Apologise to the doctors

After teasing the sisters more, Instructor Lu arrived.It has been a few days since Lan Du last saw him so she was surprised to see him.Instructor Lu no longer had that previous tired expression since they last met, in fact, he looked more energetic than before.

She wondered if he would increase their training from how energised he feels.

"I have returned because today is a more serious class...we are allowing you to participate in the mech section of the virtual training zone"He explained as he typed something on his phone.

Then all their bracelets lit up.

"I have given you all access to the mech section, you will begin with the basic mechs and all 

your identities will be kept confidential, you must not tell anyone, not even those close to you"He said seriously, his eyes were giving off a scary feeling.

Lan Du found it logical, now days, there will be hackers from other continents trying to steal data on students to find out who to eliminate as assassination targets, concealing their identities may not completely prevent it, but it will keep them safe to a certain extent.

"Sir, is there any reasons to hide it?"Asked a student

"Yes, but for now, you do not need to know, the mechs you will be using are small support types, they are the ost basic and easiest to control, you are not allowed to access the higher tier mechs or combat mechs until you graduate, not even seniors are allowed to touch them"Instructor Lu said as he slammed the table

"I will not tolerate anyone who breaks this rule, if you're caught, then you will be punished severely, only the official army soldiers are allowed to operate any combat mechs, knowing any controls for it now is also a taboo"

Lan Du listened carefully to any information, this was one of the main courses she has been waiting for since joining the army path.She has done many research on such mechs, there are rankings between mechs and mech users.For the users, it goes up from Novice, Standard, 

Advanced, Ace, Master and finally God rank.

As for the mechs, the ranking depends on the material and how well its made.It goes from Basic, Advanced, Extreme, Ace, Master and also God.The God tier mechs basically have a mind of its own, they form a connection with the user and increases efficiency.

Lan Du felt it was a pity that she isn't able to use any combat mechs in the next six years.Until she graduates, she isn't even allowed to touch them.

Deep down, she wanted to get right to the higher tier mechs so she can finally start contributing to her home land.In truth, the contribution isn't because she cared for where she lived, in fact, it is purely for climbing ranks in the army.

She turned to the Xie sisters

"Seems like we won't be able to contact each other during this session, take care of yourselves and I hope to see improvements from you two"She said warmly as she rubbed their heads gently

The nodded but blushed slightly.They then followed Instructor Lu, when they entered teh training zone, the room they entered was different to the usual room they use.This one was much more advanced looking and the space within was also larger.

Lan Du sat down in one of the machines and equiped the headgear.She then closed her eyes as the transfer process took place.Before long, she was in an empty field, in front of her was a small mech.It was roughly 3 metres tall but its still much smaller compared to the one Yuan Min came in on.

She went on the mech and the parts clamped onto her to make sure she doesn't fall off.She was then completely covered by the mech as the parts went over her.

A small screen appeared in front of her showing her the model of the mech.Beside the model was options to edit it into however she likes.

She smiled and changed the colour of the entire mech to blood red.She then changed the structure of the mech to a slimmer build so it could move faster.After that, she began changing the weapons.

Although this was a support type mech of a small build, it still had combat abilities so Lan Du made it so she could use it to the best of her abilities.

The weapon she chose were small daggers as it was what she thought was most suitable for her.She was used to close hand to hand combat and her reaction was her strong suit.

"This is fun, I wonder how this baby will fare against in combat"She licked the side of her lips as she confirmed her model.The mech's exterior and interior began changing according to the model that she edited.

She then tried to move, her movements were awkward as she moved her legs.Then she moved her arms.The control panel was somewhat complex but she was able to get the hang of it after some practice.Then she tried to run which resulted in her to fall.

She got up and tried to move once again.

"This is harder than expected, and this is only the basic mech...looks like I was the foolish one to think I could master this in short time"Lan Du smiled and continued.

After an hour of getting used to the movements and controls, she took out the short dagger and swung it.The movement wasn't smooth but it was decisive.It was as if she was aiming at the vital parts of a human as she thrusted.

She turned to see a tree nearby, it was surprisingly tall with a height that is over 10 metres tall.The thickness was around 2 metres making it seem very sturdy and tough.

She held up the dagger and thrusted it at the tree.The dagger punctured the tree, leaving a smooth stab mark on the tree.She swung it sideways, the dagger cut through the tree with ease and left a long mark across it.

Lan DU smiled and threw out multiple slashes this time, the tree was filled with cuts and stab marks by the time she was one with it.The moment she turned around, the tree collapsed from the cuts.

[2 hours is up, will you transfer to the training ground?]

A voice sounded in her mech, then a small panel popped up in front of her.

[Yes/No]

Lan Du tapped on yes and she was transferred to a different location.There was many different tracks that seems to be long and treacherous.

