The last section of the course

Qui Shan has decided to take a break before he tackling the third stage of the course, he looked over at Lan Du curiously as to why she was just standing there.

Sheng Cang sneered and began laughing at her.

"He must be scared, that guy is just a wimp after all"he laughed shamelessly although he was the one always on the losing end when he is with Lan Du.

Qui Shan dismissed Sheng Cang's thoughts without hesitation, he doesn't believe that Lan Du is the type to be afraid of such little things but he still did't know why she was just standing there.Lan Du took a step forward suddenly, to their surprise, her foot landed exactly on where a hidden pit fall was!

Lan Du smiled and grabbed the ledge of the pit fall before she fell in completely and lifted herself up in matter of seconds.Due to her monstrous reaction speed, Instructor Lu didn't take away a point from her, nor did he count it as an out.

In fact, her actions were too well, it was almost as if it was all completely intentional.She then took a step weirdly to the right, which shockingly was another hidden pit fall!

At this point, the observers were wondering if Lan Du was just very unlucky or she was triggering it all on purpose.

Instructor Lu rubbed his chin as he stared at Lan Du.

'One time is just bad luck, the second time can be called a fluke, but what if there was a third time?'he thought and observed Lan Du from a distant.

Lan Du did the exact same thing on the second pit fall and avoided falling in with ease.She grinned and took another odd step to the left.It was as if she knew where the traps were and purposely triggered them.

Arrows began flying in her direction, her eyes sharpened as she took a step to the side, avoiding not only the arrows, but also another pit fall!Arrows continued to fly in her direction, instead of continuing the course, she stood at the very spot and continued to avoid the arrows.

A sudden thought struck instructor Lu.

'he couldn't be thinking of....'he shook his head and continued to observe.

Lan Du's performance was out of his expectations, even Sheng Cang and Qui Shan was shocked by it, how is this the skill of a twelve year old!?

Lan Du continued to avoid the arrows at that spot for a good few minutes and soon, they stopped coming.This shocked the other students, why did the arrows suddenly stop?

Instructor Lu smiled wryly

'To think he was actually crazy enough to do this, it is too shocking, no one has ever just stood there to waste the arrows'He sighed and turned to the two girls who was about to start the course.

A smile rose on his face

'He is a loyal person, I'm sure it was for these two' He then turned back to see Lan Du doing the same thing with the remaining traps.

She activated the hidden ones, wasted the arrows in front and even somehow moved some of the barbed wires!

Lan Du soon made it through the second course and turned back to see the two girls making through the first with no problem.The first part was the easiest and most basic so doing that was something they can do no problem.

When they made it to the second part, there was almost nothing left for them to be afraid of.But, just as they were about to finish the second course, two arrows flew out of no where towards each of them.

Instructor Lu smiled and stared at Lan Du

'did you really think you activated all the hidden traps?'

But what happened next was out of their expectations, even Lan Du was surprised, Xie Jing's eyes sharpened and she held up a wooden stick, knocking the arrow flying towards her.Xie Ying held up her hand and used a gentle motion and managed to change the arrow's trajectory!

Lan Du smiled bitterly and thought to herself:

'Seems like I underestimated them, it seems that they have secrets of their own'

Lan Du gave a hand gesture at them and waved as they walked towards him.

"Little lasses, made me worry for nothing"she said as she knocked their heads gently with a warm smile on her face.

The two stuck out their tongues and smiled brightly

Lan Du shook her head helplessly and placed a hand on each of their heads.

"Rascals, you two are still too inexperienced to tease me"she said as she leaned closer to their faces.

The two both blushed and felt their hearts thump.

They nodded their heads under Lan Du's influence.

Lan Du gave a satisfying smile and turned to the third course.She walked towards it and placed her hands on the wall.It was almost completely smooth!She grabbed onto a vine and placed her foot onto the wall.

Her feet would have slipped if not for her balancing skills.She slowly made her way up a around 10 meters where the vine ended.She now had to make a choice of taking the vine 2 meters away or the vine 1 meter away.

The one that was 1 meter away had other vines around and potential snakes whereas the other one had nothing around but getting to it was also difficult.

It wasn't a easy feet for the human body to reach that vine 2 meters away, not to mention a twelve year old.Lan DU grit her teeth and swung the vine she was on, she then used that motion to barely grab hold of the vine 2 meters away and leapt onto it.

Just when she was about to relax, the vine suddenly snapped, shocking her and the others.Sheng Can was on the top of the wall laughing at it.He had a injury in the arm so he was exempt from the section.But cutting the top vine was no trouble as he held a knife in his hand and laughed.

"Hahaha, Lan Du, how does feel to mess up here?With that fall, you should at least break a leg!"he laughed as he watched Lan Du stare at him in anger.

Lan Du reached out her hand and grabbed onto a nearby vine and barely stopped her fall.Instructor Lu shook his head and began writing on a page.

Lan Du felt her hand that grabbed onto the vine throb in pain, she might have fractured her hand when she grabbed it.But it was better than falling completely down and breaking her leg or another bone.

