Chapter 2:

Broken agreement

Overtime

Dylan yawns while scrolling boredly through the social media feed. As an accountant, he should be busy… But today, he doesn’t care at all; he looks like he’s given up on life. As he leans back on his desk chair, a coworker approaches his cubicle. A tall, handsome man knocks on the outer wall of Dylan’s cubicle and looks at him with a smirk. “Hey wild boy, how did it go last night?” He playfully imitates a cat’s paw trying to reach Dylan, while winking at him. “Ugh… Alex… Don’t… I don’t even want to talk about it.” Dylan leans his head back, his fox ears fold back, at the same time he looks up at the ceiling and forces his eyes shut. The handsome wolf-eared man standing in front of him lets out a chuckle and lightly taps Dylan’s forehead with a thin binder he’s holding— “C’mon man, what’s up?”. Dylan instantly replies in frustration “She left, man! She wasn't even there for fifteen minutes and she left! She said I bore her and… Ugggghhh.” Alex shakes his head and laughs, “That’s what you get for dating on Tinder, man… But I've told you before, you gotta be bolder, build momentum quickly and strike fast, that’s what girls are after. Anywho, I need you to look at this for me, can you? I’ll be needing it for today’s meeting.” he says while laying the binder on Dylan’s desk. Dylan sits up and grabs it, nodding unenthusiastically. “Mmmmmhhhmm”. “I’m counting on you champ.” Says Alex while making a farewell gesture and walking away. Dylan sighs and looks at his half-empty mug; the coffee’s already cold; the only advantage of Dylan’s cubicle is that he can always count on having hot coffee available since his desk is the closest to the break room. Dylan stands up and heads towards the break room, dragging his feet.

Dylan opens the door, unaware of Ava at first but as he enters the room, he notices her; his eyes open wide in shock and without thinking, he quickly but quietly closes the door behind him and locks it. Even though unnoticeable physically, he’s freaking out. Just why can’t he open his mouth and say something, and why did he lock the door!? Dylan is completely frozen, his mind is repeatedly thinking about looking away but his body does not react, his gaze is locked on the body of the half-naked beauty standing across the room.

Ava, with her hands still around her waist fixing the skirt, stares at Dylan surprised. Her body trembles slightly from shame, her face quickly heats up and starts blushing. Dylan’s thoughts are scrambled, searching for what to say and how to react; he starts walking in the direction of the coffee machine. “That’s definitely a non-standard bra color, are you looking to get reported?” says Dylan attempting to make a joke. He doesn’t know why he said that, it definitely sounded better in his head, however, it’s too late now. Ava immediately picks up her clothes and without saying a word looks up at Dylan and starts crying.

“Woah, woah, woah… what, I, uh- “ Says Dylan utterly confused.

Ava throws herself at him, begging between sobs “Please, help me.”. Dylan grabs her by the shoulders and pushes her back; more than how soft her breasts felt against his body, he’s thinking about the strict sexual harassment policies the company enforces. Before anyone sees them, they need to get out of the break room; closest area: his cubicle. He grabs Ava’s arm and signals her to be quiet. Ava nods obediently and follows Dylan out of the room where she’s led to his cubicle.

“Put your clothes on before anyone sees you!” He exclaims in a low voice. “My shirt, it’s…” she tries to explain while still crying. Dylan catches a glance of his friend’s wolf ears from a distance heading towards them. “Shit, shit, shit, shit.” Dylan whispers in panic trying to decide where to hide Ava. He signals her to get under his desk. “Someone’s coming! Whatever you do, do not say a word.” Ava hesitates at first, but looking at Dylan’s distressed expression, she knows it’s the only option. Dylan quickly sits at his desk, trying to look busy. He spreads his legs in an effort to hide Ava as much as possible. When he pushes the chair a bit closer to the desk, trying to adopt a more ‘natural’ looking position, he notices Ava is facing forward, contrary to what he expected. Her face lies close to his crotch; she’s covering it with her hands, breathing heavily through her nose, trying to control her sobbing and embarrassment. Her subtle movements and the heat from her breathing make Dylan extremely turned on, but he tries to fight back his inevitable erection.