She didn't want to overestimate herself so Lan Du decided to take the first track.The moment she began, there were traps that already triggered, knocking her off balance.It took her a while before she made it to the end, there was a time that appeared next to her when she finished.The time was 20 minutes 15 seconds and 9 milliseconds.

Lan Du clicked her tongue when she saw the time.That was too slow, she headed back to the track and began running once again.After teh second run, she did much better with 15 minutes 12 seconds 52 milliseconds.Lan Du continued to run, every time she finished, she would get a tiny bit faster.

Her control over the mech improved significantly and her ability to utilise it has increased by many stages.After numerous attempts, she ended with a time of 8 minutes 28 seconds and 2 milliseconds.

She wiped the sweat from her forehead, the virtual reality world was extremely realistic and also replicated her fatigue from controlling the mech.Her mind felt a bit hazy so she chose to rest for s bit.She seated her mech and didn't move from the onwards, she watched as other mechs ran the same course she did.Very few ran the higher tier tracks though, majority that ran the higher tier are seniors who are already used to it.The rest are all juniors who began today.

Lan Du stood up after a few minutes of rest, she looked across and counted all the tracks.There was a total of 10 tracks across the entire area.Each getting harder and harder.

She walked towards the second track and stood in front of it.Many gazes landed on her, most were from juniors.They knew that Lan Du was also a junior since all juniors began with similar mechs.Only the seniors had other styles of mechs.

They were interested in as to Lan Du's abilities.Since that mech stood at the second lane, it must have passed the first.

Lan Du moved her arms and legs, prepping herself for the next stage.After warming up, she looked forward and ran.Her feet were positioned so she could maneuver it easily.Her arms were prepared for any incoming traps from above and her eyes canned every small detail of the track.

Her speed astonished many people, so far, the juniors barely learned to run, much less moving around so freely as if it was their house.

Lan Du's performance caught the attention of many seniors, they looked over and watched her track run.When Lan Du took a step to the right, her foot began to sink.She immediately shifted her leg and used the small hole to propel herself forward.Her actions took everyone by surprise, normally people would at most avoid the holes, even if they triggered it, they would try to get out as fast as possible.But no one expected her to use it as a small boost.

Her mind was strained greatly however, to pull of that movement, it took a lot of focus and spirit energy to keep up with her senses.She huffed and continued to run.

From behind her, darts were shot towards her.Lan Du heard the whistling sound as they flew near her, she quickly jumped sideways and continued to run in the same direction.Although the darts missed, a large log came from the side and aimed at her mech's head.

Lan Du's eyes grew wide open, she opened up the mech's palm and gently pushed the log's side.The log shifted to the gentle movement and pissed her.

She made it through the track after avoiding many traps.Some managed to take a good toll on her and took longer than expected.In the end, she finished with 14 minutes 23 seconds and 11 millisecond.

She sighed, this result was much worse than she hoped for.But she decided to stop, it has been quite some time after all.

When she walked out the tracks, there was many mechs around her.

"That was amazing, we couldn't even get to 20 minutes with the first lane, yet you were able to get under 15 minutes in the second!"One of the person in the mech said.His mech was much bigger un build compared to Lan Du, it was clear that he put most into brute strength.

Lan Du waved him off

"Its pointless if it is over 10 minutes, if this was a battlefield, 5 minutes is all it takes for you to get ambushed and surrounded"Lan Du sighed heavily and walked past the crowd.

She then exited the virtual world, when she looked around, she realised her class was already gone.She checked the time and found out it was nearly in the late afternoon.She hurried to class and found instructor Lu seated alone in the room.

He turned to her and his gaze was calm

"How was the test run?"He asked

Lan Du sighed

"Much worse than expected, it took a long time to merely get used to it, much less complete tracks"She said in disappointment.

Instructor Lu nodded

"Being able to get to the tracks on your first day is already quite impressive, most people spent the entire day running, the controls may be complex, but it was designed so it can cover complex movements so you can implement your own consecutive attacks"Instructor Lu said, he took out a guide book about mechs and tossed it to her.

"Everyone already received one after the test run, you stayed a bit longer so i held onto it, go read it in your spare time, it was personally written by Colonel Yuan so it is quite insightful"He smiled as he said

Lan Du gripped the booklet tightly but she smiled warmly.

"Thank you"She then turned to leave

Instructor Yuan watched as she left and furrowed his eyes

"He hid it well, but I still sensed some hostility in his eyes, why does it happen when Colonel Yuan is brought up?"He rubbed his chin and thought.

Lan Du headed to the dorms and went upstairs.On the way up, she heard arguments from students.There was also some students not wearing the same uniform as them.Lan Du squinted her eyes and took a look.

"Hah, look at him crawl, useless trash like him should just die"She heard someone shout, then she turned to the ground and saw a student on the ground holding his stomach.