She twirled the vine around her hand and used her other hand to pull herself up.She untwirled her other hand from the vine and let it hang.Using that hand now would lead to severe consequences.Unfortunately, it was her right hand.

She glared at the laughing Sheng Cang and looked around.She was now closer towards the vine with possible snakes in it.She braced herself and bit onto the vine she held onto with her teeth and steadied her feet.

Qui Shan and the Xie siblings were now tense, what Sheng Cang had done was not only underhanded, but also against the moral codes!

Now, they watched as Lang Du tried climbing the wall without her main hand.Instructor Lu wanted to stop her from injuring herself any further and called out.

"Lan Du, stop the third part this instant!"He shouted

But Lan Du ignored it and continued to climb up the wall.She reached out her hand top grab the nearby vine as she grit her teeth even harder so she wouldn't fall.The strain on her was immense as she tried to reach out for the next vine.

Lan Du barely grabbed onto the vine and pulled herself up.But suddenly, a snake leapt out from next to the vine, aiming at her left hand.Lan Du braced herself and her right hand came up, smacking the snake aside.

Although it was injured, her arm itself was still fine so knocking away the snake didn't cause any major harm.But it did cause severe pain from her right hand.

She then began pulling herself up after steadying her foothold on the wall.This was the last vine up so after she made it up, the third part would be over.

She took her time and slowly made it up, despite the immense pain she was under.She continued to climb, sweat rolled down the side of her face as the sun shined down on her.

It took almost ten minutes to make it up there, she bit down on the vine once again, and threw her hand onto the ledge of the wall.Pulling herself up onto the wall with one arm.Sheng Cang who was on the wall was shocked that she made it up, how did she do it with a broken hand!?

Lan Du glared at him, grabbed him by his non broken arm and pulled him to the ground.

"Now, give me a reason to not throw you off after I break your other arm?"she said coldly

Sheng Cang felt a chill run down his arm as he cried out.

The four on the ground didn't know what is happening, but they soon heard a person scream out in pain and silence followed.

Lan Du walked down after, the back of the wall had a staircase so she didn't have to climb back down.She stood in front of the fourth part and decided to take a break.

Qui Shan, Xie jing and Xie Ying decided to take the third part, the prepped themselves and began climbing as instructor Lu walked to Lan Du.

"Why did't you stop when I told you too?"he asked sternly

Lan Du looked up at him and replied

"I have my goals so stopping at a mere broken hand is something I cannot tolerate"

Instructor Lu sighed and said helplessly

"I will take that as an answer for now, but in the future, I don't want you to disobey my orders"

Lan Du nodded in reply

Instructor Lu then turned to the top of the wall and asked again

"What happened to Sheng Cang?"

Lan Du smiled coldly

"He got what he deserved"

She stood up and turned to the final part of the course.It was an empty area with nothing there.She turned ti instructor Lu and asked:

"What is this part for?"

He replied

"This one is to tire a person out, no harm in telling you, run to the end, if you stop, then you will fail this part immediately"

Lan Du stared at the track, it was over five hundred meters long and he wants them to run it in one go!

She smiled bitterly and began running, her pace was steady and her face was calm.The only odd part was that she held her right hand as she ran.

After a few minutes she was half way done, but her lungs felt like they were about to burst, her breaths were haggard and sweat rolled down her face.

Her face was completely red as she grit her teeth and kept on running.She didn't stop, nor did she want to.She felt like she could collapse at any moment due to the fatigue and pain in her right hand.

Instructor Lu however was shocked right now.

'This part of the course is not meant to be finished by new students, how is she able to make it so far?Running two hundred meters after the previous three parts is already a passing mark, now she is almost at five hundred!

But as he stared, he noticed something was off, and what came nest caused him to panic.Lan Du fell to the ground and laid there motionlessly.

He quickly ran up to her and checked her conditions.

"My goodness, his right hand is bruised and fractured, he is also severely dehydrated!"He quickly got out a bottle of water and placed it next to her mouth.

Lan Du instinctively began drinking and the water in the bottle disappeared at a visible rate.Soon, Xie Jing, Xie Ying and Qui Shan arrived at the fourth part, they noticed that instructor was there in the middle crouched and had someone in front of him on the ground.

Xie Jing and Xie Ying ran up and was shocked to see Lan Du on the ground unconscious.

"Instructor Lu, what happened?"they asked in panic

Instructor Lu sighed

"He pushed himself too much, he isn't in a life threatening situation right now so don't worry, he just needs rest"he lifted up Lan Du and carried her back to the academy main grounds.Xie Jing and Xie Ying followed behind but he stopped them.

"You four finish the course, run 200 meters without stopping and you pass, there is a camera set up so don't think about cheating"he said as he walked off.

Sheng Cang was the only one laughing, although Lan Du broke his hand, he was glad that she was in bad conditions.

"Ha, he had it coming, dare to break my hand"

Xie Jing and Xie Ying ignored him and began running,Qui Shan sighed and gave a disdainful look at Sheng Cang before he also began running.
