Chapter 51:

Rescuing Abby

Ane And His Seames

Conner and Carter eyed one another. "That isn't your full power...Conner. You think you can beat me like that!?" Carter asked.

"It's not like you're going all out either." Conner stated to then smirk. "Don't want to destroy your precious test subjects!" he yelled.

"Don't be a smart ass. You don't want to hurt innocent people." Carter growled. Conner grinned and shoved his hands in his pockets.

"Guess we're in the same boat then." he said.

"Let's see who'll prevail." Carter remarked; standing on all fours menacingly.

Abby was staring sadly at the floor. "What's wrong Abby?" a feminine voice asked. Abby turned to a girl her age with Prussian blue hair, fluorescent blue eyes and a dress identical to hers.

"I'm sorry Gayla; I just spaced out." Abby responded; smiling.

"It's okay." Gayla said.

"It's about time Gayla, Abby." a scientist said as he came before the girls. The children nodded and hopped into some test chambers which automatically strapped them in. Gayla grinned.

"We're gonna be reborn Abby. Isn't that exciting to be the first to experience something so grand?" she asked.

"Oh...yeah. I guess." Abby replied; smiling. Sid crashed through the wall and flipped into the air. The shadow armor then grabbed the floor and pulled him to it. The boy glared across the room; wind blowing. "Sid?" Abby asked; staring at him.

"I'm here to save you. Don't worry!" Sid yelled; punching his palm determinedly. A scientist chuckled.

"Save her? What can a feeble brat like you save?" he insulted.

"You should watch your mouth...human." the shadow hissed as it placed the mask back onto Sid.

"That boy's eye is messed up." Gayla observed.

"Did that happen because of me?" Abby thought; biting her lip sadly.

Sid rose a hand and aimed it at a section of scientists. "Shadow Blast Barrage!" he yelled. Areas of darkness constantly struck at the scientists who screamed in agony. "Cool. It's like..." Sid began.

"I'm controlling your thoughts and movements." the shadow said. "Since we don't have a shadow contract I can't do it as efficiently as I would normally." it continued.

"It's okay. As long as we beat those punks and save Abby!" Sid shouted. A scientist pulled a knife out and charged; electricity flowing through her. She spun and kicked at Sid who fell into the floor; vanishing from sight.

"Shadow Lurk." the shadow said as Sid appeared behind the woman and kicked her aside.

"Tsk." the scientist said with a frown. The shadow grinned back as laughter echoed from the armor.

"Let's end this!" Sid exclaimed clenching his fists.

"If you insist. This move slowly drains your soul though....counting that we have no contract." the shadow replied. Sid said nothing for a few moments and then watched Abby who looked back at him.

"Let's do it." Sid finally complied.

"Ok!" the shadow screeched as an aura temporarily burst from Sid and the room got pitch back. "Shadow Sword." the shadow whispered. Continuous slicing then spread across the room and then metal was heard clashing. The room regained light and Sid was in midair; striking his pure black sword onto another female scientist who countered with her katana. She grinned and Sid flipped back. The woman jumped at him as soon as he landed; kicking his face. Sid screamed in agony as he rolled back as the woman's attack had hit his bruised eye which he now held in pain. Sid's hand grasped the floor.

"That's not good." Gayla whispered; eying Abby. "I can't use any healing abilities, just attacks. I barely have any elemental energy though." Gayla went on.

"Luckily I'm the opposite." Abby remarked as she barely lifted one hand. Water rained on Sid; slowly healing his scarred eye but the shadow flung onto a wall.

"What's the big idea." it hissed.

"Hm. Is that shadow useless against heals!?" a scientist yelled before eying his companions who smirked. They all rose their hands.

"Oh shit." the shadow said before the scientists sprayed some healing abilities at him but Sid hopped in the way.

Conner exhaled dark flames. "Shadow Style: Shadow Beast Breath!" he thought. Carter hopped back and the flames eventually diminished but the ground and roof in the room were no more. The remaining ground then gave way and the two brothers began to soar downwards calmly.

"Now I recognize that shadow. It's the Shadow's Beast's Shadow and that just then was it's fire breath. Didn't even know that demon had a shadow." Carter stated.

"One touch from it's flames and you're gone." Conner said; snapping his fingers. Carter ducked; still in the air as a shadow appeared next to him and bit. Carter then punched the shadow through the wall. As the men finally landed Conner immediately shot at Carter; sweeping the floor with a kick. Carter lifelessly flipped over his brother and spun; firing a kick down. A hand stretched from Conner's back and grabbed the attack and Conner emerged from Carter's back; shadow armor around him. He punched Carter in the stomach. "Shadow Fist!" Conner yelled. Carter vibrated and flung away; eyes rolling up before he grabbed the floor and swung himself back at Conner to kick the man up. Conner's armor poked out bones which stabbed Carter who in turn grabbed and then crushed them before uppercutting Conner and punching him in the gut.

"Dragon Swirl!" he yelled; spinning and kicking Conner away.

Sid dizzily eyed what seemed like molecules all around him as noise seemed to be echoing in his head. "This is Overheal. All your senses are higher than they should be ever." the shadow said softly but it felt as if he was screaming to Sid.

"I get it!" Sid yelled to then hold his ears which bled. "This is bad." he thought. "My clothes hurt." he whispered tearfully.

"Tsk." the shadow said as the scientist with the katana rose the blade and charged. "I won't make it." the shadow thought as he attempted to stand. A gushing sound was heard as the katana was swung.

A visibly pregnant woman with long purple hair, green eyes stood before Sid; katana going through her chest. She spat blood. "Head scientist!?" the assailant creaked. The pregnant woman smiled and rose her hand.

"Red Elemental Style: Time Reversal." she whispered. Sid seemed to revert to normal and his eyes fell onto the woman before him and shock then devastation filled his face.

"Mom?" he inquired softly.

"It's okay, Sid." the woman replied; smiling again. Sid was petrified in shock and simply stared back. Connor soared into the room and his hand formed into a blade and he sliced the female scientist with the katana mercilessly. His mask vanished.

"Perfect timing...for my water...to break. Save...him." Sid's mom said strainfully; falling on her knees.

"Get her to the med room now!" Conner commanded; glaring at the other scientists.

"Why should we listen to you!?" a male scientist snared.

"Just do it." Carter said as he walked in; bleeding all over.

"Yes sir!" some scientists yelled; grabbing the woman and pacing off. Sid still sat there; shocked and Carter appeared before the boy and kicked him but a shadow came between them. The kick launched both Sid and the shadow through the wall.

"Brat!" Conner yelled to then frown at Carter.

"I-I'm okay." Sid stammered as he limped out the wall; shadow armor on without mask. Carter smirked with a slight expression of genuine surprise. "I have question for you, Conner." Sid said. Conner rose an eyebrow in response and Sid pointed at Carter. "What is your relation Carter here? He's the head of this place right?" Sid asked. Conner's eyes were shielded and Carter chuckled.

"I'll answer that!" Carter yelled to then smirk creepily at Sid but with a deadly look behind it. "We're twin brothers." he growled. Mild surprise filled Sid's face.