She frowned

'Where are the instructors?How could something like this be happening within the academy?'

She walked up and realised that a large portion of the students there were not wearing the uniform from this academy.Those that were was either being held down or on the ground in pain.

"Look, another one came"A student laughed

Lan Du sighed

'I seem to be cursed, everywhere I go, a beating follows, heh, its been a day since I last beat someone, might as well warm myself up'

She walked up slowly with a gleeful look in her eyes.She tried to suppress the smile but still her mouth curved upwards slightly.

"The hell is wrong with this one?Is he right in the mind"

He held out a metal bat and swung it at Lan Du's head

Lan Du ducked down, she then grabbed his arm and pulled him closer.When he was pulled in, she lifted her other arm and elbowed him directly in the jaws.

"Oh, do go on, I love it when people like you speak for half an hour only to get beaten to the ground"Lan Du grinned, her eyes filled with joy as she let out a sadistic smile.

She raised her arm up and slammed her elbow down onto his skull, sending him straight down to the ground.She then kicked him aside.

"Beat him!"Someone shouted

They all ran up, holding a metal bat or pipe in hand.Lan Du grew serious, those weapons can inflict serious damage to her body is she was struck.

Amid the chaos, she spent most the time dodging, she countered if she could and knocked a few back.But could never get the finishing blow to knock them out cold so they would continuously charge at her.

Suddenly, she felt a clear impact at the back of her head, her eyes blurred and a sharp pain was felt.She grit her teeth and bit her tongue to keep herself awake.

"H-he is crazy, biting his tongue to stay awake"Someone noticed and shouted

Lan Du grabbed the closest person by the face and slammed him to the ground head first.He was knocked down as some blood trickled down from the back of his head.He wasn't dead, but he was seriously injured.Lan Du spat out some blood and wiped the side of her mouth.A big cold smile appeared on her face.

"That freakin hurt, did you know that?"She picked up. a bat and twirled it around her hand.

She then smashed the bat at someone's arm, he was knocked to the side with a broken arm as his body twitched.He lost consciousness from the pain a few seconds after.

There was less and less people as Lan Du began picking them off.She would get struck once in a while in the side of her chest or arm.But she would bear the pain and continue the assault.Her head hurst as if she was getting constantly smashed to the ground, her arm felt numb and her body was tired, but that only made her more violent.

Her actions would cause serious injuries to the other students.After clearing them up, she was dead tired, if not for the sneak attack from the beginning which landed on her head, she would have wrapped it up much easier.She turned to the students from her academy and they glanced back with looks of admiration.

"A-amazing, you finished them all alone!There was at least 20 of them and they were all armed as well!"One of the injured student said in astonishment and idolisation.

Lan Du placed a hand on her head and leaned on the railing.

"If you're done with your praises, get moving, I'm not cleaning up this mess"She then wobbled upstairs and went towards her dorm.She had some medicine she prepared for when she might get injured again.The medicine she bought was expensive so it's affects were naturally top notch as well.

She opened the door and stumbled in.When her room mates saw her battered look, they were shocked

"Lan Du, what happened"Fatty shouted

They saw blood at the back of her head and her arm was bruised up badly.

"Shut up, get my medicine, they're in the box bellow the bed"She said

Tie Wang immediately got the box, inside was a spray can, a bottle and two needles.Lan Du grabbed one of the needles and jabbed it into her left arm.She then injected the liquid within slowly.Her pale face slowly regained it's colours and her headache reduced.

She then took out the spray can and gently sprayed her bruised areas.She lifted her shirt slightly and also sprayed into it.

When they saw the bruises beneath her shirt, they were even more shocked.

"Lan Du, who did this?Are you sure you're okay?"Ling Shou asked with concern

Lan Du nodded

"It's fine, they got a lucky shot at the back of my head when they came in a group, damn, the metal bat definitely left a mark on me"Lan Du spat out another small amount of blood from her mouth and stayed some medicine on the back of her head.

"m-metal bat!"

"Lan Du. are you a beast?Taking a metal bat to the head and still look fine"Fatty was speechless

"Fine?How is this fine?If I was fine, would 20 people be enough to put me in this state?"Lan Du 

shot a gaze that fatty and said

"twenty!Lan Du, we'll take you to the hospital immediately"Fatty said hurriedly

Lan Du rubbed her chin

"Maybe I should"She said

"Yes, fighting so many people, how can you not?!"

Lan Du shook her head

"No, what I mean is I should apologise to the doctors for sending so many patients in"

Tie Wang, fatty and Ling Shou stared at Lan Du.They time passed with them wondering how Lan Du defeated 20 people alone.And she sent them all to the hospital!They thought he ran away after getting struck by them, but he actually defeated them all!
