Chapter 7:

Blood Cult - Part 5

The Broken World (Cancelled)

Leaving with the room Crow made his way through the hallway across the room. the hallway leads to another hallway, the hallway has doors left and right, some of the doors seem to be broken and some... lets just say its usable. making his way through the hallway he went to see what is behind the door. Some of the door was slightly opened so he was able to peek through, and some was closed off so he had to open it, and some won't budge so he kicked it open. Though what is behind the door isn't anything noteworthy after what he sees in the facility, if you want to describe it in one word you can, it's a prison or at least that is what Crow thought. Some of the rooms have humans remaining, there were also signs of them trying to break out, some seemed to have accepted their fate and just carved on the wall, it looks like some kind of writing though it's undecipherable, or it's not a writing just some drawing of a madman.

While going through the doors, one of them seemed to be recently used, Crow approached the door with caution, having his finger ready on the trigger and went to open the door.

The door opened and a figure lunged at Crow hitting him with a rock and tried to disarm him, though Crow managed to overpower him with the help of his exo-suit pinning it to the wall.

"W-wait don't shoot!" The figure shouted. "I'm not with the cult, I'm an info-broker and part time mercenary." he said desperately, or should I say she said desperately. The figure was a woman in her early 20's. She has short light brown hair and dark brown eyes as for her appearance she looked above average. though her body seemed thin if you looked carefully she is quite well built with scars all over her body. not a rare sight in the wasteland.

"Show me proof." Crow said, having his pistol aimed at her head.

"Index, Index is the name I used. you can look it up in the mercenary's database."

"Sadly I didn't bring my tablet down here."

"T-then you can use my tablet, it should be in one of the rooms to the right hallway along with my other stuff, those guys took it there if I'm not wrong."

"Fine, lead the way." Crow lets her go but he still has his pistol pointed at her.

They both then made their way back to the first hallway and went to the room where Crow found the exo-suit and weapons.

"Let's see, where did they put it?"

Index, or that's who she claims to be looking around in the armory.

"There, found it, here!" She passed the tablet to Crow and Crow checked if what she said before it's true. After comparing the picture with her he is finally convinced and puts away his pistol before returning the tablet.

"See, I'm not lying." She said while giving a playful smile.

"yeah yeah..."

"So... who're you anyway, I don't remember anyone with that suit from around here."

"Crow, I came from the eastern part of the desert."

"Lets see, Crow... ah there. " she went to check the database from her tablet.

"Well then let's part ways here, if you go through the charred hallway you should be out." Crow turned his back and went to exit the room.

"Wait! how can I be sure you're Crow?"

"Can't you just see the database?" Crow turned around to look at her. She had a rifle pointed right at Crow while having her finger on the trigger ready to fire. The rifle is a customized DMR that shoots plasma bullets.

"...Fine, just compare my face to the one in the database like I did before." Crow went and took off his helmet revealing his face. "They, happy?"

After confirming that their appearance is indeed the same she put down her DMR. "yes."

"Then go on your way. I still have unfinished business here." Crow put back on his helmet and exited the room.

"W-wait!" She called him out. "I request a team up, I'm not exactly a good fighter, and since I don't know their number-"

"I think I told you that I still had unfinished business here."

"Yeah, it's fine I can help you with that!"

"Didn't you say you're a bad fighter? So how could you exactly help me?"

"I can help you get the loot out from here."

"How can I tell that you won't just take it all for yourself?"

"We could sign a contract."

"Fine, but we have a 7-3 split, you being 3 and I'm 7."

"That's absurd, at least make it 50/50."

"6/4"

"50/50"

"fine 55/45"

"hehehe, fine. oh right, are there any vehicles?"

"Just take one in the hangar, though be careful of explosives, I've rigged the cars."

"Kay, then here." Index gave him the contract. After signing it and sending it to the mercenary hub they went their separate ways.

The reason Crow made the contract was because he might not be able to bring out all the items there since his target might get away if he took out the armory or after finding the target he might bring the facility down with him and with that reason Crow signed the contract.

Going back to where he left off he went to search for their leader going through most of the room in the facility. Crow then arrived in front of a door with a still intact label on top of the door frame, the label has 'Research Room' written on it, and it seems to be the most frequently used room.

Crow readied himself for the worst and opened the door.
