without an idiot like you bothering her. Surely she is so happy with her boyfriend that she already forgot that she met you.

"Even if it were like that, I don't care. As long as she's happy."

"stop lying to yourself, for God's sake!"

"I don't have to listen to you."

I took a sleeping pill and went to bed 

“Again running away from your problems, huh? Wow, congratulations!".

"It's late and I don't want to talk to you, so I'm going to sleep."

"It's late, yes. But we can continue talking. It will take some time before the pill effects kicks in.”

I didn't answer anything.

"And when you wake up I'll still be here."

I was silent again.

"I'm leaving, you know I'm right. Good luck with dreams and thoughts. They are worse than me."

The days passed with the same routine of waking up listening to that voice reproaching me that everything I do is wrong until February arrived and with this month also came the best opportunity to make Yasury fall in love with me.

It was difficult but it was the best option. For Valentine Yasury implemented a surprise box system in her livestream and in these boxes you could get cards that gave rewards depending on their rarity and one of the 3 rarest cards was a date with Yasury.

I had to get that card at any cost. If I got the date with Yasury I would almost completely achieve my goal of making her fall in love with me, so I did the most logical thing and bought 100 boxes, the probability that the letter would come out in 1 box was 0.3%. Buying 100 boxes raises the probability of getting the card . I just had to pray that I would get a high rarity card for the date.

"Is that your big plan? Spend more money for a CHANCE at a date? Every day I am amazed at how pathetic you are."

"I have faith".

"I hope you get the letter. Because if you don't get it, we won't eat for a while for nothing.

"I'll get it, I have faith."

"Oh, we're dead! We're going to starve or maybe you will kill yourself when you don't get the letter."

Before opening the boxes I went to Yasury's stream and at that moment a notification came out notifying Yasury that i had bought 100 boxes

“That's a lot of enthusiasm for the boxes! What card do you want to get, baby? said Yasury coquettishly.

I quickly typed a message and sent 100 coins for she to read, a few seconds later the narrator announced my message saying

"I'm going to get the date letter".

Yasury smiled and said,

“I hope so, baby. And if it doesn't work out for you, you can always try asking me for a date directly."

"Is she…"

“She is not flirting with you; Don't be more of an idiot than you already are."

“Then why did she tell us that we can ask her out on a date directly?”

"She only says it so that when you don't get the card you donate more to invite her to a date so when she rejects you go and buy more boxes."

"Of course not".

“Once again you know I'm right but even I get tired of telling you what an idiot you are. so I better go."

Since I didn't have that voice bothering me it was time to open the boxes and get the date card. I minimized Yasury's stream to open the page of the boxes, one after another the boxes were opened and from each one came out useless cards. My heart was pounding so hard I could feel it pounding out of my chest. The first fifty boxes passed and nothing. The next twenty-five... nothing. When there were ten boxes left I noticed that one changed color, and instead of glowing blue like all of the other, this one glowed a shade between red and purple. When it opened, there was the date card.

I had the card but I wasn't quite sure how it worked so to make sure I didn't waste my only date card I decided to try using several cards that I got earlier. I checked all the cards I had and in total there were about three hundred. They all had very simple things like making Yasury blow a kiss, say hello or get closer to the camera.

I could do something with that card, I thought.

I selected the card and used it. I entered Yasury's stream and told her:

"I want to tell you something important, come closer"

Yasury saw the letter and my message, approached the camera and said:

"What happened, baby, what do you want to tell me?".

I used another card and told her to come a little closer, to which she smiled and came closer and said,

"Is that close enough baby?"

I sent 100 coins and I blew her a kiss. It's kind of silly but it can help.

When Yasury listened to the narrator, she smiled, blushed and said:

“Did you use my cards to steal a kiss from me? First, invite me on a date, although it was not bad”. Yasury said blushing

This was my chance! I selected the date card and commented,

"So... would you go out with me?"

Yasury saw the letter with the message and again blushed and said,

“You got it! I would love to have a date with you baby, finishing the stream I'll send you a message to organize our special date.

When I thought that everything was going perfectly I heard that voice once again.

"That was ridiculous."

"Even if it was ridiculous, it worked." I answered.

"It worked because she had no other choice, you practically forced her."

"It didn't seem like I was forcing her."

"Is a character! Obviously it's not going to show that you're forcing her. It will simply smile and excite you so that you continue spending money on her”.

"However, this is my chance to make her fall in love and I'm not going to let you ruin it."