“Hey man, did you look at the-” he’s interrupted by Dylan. “ON IT! DON’T WORRY I’LL HAVE IT, I’LL MESSAGE YOU, JUST…” Alex furrows his eyebrows thinking that his friend’s sitting pose and tone of voice seem a little odd; but knowing Dylan’s been frustrated since this morning, he decides to brush it off as some weird coping mechanism. “Ooook… Gotcha.” Alex replies while walking away to the break room. Dylan quietly slides back, looking down at Ava. She looks upset and flustered. “I am SOOOOO sorry. There was nothing else I could have...” Explains Dylan. Ava looks away and quietly replies “I-it’s ok… I know…”

Ava looks at Dylan’s evident boner and looks away blushing. Dylan seems confused at her reaction but quickly notices where her eyes were wondering. “Fffh… I, sh-” Dylan tries to hide his erection with whatever he can find on his desk, he manages to cover himself with a binder. He awkwardly looks back at Ava but his eyes quickly direct to her cleavage. In uncertainty, he uses the binder to cover her cleavage, then pulls the binder back between his legs, then back at her chest, then back at him until suddenly Ava’s hand holds his hand. “Stop… I… I need to borrow your shirt... ” After such a strange request, she briefly explains to him her situation with the upcoming meeting.

“I promise I'll give it back as soon as the meeting is over, just please, do me a favor this one time,” Ava begs while pressing her hands together. He doesn’t understand why he agreed to help a total stranger, but looking at her imploring face… it was impossible for him to say no. He starts undoing the buttons on his shirt, wondering why Ava isn’t even trying to look away; no matter, if he was confident in just one thing, it was his well-kept body. She takes the shirt and starts dressing, while he puts his suit back on- better than just being shirtless.

Ava looks at herself while adjusting the buttons covering her chest, it’s a little tight, but it will work. “There’s something about women in baggy shirts that really looks sexy, would that be a fetish?” Dylan thought while looking at her carelessly . He snaps out of it when Ava throws her coffee stained shirt at his face. “See you in a couple of hours, pervert…” says Ava. “It’s Dylan” He replies.” Ava nods. “Thank you, Dylan, I owe you big time.” She smiles at him and hastily walks away.

-Later that afternoon-

Ava is in a large meeting room, smiling confidently. Everyone in the room is standing up and shaking hands. A woman approaches Ava and shakes her hand firmly and says “That was a great presentation with a promising proposal, young lady.” handing Ava her presentation card at the same time. Ava smiles politely while receiving it; she manages to read her position: Head of marketing. The woman continues talking, “I’m going to have a little casual meeting over dinner with some of my colleagues, mind coming along and telling us a little more about your business proposal?” Ava looks at her surprised, but, without giving her time to reply, , the woman continues: “I trust I'll see you soon, dear.” She then turns to shake hands with someone else and steadily walks away. Ava can’t let this opportunity go, but what is she going to do about Dylan’s shirt?

Ava paces quickly between her cubicle and the break room, catching a glimpse of Dylan working every time. Unsure what to say, she decides to write him her phone number on a sticky note so she has time to explain the new situation over the phone. She goes back to her desk to do that , then turns back only to find a wolf-eared man right behind her. “Eeek!” Ava screams, startled. “Oh, new girl, right? Boss sent me to fetch ya for that dinner, are you ready to go now?” he asks. Ava grabs her purse and fixes her hair a little while laughing nervously. “As ready as I’ll ever be!” Both head out with haste, joining a few more coworkers in the lobby. Ava leaves the building looking back up at where her office would be. She can’t help but imagine all the trouble she’ll be in.

-Later that night-

The elevator door opens. Ava comes out of it a little woozy. The office lights are dim and it’s a little chilly, mostly all the lights and heaters are off because there’s no one there at that hour, or at least, no one should be. Using the light from her phone she walks over to Dylan’s desk with a guilty look but when she arrives there, she finds no one. She looks around thinking that he left until she notices light coming from the break room.

Ava sneaks a peek inside finding a shirtless Dylan sitting and drinking from his coffee mug. He instantly notices Ava and stands up to face her.

“YOU!” He snarls angrily at her.
