Chapter 60:
Ane And His Seames
Ane stood up with the support of Lisa. "We...gotta finish this mission." Ane said; grinning.
"You sure you don't wanna stay here. You're in a pretty bad shape." Lisa suggested.
"I'm okay." Ane lied; smiling. All the teens walked towards the building and the chained man stood there; watching them. His normal eye dropped a tear and his dragon's eye was drippling blood.
"Y-you." the man groaned weakly; eying Ane. "Thank you for finally defeating that eye." he continued.
"Your eye? YOUR technique tried to kill us!" Lisa yelled; frowning. The man shook his head.
"That was my eye." he said.
"That's bullshit! How can an eye..." Lisa began.
"It's possible." Sid interrupted. Lisa eyed him silently and then turned back to the chained man.
"The dragon eye, huh. How come you only have one?" Ane questioned.
"It isn't....wasn't mine. That's why it's also...devouring me. It took control of me despite the fact...I was sealed here." the man replied through pauses.
"So that explains the veins." Sid said; folding his arms.
"Please...I beg of you." the chained man said; eying Ane. "Please kill me." the man remarked. Wind blew across the now dead silent room.
The teens stared at the chained man. "Why would we do that?" Ane asked; frowning.
"Well he did try to kill us." Ene replied.
"That was his eye you moron!" Eina scolded.
"None of that matters. If my eye possesses me once more; you all will die." the man said roughly. Ane's eyes were shielded.
"That is true. The only reason I won just now was because of the dragon's rage." he thought.
"How are you so sure it will possess you again anyway?" Eina asked; looking at the chained figure attentively.
"It's better to not take the chance." he replied.
"Ane...what do you think we should do?" Lisa asked; watching Ane who was silently staring at the man.
"Who are you?" Ane asked.
"My name...is Linx." the man answered.
"Linx...huh. Why don't you tell us how you got sealed in this building." Ane suggested.
"We might not have time for that/" Linx said dryly. Ane shook his head.
"Your reply to this question is what'll determine whether you live or die." the teen stated.
"Fine..." Linx said with a sigh after a moment of silence. "I-I was running an errand and on my way back; I stopped at a town where a dear friend of mine laid..." he began.
A teenage Linx was walking through a forest to then emerge into a town. People were walking all about and Linx sighed before pushing his hands in his pockets and strolling though the civilians. A graveyard quickly became visible and Sid calmly walked to it as darkness filled the new night sky. Sid hopped the fence unhesitantly and calmly landed to then look forward quickly. Two men were chuckling a little distance from him. Sid eyed the men enter a mansion and he frowned. "That's...." he whispered before pacing at the building. He ran up a flight of stairs swiftly and stopped after a long run. He frowned as he saw the men in front of a grave with shovels.
"Hey Brad. Do you think the rumor's true?" the blonde man asked.
"You mean that this guy isn't even buried here?" the other inquired. The first nodded and they both grinned. "Only one way to find out ain't it!" Brad yelled; raising his shovel.
"You two!" Linx yelled; stepping in sight.
"Hm; you finally came out?" Brad asked mockingly. Linx grinded his teeth.
"Steep away from his grave." Linx growled.
"Or what?" the blonde man asked.
"I'll kill you." Linx threatened; glaring at the men who looked at one another and then nurst into laughter.
"You hear that Rick? He's gonna kill us!?" Brad yekked; cackling. "Keep dreaming brat." he said; sighing and grinning. Linx kicked forward and the floor rose at the men. Rick held the concrete which forze solid. Linx jumped back and frowned.
"Elementals as well." he said.
"Well duhhh!" Rick shouted; laughing. He clapped and ice spat at Linx and spread all across the room.
"Tsk." Linx thought. The floor shielded him. Brad ran forward at high speeds and fired his palm at Linx who stood there in shock. Air blasted him from the building.
"You're weak!" Brad shouted. Linx appeared before Brad; electricity pulsing through him. "What the..." Brad began to be punched in the gut by Linx. Electricity blasted the man from the building. Rick dove at Linx; hand forming into ice. Linx vanished and appeared behind Rick; dragon eye gleaming.
"You bastard." Rick said.
"Straight Forward Lightning!" Linx yelled as electricity covered his hand as he phased through his opponent. Rick's heart area blasted open and Linx landed. Wind pierced the cooffin and Linx stared in horror. "No body." Brad said as he came from the coffin. Linx stood before him in an instant; eyes gleaming and lightning piercing through his entire body. He uppercutted Brad; causing the man's head to blast off. Electricity blasted through the entire building; the whole village getting hit with bolts which instantlt set fire everywhere.
"I then ran untamed for days...elementals from all over tried to stop me but...it was all in vain." Linx said; frowning regretfully.
"So how...how were you sealed here?" Eina asked.
"My former classmate...Faith Goldenburg sealed me." Linx replied.
"Faith did?" Ane asked in genuine shock.
"That makes sense. Given her reputation it was obvious she's actually quite strong." Eina commented.
"So why does she always send Ane on these dangerous missions?" Lisa asked; frowning. Eina shrugged.
"You kids...know Faith?" Linx inquired. Ane nodded and eyed Linx who stared back. Lisa looked at Ane silently.
"What will you decide...Ane. Whatever you choose; I'll stand by your side." she thought; nodding.
